Chapter 3

The next morning Betty woke up and got changed into some fresh sweats; she had a small bathroom attached to her bedroom with a shower and a sink it and she looked in the mirror and she looked and felt awful. She was irritable and pale and shaky. She wanted to just curl up in bed and go back to sleep but she knew that if she didn't get up then she would miss breakfast. After making her way into the food hall, she grabbed some toast and a glass of water and sat down at the same table she sat in the day before. Her appetite had dropped since she started her addiction but she knew she had to eat so she took a bite of her toast. Out of the corner of her eye she saw jughead walk in and grab himself a coffee, he caught her eye and sent her a smile and a wave, she just waved back. After eating she looked at the time and saw she had five minutes before her session with jughead so she got up and looked for the room she was supposed to be in.

"Betty!" Jughead smiled when he saw her walk in to his office. "Hi" she said quietly. "Take a seat" he said softly. "Okay, let's start" he said. "So, you have an adderal addiction, can you tell me when it started?" He asked. Betty looked terrified of opening up and he noticed this. "Hey, it's okay" he smiled. "Take your time" he said. Betty took a deep breath and started explaining all about the last year of our life. "My Dad... was dad was uncovered as being the black hood... and that started everything I couldn't understand how he was a serial killer!" Betty started. "I was looking into the whole black hood case and he was under my nose the whole time! And then my mum spiralled and joined my sister at some cult and I had no family..." she blurted out and then her eyes went wide. "Sorry I didn't mean to ramble like that" she said, looking down. "No, it's okay, I'm glad you told me that" he smiled. The whole time she was talking he was listening and taking notes. "I'm sorry you had to go through that, and that you came dependent on aderall" he said. "Apart from aderall, do you have anything else I should know about?" He said. Betty hesitated before opening her palms and showing him the crescent marks from where she digs her nails in. "Oh betty.." he sighed. "Thank you for showing me" he said. "Anytime you feel like doing that I need you to come and find me okay? We're going to find some new coping mechanisms for you" he said and she nodded. Towards the end of the session jughead noticed Betty becoming fidgety and pale. "Am I sick?" Betty asked. "No you're not sick, you're experiencing withdrawal symptoms" he explained. "How long will they last?" She asked. "Not long, only a few days" he told her. "Okay that's all we will do for today" he smiled when they were done wit the session. "I'll see you for tomorrow's session" he said and she nodded and left.

Betty decided to head back to her room, grab a jacket and her book and sit outside and read to try and clear her mind. She was reading for about an hour just completely lost in the book. She noticed jughead walking towards her with a bowl of pasta. "Hey, you missed lunch so I thought I'd bring you some" he announced when he neared her. "Thank you" she said. "I didn't realise how Long I'd been out here for" she said sheepishly. "That's okay. So you like reading?" He asked, gesturing to her book. "I love it" she said. "And writing" she added. "Well looks like we have that in common" he grinned and for the first time since she'd arrived she gave him a small smile.
