The following morning Betty was woken up from the sun streaming in through jugheads bedroom window. Rolling over she smiled as she looked over at his sleeping face. She checked her phone and saw it was 8am so still relatively early, and she also had a text from Toni:

Toni: hey girl! Are you up for a coffee date this afternoon? :)

Betty replied with a yes, and smiled at the fact she finally felt like she had a good friend, who knew all about her past and still wanted to hang out with her. After enjoying the early morning feeling of waking up at jugheads, she carefully got out of bed and head into the bathroom to have a shower. She was still getting used to having her period back after not having it for a while. After showering and changing she exited the bathroom, only to have a pair of arms wrap around her as soon as she walked out. "Juggie!" She squealed. "Good morning baby" he smirked as he spun her around and kissed her. "Good morning" she smiled. "Mmm you smell good" he exclaimed. "That's because I just had a shower" she giggled as she pulled out of his arms and wrapped hers around his neck and kissed him again. "Did you sleep okay?" He asked and she nodded. "I'm glad" he said, pressing one more kiss to her lips before heading into the kitchen. "What would you like for breakfast?" He asked. "I don't mind" she shrugged, taking a seat on the counter. "Hmm I need to go grocery shopping so how about we go out for breakfast?" He asked. "Sounds good. I am meeting Toni this afternoon for coffee" she told him as he started to get dressed. "That will be nice" he smiled, pulling a sweatshirt on. "I think so too" she grinned.

Once jughead was ready, they walked to a small cafe that was near jugheads apartment. "This is cute" Betty said looking around at the Cosy decor in that cafe. "Yeah, I come here quite a bit the coffee is really good" he told her as they took a seat. "I'll go up and order what would you like?" He asked. "Erm, I'll just have the French toast please" she said after scanning the menu. "And to drink?" He asked. "Just a glass of water please thank you" she smiled and he winked and walked up to place their order. Once he had sat back down he noticed Betty pulling out some money. "Hey, hey no" he said gently, pushing her hand down. "Juggie..." she started but he softly cut her off. "My treat betts" he smiled. "Are you sure?" She hesitated. "Of course" he said. "Thank you" she said, leaning over the table to kiss him. Their food quickly arrived and they made light conversation as they ate. After they finished eating jughead noticed Betty become fidgety but didn't want to mention it unless she brought it up, instead he just took her hand as they walked back to his apartment. "Breakfast was lovely Juggie thank you" she smiled sweetly at him as they were walking. "You're welcome baby" he grinned, kissing the top of her head.

Back at the apartment Betty was lounging around watching tv while jughead was washing the dished after about an hour betty started to get ready to meet Toni. As she was putting her shoes on she looked over at jughead. "Are you sure you don't need me to stay here?" She asked him, making him look up from where he was wiping the counters. "Of course not, go and have fun" he grinned. "Are you sure? Because I can stay and help you" she said, ringing her fingers together. "Betts..." jug frowned. "What's going on?" He asked, walking over to her confused. "Nothing I was just making sure you didn't need help cleaning or anything" she mumbled, looking down at her feet. "I'm okay but I don't think you are, so please talk to me" he said, putting his hands on her shoulders and looking at her. "I..I'm nervous" she stuttered. "About what?" He pressed gently. "That I open myself up to toni and then she won't want to be my friend anymore" she whispered and jughead felt his heart break in two. "Oh sweetheart that won't happen" jug started, pulling her into his chest. "Toni knows about your past and she still wants to be your friend. I know it's hard to trust what your mind is telling you, but I promise being friends with Toni is good for you, and I know how happy you are being friends with her" he told her. "I'm just scared" she sniffed into his chest, and he pulled her back to look at him. "I know, and that's okay but you're so brave for even taking the step to befriend her anyway, and she knows all about you and she's still here betts, that's a good thing, great even" he smiled, wiping her tears away. "You're right" she said, a small smile back on her face. "I love you betts" he stated. "I love you too" she said, giving him another hug. "How about I take you to the coffee shop and then pick you up?" He suggested, wanting to make sure she felt completely comfortable before meeting Toni. "I'd like that, thank you Juggie" she said, tilting her head up to kiss under his chin. "Come on then, and I'll be waiting to hear all about what you two got up too when you get back okay?" He smirked and she giggled following him out of the apartment.
