34. Doll Dizzy (Part II)

"Oh, brother! You've gotta be kidding me, doll. Please, tell me you're kidding!" Bucky threw his head back with a loud, contagious laugh.

"No, I'm not kiddin', Bucky. I really never met anyone good enough." You said, glancing between him and Steve.

"I find it hard to believe, myself," Steve admitted, his kind eyes looking at you apologetically for Bucky's laughter.

"You've never been kissed? Not even on the cheek? Not once?" Bucky asked, his laugh fading into a smirk.

"Leave her be, Buck. Not everyone has to kiss everybody and their cousin, like you have." Steve scolded his friend; by the looks of it, this wasn't the first time Steve had to put him in line.

"Hey, hey, hey, I wasn't sayin' it was a bad thing. I like a girl who sticks to her own morals." Bucky explained, his blue eyes catching your's, "You're just so beautiful, I find it hard to believe."

"Well, believe it, Sergeant Barnes." You replied as you held your arms out to balance yourself while you walked along the concrete railing by the sidewalk.

"I don't think that's such a good idea, (Y/N). You might get hurt." Steve sighed, watching you cautiously.

Bucky looked away from you momentarily to look at Steve, "It's alright, buzzkill, 'cause if she falls, I'll be here to catch her." His gaze returned to you, and he winked the second you looked down at him from the railing.

"I'll be careful, Steve. And as for you," you glared at Bucky, "You worry 'bout yourself, Sergeant. I'm a dancer; I know how to move without endangering my safety."

Bucky averted his eyes to Steve briefly, "Well, that's certainly good to know." He wiggled his brows before Steve punched him in the arm, his face turning a deep shade of red.

"Now about that kiss, (Y/N). . ."

You raised a brow as you peered down at Bucky, his best pouting face on. Only you knew better than to succumb to the puppy-dog-faced soldiers that were just bored.

"Keep dreamin', Barnes." You sassed, your red lips popping the 'B' in his name.

"Any chance you're a genie who wants to make my dreams come true?" Bucky raised a brow, walking alongside the concrete barrier.

You stopped and Steve held out his hand to help you hop down, "Genies grant wishes, fat-head." You laughed, watching him glare at you over his shoulder.

"Well, then I wish you'd let me kiss you." The brunette smirked, only to trip over his own feet.

"Buck's got two left feet when it comes to pretty girls," Steve added, chuckling.

"That's not true, Steve." He rolled his eyes and then his gaze returned to yours. "Sorry about that, (Y/N), I think I was just falling for you."

You rolled your eyes at yet another one of his smirky winks and linked your arm with Steve's.

"I think you're a bit arrogant, Sergeant Barnes." You giggled, glancing up at Steve, his blue eyes solely on you.

Bucky spun around on his heels and took your right hand in his and tugged slightly, "Not arrogant—confident. You wanna know what I think about you, Miss (Y/N)?"

"Enlighten me, Sergeant."

Steve knew exactly where this was headed, and he was growing a bit annoyed with his friend's multiple attempts to woo you; Bucky always had to have the girl while Steve always tagged along. It wasn't even until recently that women even paid attention to Steve, yet Bucky still managed to steal the spotlight.

"You're getting your first kiss this evening." Bucky grinned, his thumb caressing your hand as he held it.

You pulled your hand away, "And who says I wanna kiss you?" You propped your hand on your hip as the three of you stopped in the middle of the sidewalk.

Bucky's eyes widened, as did Steve's. He usually was never thrown a curveball like this, but you weren't about to fall prey to those gorgeous baby blues of his; you were smarter than that.

"Doll, you're killin' me here." Bucky huffed, adjusting his cap on his head.

"Can I interject here?" Steve asked you, glancing sideways at Bucky.

"Of course."

Steve, his arm still linked with yours, looked seriously at Bucky, "Sorry, Bucky, but have you ever considered the fact that maybe not every girl on the East Coast wants to get their hands on you?"

Bucky furrowed his brows in thought for a moment, "Actually, no, I've never considered that."

"Oh, yeah, that sure is confidence, not arrogance at all." You chuckled, tightening your grip on Steve's arm as you three resumed walking.

As your trio strolled right into town, Bucky took no time in ushering you into one of the clubs he enjoyed going to on his off nights. Steve was a little reluctant to go in, but with a pout on your red lips, he was putty in your hands.

Between Steve and Bucky, you danced the night away, teaching them how to properly dance while they taught you how to relax and have a little fun. By the end of the night, you'd heard and told about enough jokes to last a lifetime, as well as getting a few good laughs at Bucky's failed attempts to impress you.

"Well, gentlemen, I believe this night must come to an end." You sighed as you lead them towards the door.

"Ah, c'mon, sweetheart; the night is still young!" Bucky whined as he followed you.

"Give it up, Bucky; she's not going to kiss you." Steve chuckled, following closely behind Bucky.

You walked out into the empty street (you were one of the last groups to leave the club) and turned around to face the men, "He's right, Sergeant. But I did have a lot of fun tonight, so I suppose a kiss on the cheek wouldn't hurt."

Bucky allowed a goofy grin to spread across his face as he smirked over at Steve, who, as usual, was standing there awkwardly with his hands in his pocket as he watched you lean forward and press your painted lips to Bucky's cheek. Upon pulling away, Bucky didn't even bother to wipe away the red print of your lips that stained his cheek.

"Thank you, both, for a fun night. I haven't laughed so hard in quite some time." You smiled, stepping away from Bucky.

Now, you turned to Steve, his hands still shoved deep in his pant pockets, "I do hope to see you both again."

"We'll be here all week, (Y/N). And if you don't see us on base," Bucky turned around and held his arms out as he referred to the club, "You'll know where to find us—"

Bucky cut himself off as he turned back around to see your arms wrapped around Steve's neck, his hands now out of his pockets and resting at the small of your back. He'd knew Steve had never kissed anyone before, which only made this even more surprising.

Your lips molded together perfectly and in that moment, you really wished there was a genie around to grant your wish—to make this night never end. Steve pulled away, however, and smiled at you, his cheeks red.

Bucky let out a sigh, feeling a little jealous that you'd picked Steve over him. However, he tried to be happy for his friend. He couldn't help but wish he'd won you over; no other girls he'd ever met before were quite like you.

"Two first kisses in one night," Bucky clapped, walking over to you two.

"What?" You raised a brow, glancing over at Bucky before peering up at Steve.

"You know how you said that you'd never kissed anyone before, that you'd never met anyone good enough?" Steve asked quietly, his hands still resting on your waist. "Well, you weren't the only one."

"And James Buchanan Barnes experienced something for the first time tonight, too." Bucky said, causing you to turn your attention to him.

He let out a chuckle and linked his arm with yours after you pulled away from Steve's grasp.

Bucky looked straight ahead as he started walking back towards base, laughing, "I was the third wheel for once."
