When Alexia Ortega looked back on the day she decided to pack her bags and leave her home in search of a man she had never even met, she believed something like this should have been playing in her ears. It was the death of her mother that started her on this path, after Lilith Ortega left her only child with a single slip of paper with all the information she had on the man who helped create her. At first, Alexia didn't know what to do with what she had been given, but then she did: she had to find her Father.

Since Alexia had gotten her hands on her first computer at the mere age of four, she had been an excellent hacker. So good that she could most likely wander into any government server, take a stroll around their files, and no one would be the wiser. But Alexia didn't, because if she was caught she would end up leaving her Mother all alone and that was something she refused to do.

Despite her incredible brain, Alexia wanted nothing more than to travel the world. She wanted to venture into the corners of the world and experience the wonders their gorgeous planet had to offer. Alexia wasn't sure what to do with her life; she had graduated high school at 14 and then struggled to decide what her next step was going to be. There were many things she was good at, not to brag or anything, but nothing really fit, you know? Nothing spoke to her, like it was what she was meant to do.

Fortunately for her, her family understood. Alexia was well prepared to wait, to figure it what she was going to do in her life and then do it, but that was when tragedy struck.

Lilith Ortega, a loving Mother, Sister and Friend, had fallen very ill. Alexia and her Uncle never left her side as they slowly watched her fade into a shell of who she used to be. It broke their hearts to watch as the illness invaded her body and fight eventually leave her. For Lilith Ortega was known for being strong and brave, which she most certainly was, but as the illness progressed both of her defining traits slowly left her. And there wasn't anything Alexia or anyone else could do. Lilith Ortega was dying and there was no preventing it.

The death of her Mother shook the teen to her very core. Her whole world came crashing down around her, her inner-ocean became a rocky storm. Marco Ortega was there for her, as she knew he always would be, but losing one of the two people she had in the world, it felt like her heart was being split into two.

But upon her Mother's death, she was left a small slip of paper, containing the details of a man who had no idea she even existed. She has nothing to lose, nowhere to go, so she must try to find her father, all the while holding up a bulletproof shield to protect herself from being hurt once again.

Welcome back to the rewritten version of Bulletproof!!! For those who were readers of the old Bulletproof, welcome back and for new readers, it's a pleasure to have you here too.

Alexia Ortega will always have a special place in my heart even if the writing I've done for her doesn't. I've rewritten this book considering how long ago I actually wrote it and in doing so, inspired me to write the next act. Mission Impossible is such a good series and so underrated her on this platform, so I aimed to fix that when I first published this book. It's so heartwarming to have seen all the support for this book over the years and the number of people who have enjoyed it, it really makes this all worth it.

Hopefully there won't be as long a wait between acts two and three as there was between one and two, because now that I've properly gotten into this book, it should be easier to write.
