Chapter 3
"I think you should leave" Jug said. "I will do no such thing" the person said. The person in question being Betty's mother, Alice Cooper. "What do you want?" Archie asked. "To see my daughter she stopped answering my messages and calls this morning". Suddenly realisation hit the boys and it then clicked as to why Betty was acting strange, she was facing the wrath of Alice Cooper all over again. Betty's last few years of high school were hard on her, trying to keep up her grades and extra curriculars and Alice Cooper constantly putting her down and putting pressure on her with her high expectations. The only thing that got Betty through were her boyfriend and best friend which is when they decided they would all move to new york and live together after graduation. It had only been 2 months or so since they moved to the city and the boys instantly saw a change in Betty; she was so happy and free because she hadn't spoken to her mum and now that was about to come crashing down. "Well I don't think she wants to speak to you so you should leave!" Archie spat. "Yeah just get out!" Jug shouted, protective boyfriend mode coming out. "It's fine guys" a quiet voice came from behind them. Betty was dressed in sweats and he face was pale and eyes were red, from crying and he hair was knotted together. It took all of Jug to not run over and wrap her up in his arms but now wasn't the best time for that. "Mom.. what are you doing here?" Betty questioned not moving from where she was standing and looking down at her feet. "Elizabeth I accepted that you came to this school but I forbid you to leave with two boys! They are bad influences!" Alice said sternly. The boys didn't flinch they had heard it all before. "Well that's not your decision mom it's mine" Betty argued back. "Elizabeth look at yourself since moving here, and in with these two you've really let yourself go" Alice said gesturing towards Betty. "I mean look at you, I mean where's your makeup? Your clothes are looking a little tight and~" Before she could continue jug interrupted her seeing how much this was affecting Betty. "STOP! Betty is drop dead gorgeous and she certainly doesn't need to hear your opinions! She's smart and kind and she's doing so well for herself here and she's smashing all her classes and she's the best roommate me and Archie could ever asked for!" Jug yelled while Archie moved to Betty's side, pulling her into a hug while they watched as jughead continued. "So I suggest you get out of our home and leave Betty alone because she doesn't need you micromanaging her life anymore!" He yelled. Alice stood there shocked before storming out of the apartment slamming the door behind her. Jug turned around to face Betty and she jumped into his arms and squeezed him tight. "I love you juggie" she whispered into his chest. "I love you too beautiful" he said back and pulling Archie in to make a group hug.
