I Love Every Part Of You
(I hope you like it! doooweeedooo
This wasn't the first time he had seen it happen. He noticed it almost every day.
When he drank his coffee, it was his right hand.
When he turned on the TV, it was his right hand.
When he cupped his cheek as they kissed, it was his right hand.
Never his left.
It was getting worse.
When they were at a meeting earlier, Fury held out his left hand for Bucky to shake. that would mean that Bucky would shake with his left hand, correct? Wrong. he went through the trouble of twisting his arm at the most awkward angle just so he could shake his hand with his right. Fury looked at him like he had two heads.
Steve knew it was time to intervene. He had to know what was going on. He sat on the couch across from Bucky and rested his feet on his boyfriend's lap gently.
Bucky paid no mind to him, finding the stray stitching on the cuff of his hoodie much more interesting than the living, breathing human beside him.
"Buck?"
He didn't even look up from that damn string that he was rolling between his thumb and index finger, "yeah?"
"Why the right?"
He actually looked up at him now. Probably because he gave no actual context with the question. "What?"
"Why don't you use your left hand?"
"I do..."
"No, you don't. You literally go out of your way not to."
"I do not..."
Steve crossed his arms, "then what was that stuff with Fury today?"
Bucky looked down.
"Buck..."
"It's a weapon," Bucky mumbled.
"What? No, it isn't."
"Yes, it is. Do you have any idea how many people I killed with this thing?"
"That wasn't you..."
"Stop saying that! Can everyone stop saying that?!" he snapped. "Yes, it was. It was me. I remember all of it."
Steve sighed and sat cross-legged, scooching closer until his knees brushed against Bucky's thigh. He grabbed his hands and held them between them, "you're still my Bucky."
"I'm not the same Bucky..."
"I never said you were the same. I said you were MY Bucky.
Bucky did not look convinced.
"I love you so much. Especially the arm. "
"But why...?" Bucky's voice sounded so small.
"Because it's all you..." he lightly kissed the spot where flesh met metal. The part with all the scarring, "it shows how strong you are..."
"Strong?"
"Buck, from what I have gathered, they did all of this while you were conscious. Without any pain meds or anything. And you made it through that. A lot of people would not have." He trailed kisses down to his shoulder and kept going until he had kissed every fingertip. " I would never change a thing..."
"You wouldn't?"
"I wouldn't," he confirmed.
