Betty and jughead were finally getting away from riverdale; well it was only for a vacation but they were excited none the less. Jughead had surprised Betty with a trip to Hawaii after they both decided they needed a break after the gargoyle stuff and the farm. Jughead and FP were still living in the cooper house and Betty was staying with them. So when the day of their vacation came around they woke up wrapped in each other's arms. Their flight was a morning flight but not too early, they had to wake up at 5am. Surprisingly, jughead was the morning person in their relationship and he woke up and got dressed and made sure all their stuff was packed, leaving betty to have some more sleep before he really had to wake her up. He went downstairs to put on the coffee machine and was surprised to see his dad. "Dad? What are you doing up?" He asked. "I thought I'd get up to see you kids off" FP said. "Thanks dad" jug smiled and started making coffee. "Betty not up yet?" FP asked and jug laughed "no. She's grumpy in the mornings so I'm giving her some more time to sleep" Jug smirked and FP chuckled. They spoke for a while longer before jughead went back upstairs to wake betty.

"Betts? Wake up baby" he said gently and moved some hair from her face. Betty stirred but didn't wake up. "Baby? Wake up betts" he said again and her eyes fluttered open. "It's early" she groaned and tried to close her eyes again. "No betts, open your eyes" he laughed and she groaned again. "I know it's early baby but I've sorted everything out, all you need to do it get dressed" he told her. "Okay" she yawned and he pulled her up, her arms around his neck and she hugged him for a moment. "Love you" she mumbled into his chest "love you too" he said and kissed her head before she stumbled into the bathroom. Later, they were sat in the kitchen waiting for their Uber to come and pick them up. Betty was basically asleep, her head on the counter. "Come on darling, you're leaving now" FP laughed when the car arrived. They said goodbye to FP and they left for the airport.

After going through security and checking their bags, Betty and jughead went to find some breakfast. "Okay you sit here and I'll grab us food" jug said and steered Betty towards a table and she sat down. "Thanks juggie" she smiled and he kissed her softly before going to find food. He got Betty porridge and fruit and himself a muffin and a bagel, as well as a black coffee and vanilla latte for Betty. "I'm come bearing gifts" he announced when he sat back down. "My favourite!" She grinned when she saw what he had brought her. "Are you excited?" He asked her while they were eating. "I'm so excited! I can't wait until it's just me and you for a whole ten days" she said and he grabbed her hand across the table. "Me too baby" he smiled. They finished eating and then made their way to the gate and waited for the plane.

Once they were settled in their seats on the plane, Betty's nerves set in. They had payed extra for seats in the rows of two so it was just them. Betty hadn't told jughead about her anxiety and fear around flying because she was embarrassed but the closer they got to taking off, the more scared she became. Jughead noticed her shaky hands and shallow breathing and frowned. "Betts? What's wrong?" He asked and Betty sighed and turned to him. "I'm scared of flying" she whispered. "Oh baby... why didn't you tell me?" He said and lifted up the arm rest so he could wrap an arm around her. "I... I don't know. It's embarrassing" she admitted. "No it's not baby. You have fears and that's okay, you just have to tell me so I can help you" he said softly and kissed her temple. "Okay" she sighed. When the plane started taking off Betty's anxiety sky rocketed and she struggled to breath. "Hey betts, you're okay, you're safe with me Okay?" Jug tried to calm her down. "Breath in and out, that's it baby, you're doing great" he said as he held her hands and coached her through her breathing. "That's it, just like we always do" he encouraged and eventually her breathing evened out. "You Okay?" He asked and she nodded. "Yes. Thank you" she said and looked at him with watery eyes. He smiled and wiped her tears and kissed her softly. Just then the air hostess walked past and jughead brought himself a coffee and Betty a hot chocolate because he knew it always cheered her up. "Thanks juggie" she smiled, appreciatively. "You're Welcome, I just want you to feel better" he said. "I do. Thanks to you" she smiled and he grabbed her hand and squeezed it. She drank her hot chocolate and he noticed how tired she was. "Go to sleep baby" he said and she nodded. She rested her head on him and his arm came around her, he kissed her head as she snuggled closer. "Get some rest Baby. You're safe with me".
