His winter: bughead (part two)
Even with his gloves on, his fingers were still freezing. The little stores along the street lit up, and christmas music blared from the inside.
He sighed and watched as whisps of cold air traveled upwards. They were like tiny clouds that always disappeared after a second or two.
Just like Betty. One day, she would act completely normal, and then the next she was sad. She was why he didn't want to go back to the trailer, to avoid her and his feelings. Because if she showed up, he didn't know if he could control himself.
He pulled his beanie lower, so it covered his dark eyes, and entered a small library that was cozy and no jolly music- what a relief.
Even apart, he wondered what she was doing right now. What bettyish thing was she up to, writing a paper, celebrating with her family?
Or was she alone too?
Not for the first time, he wondered how she was coping after the break up. It had to be tough, since he let her down via text. But what was he to do, confront her?
No. Jughead was a coward.
That night he was alone, but even the stars shone in constellations.
His wish to Santa was for Betty to find love in someone else.
