Not Scared

"Steve where could we possibly be going? You have already dragged me onto every single ride here, and it's closing in five minutes." Bucky whined. He gazed down at the hand Steve had wrapped around his arm as he herded him towards the other end of the carnival.

"Well, I haven't 'dragged' you onto every ride yet. I saved the best for last."

Bucky gave him a skeptical look and allowed himself to be guided by Steve. He was always doing things in a very specific way. It was one of the many things that Bucky found cute about him.

They had reached a corner of the park that Bucky hadn't even noticed before, and Bucky looked up at what the ride was. "A haunted house? Steve come on. We're grown ass men."

"Awe is someone scared?"

"Scared? Steve this thing is made for five-year-olds. This is ridiculous."

"It'll be fun. I promise. And if you're too scared; you can hold my hand."

"Oh shut up. I don't even think kids get scared on this."

"What are we waiting for then?" Steve walked through the line up because there wasn't one, and he handed the employee his tickets. Bucky followed him and allowed him to sit first. Once they were both in; the cart began to move along the track. They rounded the corner and went through a not so spooky doorway. Still not scary. The doors closed behind them and Bucky gulped. Okay, it was kinda dark. The cart rounded another corner and the wall beside him lit up. There was a skeleton hanging there and it made a screaming sound. "Oh, Jesus!" Bucky blurted out as he grabbed his chest.

Steve chuckled. "I thought this thing was for kids."

"Shut up Steve! It caught me off guard." His heart rate increased as the ride went on. Bucky had a few more outbursts which resulted in more teasing from his boyfriend. Every time Bucky tried to come up with some sort of excuse, but Steve was not buying it.

When the ride came to a stop; Bucky quickly stood up and left. Steve wasn't far behind him, laughing his ass off. "You should've-ha!-You should've seen your face!"

"For the last time Steve, I wasn't scared."

"Then what were you?"

He didn't have anything to say to that. So he turned around and continued walking.

"Awe come on Buck. I'm sorry."

No answer.

He jogged to catch up with him and held his hand. Bucky didn't protest. They walked in silence until Bucky finally opened his mouth.

"No more haunted houses. Alright? And no one can hear about this. Especially not Tony. I'd never hear the end of it."

Steve smiled. "My lips are sealed."
