Sickness bug
Betty and jughead were currently in Betty's childhood bedroom, packing their things. They were currently at NYU, and were home visiting for the week. "I love riverdale, but I can't wait to be back at our apartment" jughead said, placing his clothes in their suitcase. "Me too" Betty said, sitting down on the bed, massaging her temples. "You okay babe?" Jug asked, taking note of his girlfriend. "Yeah, I just have a headache" she sighed. "Do you want to take a nap, before we go for lunch?" He asked, kissing her head. "No I'll be okay" she said. "Anyway, we need to drive back after lunch so we should get going" she added and jughead nodded. "Well then, you sit there while I grab the rest of our stuff, then we'll head to pops" he smiled and Betty sat back on the bed, watching him move around the room.
After saying goodbye to their families, betty and jughead found themselves in pops, cuddled up in a booth. "What can I get my two favourite customers?" Pop grinned, taking their order. "I'll have two burgers, a large fries and a vanilla milkshake please" jug smiled. "And for you betty?" Pop asked. "I'll have a basket of fries please, and can I have a glass of water?" She asked. Pop quirked his brow, but smiled and went to start their order. "Not hungry betts?" Jug asked, his arm coming around her shoulders. "No" she said. "I have a stomach ache" she told him. "I'm sorry betts, is there anything I can do?" Jug asked. "I'll be okay" she told him, pecking his lips. Ten minutes later, their food came and jughead ate his, as he watched Betty pick at her fries and take small sips of water. "Betts, are you sure you're okay?" Jug asked, concerned. "I think I'm coming down with something" she admitted, one hand over her stomach. "We'll get going soon, and when we're home you can rest" he said. He placed his hand over her forehead to feel her temperature. "You're a little warm" he observed. Jug finished his food off, and the couple paid and bid goodbye to pop before heading to their car. Betty sat in the passenger seat and rested her head against the window. "You can sleep baby" jug said softly, but Betty just shook her head.
About half an hour into their drive back to New York, Betty started to feel really nauseous. "Juggie..." she groaned. "Yeah?" He asked. "I don't feel good..." she admitted. Jughead pulled his eyes away from the road for a moment to look at his girlfriend, her face was pale and she had a hand over her stomach. "Do you feel sick?" He Asked; he knew she hated being sick. "Yeah" she whispered. "I'll pull over" he said, his hand rubbing her thigh. Jughead pulled up on the side of the road and turned to Betty. "Are you going to throw up?" He asked and Betty just looked at him with wide eyes. "It's okay baby, if you need to throw up, you can... let me get you a bag" he said softly, reaching for a bag. He handed it to her and as soon as it was in her hand, she hunched over and was throwing up. "It's okay baby, you're okay" jug said, holding her hair and rubbing her back. Betty pulled back to catch her breath and jug saw she was crying. "Hey, it's okay baby" he reassured her. She was still crying and jug saw she was holding back from gagging, he knew she hated being sick but she needed to get it out. He gently lifted the bag back to her mouth. "Let it out honey, let it out" he said and she vomited again. After a few minutes, of jughead comforted, she sat back and let out a big breath; her appearance was disheveled, and tears still fell from her eyes. "Are you done?" Jug asked softly and she nodded. "I'm so sorry" she sniffed. "No, don't apologise" he smiled. "You're sick baby, you don't need to apologise" he told her. "Let me just go and get rid of this and we'll get going again okay?" He said and she nodded. He grabbed the bag and hopped out the car. He Returned a moment later, and saw Betty still crying. "It's okay baby" he said softly and reached over to pull her in for a hug. "I feel gross" she said. "There's a gas station a mile down, I'll stop there and we can clean you up, okay?" He suggested and she nodded.
When they stopped at the gas station, jughead helped Betty out the car and Pulled her into his arms, cradling her head. "How do you feel?" He asked but she just shrugged. "I'm going to grab your sweats out the back and you can go and clean up and put them on for the rest of the drive" he said. While Betty was in the bathroom, jughead brought her a bottle of water and some crackers. He waited against the car, and when he saw her come out the bathroom, he took her hand to help her in the car. Once she was settled, he gave her his hoodie and then handed her the water. "Thank you juggie" she said, gratefully. "You're welcome" he smiled. "I brought some crackers, if you're hungry?" He said and watched as she grimaced. "Sorry juggie, I don't think my stomach can handle that" she said. "That's okay" he said. "Are you ready for me to start driving? Or do you need a few more minutes?" He asked. "I'm okay" she said with a small smile. "There's bag down there If you get sick again" he said. "But if you need me to stop at any time, just let me know okay?" He said. "Okay" she nodded. Jughead started the car up and began the drive home, bettys Hand in his the entire time.
When they got back to their apartment, jughead helped Betty up the stairs and got her in the bath before going back for their bags. Betty got sick again before they were in bed, so jughead gave her some medicine and tucked her in to bed, a bucket next to her. "Will you cuddle with me?" She asked. "Of course i will" he smiled. Jughead climbed in next to her and wrapped her up in his arms. "Thank you for looking after me today" she said sleepily. "I'll always look after you" he said, gently kissing her head. "I love you juggie" she smiled, falling asleep. "I love you too" he said, threading his fingers through her hair until she was fast asleep.
