Phoenix's Pov 

Me and Avery take off into the Maze I decide the second that she takes off that she is one of the best runners Minho and Newt are the best then Avery I'm clearly the worst no matter how many times people say I'm amazing I don't believe them.

When the day is coming to a close me and Avery are nearly at the doors when they start to close I trip over a lose stone and face plant I get up and keep running and both me and Avery just make it in.

I'm glad I made it back cause I'm not ready to leave yet I've just started my death wish  WICKED won't let me die so I have to stay here for now.

I go to bed and just after I walk into my room Newt grabs my hand I turn around to see his worried face I realize that I didn't cover up my wrists when I got back he could see my cuts.

"What do you need?" I ask trying to make it seem like I don't know what he wants.

"Phoenix you know why I'm here. You have cuts on your wrists I don't want to see you hurt I can't let you be anything like me." He says it so gently.

That's when I realize that he said he was cutting too it was just encrypted.

I grab Newt and pull him in for a hug "I don't want you to tell anyone if you do it will be under my conditions okay?" I'm crying but Newt nods so he understands.

I hug Newt tighter when Minho walks to see me sobbing and holding Newt it was kind of funny how he didn't know what to say to me because I was already crying so he just knocked gently on my door getting both of us to give him are attention.

"What do you want shuck-face?" I asked while continuing to cry.

"Something is trying to get through the walls we can hear the sounds and no one can sleep." Minho somehow manages to say with a straight face.

"Well lets go." I say before Newt can protest.

I grabbed Newt's hand and ran off to see what was going on. While we walk I wipe my tears away. When we saw everyone standing at the South Door that's the path me and Avery run. I look for Avery and when I see her I silently laugh, she's sleeping through everything going on if we all died she probably wouldn't get up.

Once me and Newt get over to where a crowd has formed I know what's going on.

"Guys calm down it's just a griever attempting to climb the walls then falling back down. Ok?" I tell them that hoping they wouldn't be so worried.

The crowd slowly disperses I just stand there even though I'm broken I still care about the Gladers they're my family not just my friends.

Third person POV

Avery woke up the next morning and saw Phoenix was sitting by the south door she got up and walked over to her saw that she was eating a bowl of Frypan's soup which is very surprising cause she hasn't eaten in quite a while.

Avery sat down by her friend to see her crying so Avery did the only thing she could think of.

Avery pulled Phoenix into a hug knowing something is seriously wrong, cause Phoenix said that she wasn't eating now she's doing exactly what she said she wasn't doing.

Phoenix's Pov 

I am really upset that Newt forced me to eat, I don't want to cause I'm  um..uh not the type of person who likes eating cause that means gaining weight and that makes me even fatter yes I consider myself fat and yes my friends who know tell me that I look almost as skinny as a twig but there is still more weight to lose so I have to only eat when I'm being watched.

But I'm not strong I started bloody crying then Avery came over and she hugged me?

Weird. Always knew that she was a softy though no matter how much she denied it.

-But it's weird I not going to deny that fact cause she hides her emotions.Avery is usually so closed off and never mind.

After a while both of us got up I made sure to dry my tears once again but I know in a few days I'll leave I'm nearly ready.

Um I'm just not going to write this bit don't worry you probably wouldn't want to read it anyway because it was a lemon
