Once the couple were outside they were immediately hit with the freezing cold winter air. They walked hand in hand through central park, just enjoying their company and being in their own little bubble. Eventually they got to cold and they took shelter from the cold in a small cafe a few blocks from central park. They ordered cake and coffee and talked for the rest of the afternoon."so Ronnie wants us to join her and Archie for thanksgiving in a little cottage on the coast" Betty started as the made their way back to their apartment. Veronica Lodge and Archie Andrews were their best friends and were also a couple. "sure that sounds like it could be fun" jug agreed, squeezing her hand."great i'll call Ronnie later" Betty told jug, who pulled her in for a kiss. "i love you" he said. "i love you too" she smiled. The next month passed in a blur of work and final exams for Betty, leaving little time for Jug and Betty to go out on dates so they opted on staying in on the couch with a movie during any free time they got together; because of the lack of time they spent together, they were very excited to go away with Veronica and Archie in a few days. The day they left to go to the cottage, Betty had one final class and she was free for thanksgiving break. They were already packed and ready to leave when Betty returned home. So when Betty finished her class she sent jug a text saying she'll be home in 15 minutes so when she hadn't turned up after half an hour, jug was getting worried. Archie and Veronica arrived, to pick them up and shared Jughead's concern when they realises Betty hadn't returned home. Suddenly Jug's phone started ringing, and Betty's name popped up on the screen.

"betts?!" jug rushed into the phone, before putting it on speaker so the others can hear.

"no this is the hospital are you Jughead Jones? Elizabeth's emergency contact?"

"yes, that's me, wheres Betty? Is she okay?!" concern lacing his voice. The 3 of them got into the car while still on the phone to the hospital.

"she is fine, she slipped on some ice and hit her head and got knocked out, shes awake now and keeps asking for you"

"okay thank you i'm on my way". Then he hung up and they went to the hospital. When they arrived, a nurse pointed them in the direction of Betty's room and jug, Archie and veronica went in to find Betty crying on the bed. Immediately Jug had her wrapped in his arms and was whispering words of comfort into her ear. The doctor came in and explained she was being discharged but he had concussion and needed to be monitored, he gave them a leaflet with instructions and symptoms that could occur and if she got worse to take her to the nearest emergency room. They thanked the doctor and Archie and Veronica left to get the car while Jug helped Betty up. "i was so scared juggie" she cried into his shoulder. "i know baby, but you're okay now and we have a holiday to get to, okay?" she nodded in response, he moved his hands to her cheeks wiping away her tears. "are you going to be okay? he asked. "as long as i have you with me" she smiled. "always bett's, i'm never leaving your side again" he said, lifting her up and carrying her like a baby, careful not to bang her head, she giggle and they left to find the others.
