Third Person

"We have to stop doing this," Adrian mumbles against Luna's lips before pulling away. Luna flashes a small smile at him and gently intertwines their fingers. He had barged into Adrian's office about an hour ago and finalized a few things with his parent's restaurant before waiting around until Adrian was done for the day. Of course, Adrian knew exactly how this would end up: a long make out session on his desk.

Adrian glances at the abandoned files that are spread around his desk. "Stop stressing, babe," Luna says softly, pressing his lips to Adrian's jaw. "You'll get the rest of your work done."

"I know but I really wanted to get it done today," Adrian sighs. "I'll just have to finish it tomorrow when I'm home."

"Hurry and pack up your stuff. I don't want to be late for the party," Luna tells him, hopping down from his position on Adrian's desk. Ava's sixth birthday is taking place this afternoon and of course, Adrian has to show his face. Deciding to keep his promise to his parents, he'd asked Luna to come along to meet everyone.

"You seem pretty excited about this party," Adrian chuckles and begins to organize the files on his desk. He slips them into their correct folders before placing them in his bag.

"I'm just excited to meet your family," Luna grins, showing off his perfectly white teeth. "This is a big step for our relationship, Adrian. We're one step closer to being engaged."

Adrian furrows his brows. "You're thinking a little to deep into this, baby," he grabs a set of clothes that he'd packed with him this morning and places a kiss on Luna's forehead. "I'm gonna go change." Luna sighs and curses himself as he sits down on the office couch. He closes his eyes as he remembers the conversation he and Gio had last night.

"How do you even know when you're in love?" Luna asked as he took a sip of his root beer, leaning back against the headboard on Gio's bed.

Gio smiled at Luna and took a sip of his own beer. "It's something that you'll just know. It's too much to explain."

"We have all night," Luna giggled. "Get to talking."

"What are you thinking so hard about?" Adrian asks as he exits the bathroom. Luna's eyes flutter open and he glances at his boyfriend who is folding his work clothes.

"Nothing important," he shakes his head. He gazes over Adrian's appearance which is now casual as he sports black jeans with a white t-shirt and a light washed denim jacket. He stands up from the couch. "You ready?" Adrian nods and slides on a pair of sunglasses. He grabs his bag and they head out of his office door. Tia spots them from inside of her office that was across from Adrian's.

"Did you guys plan to match or was that a coincidence?" she asks, walking out of her office. Luna furrows his brows and looks down at Adrian's outfit that coincidentally matches his black cardigan over his silky white top that is tucked into a pair of high waisted boyfriend jeans. They both sport a pair of black boots.

"Black, white, and denim," Adrian mutters. "I guess we are matching."

"That was a total coincidence," Luna giggles. Tia gives them another smile and makes her way back into her office. The couple heads down to the parking garage and gets inside of Adrian's car. At some point during the drive, Adrian places his hand on Luna's thigh and sighs. "You okay, baby?" Luna asks.

"Yea, I'm just nervous," he admits, intertwining Luna's fingers with his free hand.

A frown makes its way onto Luna's face as he begins to worry. "Why? Is something wrong?"

"I don't know how my sister is gonna act towards you. I used to think she would be fine but now that you're actually meeting her, I'm kinda skeptical..."

"Why? Is she mean or something?"

"She's really protective over me. I'm hoping everything will be okay, though," he says and softly kisses Luna's hand. Luna gives him a small smile before leaning back against his seat, getting lost in his thoughts.

"Do you think you're in love?" Gio asked him.

"Maybe..." Luna replied, shrugging his shoulders.

Luna snaps out of his thoughts as Adrian parks the car in front of his father's house. Adrian softly pecks his lips before they both exit the car and make their way to the front door. He firmly knocks on the door and waits for an answer. Before long, a familiar woman opens the door. "Adri– ah! Is this him?" she squeals, looking at Luna.

Adrian lets out a soft chuckle and nods his head. "Yeah, this is him. Luna, this is Belle, my step-mom."

Belle immediately crushes Luna with a tight hug. "It's so great to meet you!"

"It's great to meet you too," Luna smiles as Belle lets him go.

"I didn't get that much of enthusiastic greeting when you met me," Adrian frowns.

"No offense but you aren't nearly as pretty," Belle shrugs and opens the door. "Come on. Everybody is in the back."

Adrian and Luna follow her through the empty house and to the backyard where a bunch of adults sit at tables while their kids run wild. Luna holds onto Adrian's hand as they walk up to one of the adult tables. There sits Dakota and Naomi who seem to be in an interesting conversation as they are both laughing. As the couple walks up, the conversation seizes. "Aw, look who's late!" Naomi exclaims. Adrian rolls his eyes and sticks his tongue out at her.

"Dad, Dakota, Bitch, this is my boyfriend, Luna," Adrian starts, clearing his throat. "Luna, this is my father, my sister, and my sister's dog."

"Actually my name is Naomi. Nice to meet you!" Naomi smiles.

"Nice to meet you too!" Luna responds. Dakota glances at him before looking down at her phone. Adrian rolls his eyes at her antics before pulling out two chairs for him and Luna to sit in.

"Ooh! Your accent is really pretty!" Naomi compliments him. "Are you from England?"

Before Luna can answer, Adrian gives her a blank face. "Nah," he retorts, sarcastically. "He just heard the accent at the store and decided to pick it up."

"Babe! Don't be a jerk!" Luna scolds, lightly hitting Adrian's shoulder. He turns to face Naomi with a smile. "Yes, I am from England."

"That's so cool!" Naomi gushes and taps Dakota to get her attention. "Kota, he's from England!"

Dakota keeps her eyes on her phone as she nods her head. "Cool," she murmurs, obviously uninterested. The rest of their conversation goes by with lots of playful banter between Adrian and Naomi while Dakota occasionally looks up to glance or roll her eyes at Luna. Luna clears his throat as he notices the dirty look he was receiving from Dakota. He diverts his attention towards the little boy who is running up to Adrian.

"Logan!" Adrian smiles as he reaches out to give the little boy a high five. Logan sucks his thumb with one hand and gives Adrian a high five. Logan suddenly gets distracted and brings all of his focus onto Luna. "Logan, this is Luna. Say hi." Logan stares at Luna for a while, continuing to suck on his thumb. His big brown eyes gaze up at the boy in front of him who's giving him a small smile. After a few moments, Logan holds up his arms for Luna to pick him up. Almost instantly, Luna holds Logan in his lap.

"He's never let me pick him up," Naomi frowns.

"Me neither," Adrian gasps. "What's up with that?" he mutters under his breath.

Logan continues to stare up at Luna. "LuLu?" he whispers, a grin forming on his face.

"Sure, you can call me LuLu," Luna chuckles.

Logan points at himself. "LoLo?" he giggles. "Lulu. LoLo." They sit there for a while, Luna playing with Logan while Adrian stares at the two. In his opinion, it's strange to see Logan interacting with someone that isn't his parents.

It isn't long before he spots Ava waving to him from the other side of the yard. He clutches his jacket and stands up, looking over at Luna. "Babe, I'm gonna go talk to my niece," he says, bending down to give Luna a kiss. As he places his lips on his lover's, he feels a small hand pressing against his chest. He pulls away and looks down at Logan who is cuddling into Luna's chest with a pout on his face.

"No!" Logan squeals, pointing his finger at Adrian. "LuLu is mine!"

Adrian rolls his eyes and backs away from Luna. "Fine then," he mumbles as he walks away. Luna clears his throat as he sees Dakota staring at him from the corner of his eye. He looks back down and continues to play with Logan. Him and Naomi make small conversation, slowly but surely getting to know one another. After a while, Dakota looks away, catching the eyes of her brother who is staring back at her. Using a slight finger motion, he signals for her to head over to him. Dakota stands up and walks over to Adrian who is leaning against the yard fence.

"What?" She asks as Adrian crosses his arms over his chest.

"You know what!"

"I really don't," Dakota chuckles, leaning against the fence.

"Why are you acting like that towards Luna?"

"Acting like what?"

"You're being rude to him!" Adrian exclaims. "You're not speaking and you're giving him dirty looks!"

"Listen Adrian...I just don't know how I feel about him," Dakota states with a sigh.

"Dakota..." Adrian whines, a frown forming on his face. "Can you at least try to get to know him a bit? I'm not saying you have to like him right now but at least try..."

Dakota lets out another sigh as she looks away. "Adrian..."

"Please, 'Kota? You know how much I value your opinion but I really do want you to like him!"

"Why does it matter so much?" Dakota starts. "Isn't this just another one of your little flings that you start? You haven't been in a serious relationship in two years."

"But this is serious, Dakota!" Adrian bursts, causing Dakota to flinch a bit. "I feel so strongly about him!"

Dakota sighs as she notices how much this is affecting her brother. Adrian looks at her with hopeful eyes, wanting nothing more than his sister's approval of his love interest. "Fine, Adrian. I'll give him a cha–" before she can even finish her sentence, Adrian pulls her into a tight hug and squeals. Dakota laughs and pulls away from her sibling. As they head back to their table, Adrian notices the empty chair across from Naomi. He gives her an odd look before she shoots a small smile and points at the house. Adrian makes his way into the house and looks around for a bit before he finally spots Luna in the hallway, staring intently at his phone.

He walks up to the smaller male and wraps an arm around him. "You okay, baby?"

Luna looks up with eyes full of concern. When he sees Adrian, his body relaxes a little. "Uh yeah...it's just that my sister called me crying but she hung up before she could tell me what's wrong," he explains, looking back down at his phone.

Adrian grabs Luna's hand and leads him up the stairs, walking up the stairs. "I thought you don't talk to your sister very much," he says, remembering the conversation they'd had earlier in their friendship.

Luna shakes his head. "I don't...that's why I'm so concerned.." They stop in front of a door and Adrian quietly opens it, allowing them to step in. He flicks on the light and closes the door behind him. "You can talk o her in here. Nobody's gonna come in."

Luna looks around the small, yellow room that holds nothing but a few pieces of furniture. There's a few picture frames on the dresser with old photos of Adrian and a few other people. Hanging on the walls are a couple of anime posters and loads of drawings. In the corner of the room, a large bookcase stands, holding loads of comic books and graphic novels. "Is this your old room?"

Adrian nods and takes a seat on the bed. "It's not much in here since I didn't really live here for long." Luna gently plops down on Adrian's lap and tucks his face into his boyfriend's neck. Adrian wraps his arms around Luna's waist and places a soft kiss on his head. "Are you sure you're okay, Luna?"

Luna looks up and cups Adrian's face in his hands. "I'm positive, babe. I'm fine." Adrian stares at him with a small smile before placing multiple soft kisses on his neck and cheeks. "What?" giggles Luna.

"I'm so in love with you," he mumbles softly, grabbing both of Luna's hands and kissing them. Luna freezes and stares at his boyfriend with wide eyes. Adrian continues to press his lips to Luna's hands and face as Luna is unable to take his eyes away from him. "Did your sister tell you she was going to call you back?"

Luna snaps out of his trance and gently smacks Adrian on the shoulder. "Babe!"

"Ow! What?!" Adrian chuckles, gently rubbing his shoulder.

"You can't just say that!"

Adrian smirks and softly kisses Luna's lips. "I love you."

A small smile forms on Luna's face as his cheeks flush with crimson colored blood. "I love you too," he mutters, quietly. Adrian grins at him and places another kiss on his lips. It isn't long before Luna's cellphone is ringing and he is rushing to answer it. "Hello?!"

"Luna..." he hears his younger sister, Willow, cry over the phone.

"Willow, what's wrong?" he asks, tightening his grip on his boyfriend's hand.

"L-Luna...mom and dad are gonna kill me..." she sobs.

"What happened? Is everything okay?"

"I messed up...really badly..."

"Willow, you need to tell me what happened. Did you get a bad grade in school or something?"

"Luna..." Willow's cries over the phone cause his heart to race. "I-I'm pregnant.."

Luna's eyes widen. "Willow...what?"

"Please don't be mad at me!" she begins to cry even harder.

"Honey, I'm not mad at you. I'm an adult but I'm not your parent. It's not my right to be mad at you over something like this," Luna sighs. "Please try to calm down."

"What if they kick me out?! What if they hate me?!"

"They're not going to hate you, I promise. Everything will be fine."

"I-I'm too scared to tell them alone. I can't do it.."

"Willow you have to tell them. You can't hide a pregnancy for nine months...and you definitely can't hide a baby."

"I don't know how to tell them, Luna!"

"I'm– I'm coming back there in a couple of weeks for my birthday. You can tell them about you and I'll tell them about me..."

"What do you have to tell them?" Willow questions, sniffling.

"You'll find out when I come. Everything will be fine, I promise," Luna assures her. "Just keep it under wraps until I get there, okay?"

"O-Okay. Thank you, Luna..." Willow sighs.

"No problem, sis," Luna says and hangs up the phone. He sighs and throws his phone on the bed before looking back at his boyfriend who is staring at him with innocent eyes.

Adrian gently intertwines their fingers. "Is everything okay?"

"She's pregnant," Luna responds, bluntly. A small smile begins to form on Adrian's face. "And before you say 'that's great', she's sixteen."

"Oh shit..." Adrian whispers. "What is she gonna do?"

Luna shrugs his shoulders and sighs. "She's gonna wait to tell them until I come for my birthday."

"You're going to England for your birthday?" Adrian raises an eyebrow at the new information.

"Yes, of course. I always spend it with my parents."

"Oh..okay.." Adrian nods, and slips his arms around Luna's waist. "I guess I'll just celebrate with you before you leave then..."

"Or you can come with me!" Luna smiles brightly. "I think that would be a lot of fun!"

Adrian sighs and shakes his head. "I don't know, baby. You know how busy my schedule gets."

"But Adrian..." a frown takes over Luna's face. "It's my birthday..."

"I know, I know," Adrian replies, gently hugging Luna's small body. "I'll see what I can do, okay?"

Luna nods in response and stands up from his boyfriend's lap. "Come on. We're missing the party," he says and pulls Adrian out of the door.
