It was a hot day, and jughead was spending the first weekend of his summer vacation with Archie helping Fred at the construction sight. Obviously, he didn't mind helping out as the Andrews had done so much for him but he couldn't wait for the day to be over.

"So Jug, me and Ronnie were talking the other day and she thinks we should all go on a little road trip to her family's cabin" Archie said as they were hauling rocks. "Yeah that sounds good, I'm sure betts will want to go" Jug agreed. "It will be nice to get out of Town for a bit" he added. "God! I'm so hot!" Archie whined after a moment and wiped the stress off his brow. "Let's go get some water" jug said and they walked off to have a water break.

By the time lunchtime rolled around, both Archie and jughead were exhausted. They'd both ditched their T-shirts as they were too hot. "Hey man! Ronnie just text me saying to meet her at the Pembroke for my lunch break!" Archie yelled from across the site. "Okay dude!" Jug said and waved as he watched Archie leave the construction sight. He sighed and figured he should probably clean off and head to pops for lunch. He went into the toilets and wiped all the dirt off, and took off his hard hat before heading back outside. Just as he was about to leave he heard a voice. "Hey handsome!". He instantly recognised it and a grin spread across his face when he spun around and was face to go face with his girlfriend. "Betts! What are you doing here?" He beamed and walked over to her. "Well, I know V made lunch for arch, so I thought I'd come and bring lunch to you" she smiled and held up a pops takeout bag. "You're an angel." Jug said and wrapped his arms around her and pulled her to him, kissing her softly. "I missed you" he sighed against her lips. "You saw me this morning" she giggled. "Yes... and you have no idea how hard it was to leave you in bed while I snuck out your window" he smirked. "Come on juggie, let's eat" she smiled and grabbed his hand, pulling him to sit under a tree in the shade. "Hey no babe, you'll get your dress dirty" jug said as she went to sit down, so he pulled her so she was sitting on his lap. "That's better" he stated and she smiled and kissed his lips. While they were eating they chatted. "So V mentioned heading up to her cabin for a fee days..." Betty started. "Yeah arch said the same" jug said. "Shall we go?" She asked. "Do you want to go?" He asked and she nodded. "Yeah, I think we should. We deserve the break" she smiled. "I agree betts. Of course we'll go" he grinned.

After they had eaten, Betty was laying on jughead as he stroked her hair. "My lunch break is almost over" Jug said softly, kissing the top of her head. "I know, I don't want to leave" she sighed. "Is your mom going to be home tonight?" Jughead asked. "No, she's on a business trip until Monday night" Betty exclaimed. "Do you want me to stay over?" He asked. "Of course I do" she grinned. "Okay, I'll come straight over after I'm done here then okay?" He said and she nodded "Okay". "Come on then, let's get up" he said and pulled her hand up and helped her to stand. He took the opportunity to hug her tightly and kiss her softly. "Thank you for lunch baby" he whispered into her hair. "You're welcome" she smiled, kissing him again. "I'll see you later?" She said and he nodded. "Text me when you get home Okay?" He asked. "Yeah, by juggie" she grinned. "Bye betts, love you!" He said as he waved goodbye. "Love you too!" She said and skipped off.

When jughead was finished for the day, he made his way to Betty's house just like he said he would. As he walked up to her house he saw her sat on the porch, reading a book, no shoes, hair down and makeup off and still in her yellow summer dress. "Hey you!" He called and watched as her head snapped up in his direction, and smiling. She quickly put her book down and ran towards him, he was quick to catch her as she jumped into his arms and he spun he around. "I've been waiting for you" she smiled when he put her back down. "You're beautiful" he grinned and she blushed. "I know you've been working hard so how about we have a shower and then chill and watch a movie... I made cookies..." she beamed. "You're amazing and that sounds perfect" he smiled and he let her lead him inside.
