A/N - I highly recommend checking out part one if you haven't read it already, this picks up mid conversation from the last. I enjoyed writing this even though it's really sad lol. Also? Two updates in one day? I'm on a roll! Comment below what I should do next, I plan on updating multiple times today.

Word Count: 575

She paused, "How are you today?"

He spoke monotonously, "As well as I deserve."

"And how is that?" Y/n asked clicking her pen in her hand.

"Fine." He stated simply.

Y/n sighed and adjusted her h/c locks, "Would you care to expand on that Mr. Barnes?"

He exhaled sharply, "Bucky."

The doctor smiled, "Okay, Bucky-" She paused, testing the new name out on her tongue, "Is there anything you feel would be beneficial to get off your chest?"

He sat silently for about a minute or so, leaving Dr. Y/l/n to believe she was being ignored. She sighed lightly.

"I want to be normal." He whispered.

She sat silently for a few moments, considering the ways to approach this large statement.

"Bucky, you surely know there is no such thing."

His icy blue eyes glared at her, "Don't lie."

Dr. y/l/n's fingers brushed the panic button on the bottom of her desk. If anything happened, she needed to press it as fast as possible.

"See? You fear me." He paused, "That's not normal."

She sat shocked at her desk, "What could you possibly mean?"

"I know that button is there. The last doctor pressed it." Bucky said, seemingly upset.

"So by normal, you mean you'd like people to not fear you?"  Y/n asked, her pen poised over her yellow notepad.

Bucky nodded.

"Can you think of anythings you can change within yourself that may change people's perception of you?" The therapist asked.

Bucky touched his metal arm with his flesh hand, "My arm."

Dr. y/l/n shook her head, "Nobody fears the prosthetic Bucky, if someone sees you for the first time they simply assume you're missing an arm. Which you are. Nothing to fear there. What else could you change?"

Bucky stared at Dr. y/l/n, silently.

"You need to seem approachable. Simply smile when you make eye contact with a stranger, hold doors open for people, wear brighter colors!" Dr. y/l/n paused and smiled, "Mr. Rogers is a great example of these 'open' qualities. Maybe you can talk to him!"

Bucky spoke up, "So you're telling me to change nearly everything about myself?"

"No, not all. Retain your personal qualities, and just be more mindful of those outside yourself."

Something seemed to click inside Bucky, he sat up straighter and attempted to make a softer type of eye contact.

Dr. y/l/n smiled, "Wonderful! Today was a great session Bucky. I'll see you next week; Wednesday at 1:30pm."

"Thank you." He said, lingering at her desk for a moment.

"I'm just doing my job." Dr. y/l/n said, smiling kindly.

"Can we have next week's session somewhere else?"

"I'm sure we can work that out, what do you suggest?" The doctor asked.

"My apartment, we can have lunch together." Bucky said, attempting to flirt for the first time in decades.

"Forgive me if I'm wrong, but are you trying to flirt with me Mr. Barnes?" Dr. y/l/n asked, slightly confused.

"Is it working?" He asked, slipping back into his former self for a few moments.

"It's a little unprofessional for me to say, but yes." She said laughing slightly, her cheeks flushed.
