The day of FP's birthday party, Betty woke up with the sinking feeling in her stomach that she's been feeling since that night in the woods. She was still staying with Veronica after her mom joined the farm and the Jones are living in her house. Some nights she would stay with jughead, but she didn't want to overstay her welcome and wasn't familiar with his mom or sister. Sighing, she rolled over and checked the time on her phone: 9am. She noticed she had a message from jughead:

Jug: good morning betts! Hope you're okay! I'm really busy today but I'll see you later at the party, love you! <3

She put her phone down, grabbed her robe and left the bedroom. Betty found Veronica at the dining table, eating breakfast. "Good morning B! There's some eggs in the kitchen" Veronica chirped. "Thanks V" Betty said and grabbed a plate. They both sat and ate breakfast together, when Veronica noticed Betty's weird mood. "You okay?" She asked. "Just feel a little.. anxious" Betty told her. Since Betty had been staying with Veronica, Veronica had seen Betty's anxiety and panic attacks so she knew what Betty went through. "Oh I'm sorry B, is there anything I can do?" Veronica asked. "No I'll be okay, I'm just going to take it easy until the party tonight" Betty said. "Oh yeah! Well I'll be there tonight, obviously because it's at my speakeasy" Veronica laughed. "So if you need anything, let me know" she Said and Betty smiled and nodded. After breakfast, Veronica needed to leave to head to pops, but made sure Betty was okay. "There's some face masks and bath bombs in my bathroom, you should go and take a nice relaxing bath" she suggested. "Thanks V, I love you" Betty said, hugging her best friend. "I love you too, see you later" Veronica smiled and left the Pembroke.

After having a bath, pampering herself and sitting on the couch watching movies all day, Betty decided to finally get ready for the party. She put on some makeup, curled her hair and put on her outfit. She looked in the mirror and sighed, her anxiety was still bothering her and she didn't want it to be a problem at the party; she especially didn't want to bother jughead with it as it was his dads party. When Betty was ready, she started her walk to pops and smiled when she saw jughead outside pops waiting for her. "Hey baby" he smiled, hugging her and pecking her lips. "Hi" she smiled. "Ready?" He asked, lacing their fingers together. "Yeah" she smiled and they walked hand in hand down to the speakeasy. "Betty! You made it!" FP grinned when he saw the couple. "Hi mr Jones, happy birthday" she smiled and hugged him. "You must be Betty" a voice said, and Betty turned her attention to jugheads mom who was standing next to FP. "Hi, Mrs Jones. It's nice to meet you" Betty smiled, sticking her hand out. "It's nice to meet you too" Gladys smiled, shaking her hand. Betty felt a slight bit relieved that the meeting had gone well. During the party, Betty kept pretty quiet while she stood with jughead. He seemed really happy so she didn't want to tell him about how she felt the walls were closing in on her. Eventually jughead stood up on the stage to give a speech for his dad, and Betty tried her hardest to pay attention to him, but her breathing was becoming faster and her chest felt tighter. She stood quickly and ran up the steps, bumping into Veronica. "B? Are you okay?" Veronica, asked looking worried. "Im just going to get some air" Betty stuttered and rushed outside.

When jughead had finished his speech, he looked around for his girlfriend, but couldn't see her anywhere. "Veronica!" He called and went over to the bar. "Have you seen betts?" He asked. Veronica looked away hesitantly, before sighing. "She's gone to get some air" she told him. "Why?" Jug asked, confused. "She's had a lot of anxiety today, I tried to get her to relax this morning but I think she's just feeling really overwhelmed" she explained and jughead looked really worried, before thanking Veronica and rushing upstairs to find Betty.  He found her sat outside pops, trying to control her breathing. "Baby?" He said, concerned, crouching in front of her. "Sorry" she apologised. "Why are you sorry?" He asked. "I'm ruining the party" she cried. "No honey, no you're not" he assured her. "Why didnt you tell me you felt overwhelmed?" He asked, wrapping his arms around her. "You were having a good time" she sniffed. "Oh betts, I love you, and I always want you to be happy too" he said, kissing her head. "I love you too" she said. After a few moments of Betty calming down, jughead helped her up and pulled her Into his arms, kissing her softly. "Now, how about we go and grab some cake and then go back to mine and watch movies?" He smiled. "I'd really like that" she grinned, and kissed him again.
