Jughead was sat in the blue and gold office waiting for his girlfriend so they could go to pops. She currently had cheerleading tryouts. He was typing away on his laptop when the door swung open and Betty walked in; her shoulders slumped and her head down. "Betts?" He said softly and she lifted her head to look at him and burst into tears. "Oh betts..." he said and rushed over to her, wrapping her up in his arms and hugging her tight. "What happened baby?" He asked as he moved them over to the table and lifted her up so she was sat on the desk and him between her legs. "I.. I didn't make the team" she cried and buried her head into his chest. "Why not?" He asked as he ran his hands up and down her back. "Cheryl said... I... I didn't look the part... that I wasn't as.... skinny as the other girls" she sobbed. This made jugheads blood boil, all he wanted to do was storm down to the gym and yell at everyone who made her feel bad about herself but he needed to comfort his crying girlfriend. "Betts I need you to listen to me" he started, pulling her up to look at him. "I promise you that there is nothing wrong with your body. You're not fat. You're so beautiful it hurts. I hate that they've upset you and made you feel like you're anything less than beautiful but baby you're gorgeous" he said sternly, wiping her tears. "I'm sorry you didn't make the team but it's there loss" he said. "Thank you juggie" she sniffed and her head fell back to his chest and he kissed her hair. "Shall we go to pops?" He asked after a few moments. "I don't really feel like it... can we get the food to go and go back to mine?" She asked and he nodded "anything you want baby" he smiled.

They grabbed take out from pops and walked hand in hand back to Betty's house. He could tell she was still really upset about not making the team so she pulled her closer to his side and kissed her temple. Back at Betty's they sat on the couch to eat and when they were done he looked over to Betty and saw her trying to stay awake. "Do you want to go to bed betts?" And she nodded weakly. He picked her up and he small giggle made it all worth it. He watched as she changed into her pyjamas before taking her hair out of its ponytail and brushing it. She climbed into bed next to him and cuddled into his open arms. It was quiet for a moment before jughead heard Betty sniffling and noticed she was crying again. "Hey hey... it's okay baby, I'm here I've got you" he whispered as she sobbed into his chest. "I'm sorry" she sniffed. "You don't have anything to be sorry for" he said Softly. "I just don't know what I did wrong" she told him and his heart broke for her. "You didn't do anything wrong honey, okay? They're missing out by not having you on the team. But it's not worth it if they weren't willing to give you a Chance" he said and she nodded. "I love you" she sniffed. "I love you too" he kissed her softly.
