"You didn't tell me you had a compulsive liar for a patient." Jimin said as he set down the bowl of popcorn on the small center table.
Taehyung groaned as he took a seat, "Can we not talk about work on my day off?"
"I'm legit still thinking about this dude. He lied not once or twice but three fucking times! I stood there like a fucking idiot and believed everything he said."
Taehyung reached over to grab the tray of popcorn and started eating, "Uh huh. Did you even make the one with extra butter?"
"Yes of course I did. You know I always do. Back to my story he told me his son's wish was to see a clown bring animal balloons and sing If You're Happy and You Know It. He told me he had three kids! That he was forty one! There I was like a fucking stupid idiot thinking it was the truth! I mean he looks in his twenties but I still gave him the benefit of the doubt. Now I have to dress up like a clown and go sing to these kids or I'll be the biggest dick on dick history."
Taehyung watched his friend go through a series of emotions as he spoke. Calm to embarrassed to pissed to really fucking livid.
"I don't think you did the one with the extra butter. I'm just not tasting it."
Jimin frowned, "Taehyung for fucks sakes. Are you even listening to what I'm saying?"
"Yeah it's kind of hard to not hear you. You're pretty loud."
"Is he even sick? He looks just fine to me. He might be lying about that too!"
"Jimin, are you forgetting something?"
He rolled his eyes, "I swear I did the pack with the extra butter!"
"No not that. You're forgetting he is my patient. I can't discuss anything with you."
Jimin sighed in realization, "Yeah. You're right. I'm sorry. I just have so many questions!"
"Well if you're truly convinced he's a compulsive liar and you're truly that curious just talk to him."
Jimin scoffed, "Yeah right. I'm over it."
"Uh sure sure. It's been three days now and you're still talking about it."
Jimin grabbed a handful of popcorn and started eating, "Whatever. By the way I forgot to tell you but Chanyeol and I have this team project thing."
"That's good news. Have you actually spoken to him outside of that?"
"No. I'm taking baby steps. You know we're going to be the best pediatricians ever!"
"Yes, for sure. I have no doubt about that. Maybe you should just ask him out. Don't wait to do the project thing. That's boring. Make a move to let him know you're interested."
Jimin gasped, "No way! I gotta take it slow. A pediatrics career is not an easy one. I want us to build a strong connection. I've liked him since before we started the program. I always thought he was the cutest out of the people in my class."
Taehyung grimaced as he continued to eat popcorn. "I mean he's cute but he's not a divine sex god fallen from another universe."
Jimin was slightly offended at his comment. "But he is!" He insisted. "Have you seen him up close? Have you seen those eyes? Those lips?"
"No. Don't really want to either."
"Ahh! I don't get it. You're so handsome and could literally get anyone but you're not interested in no one?"
"Nope. I'm trying to focus on my career and make money."
"What about that cute coworker of yours?"
Taehyung shrugged, "He's nice."
"Nice? He's literally so sexy."
"Yes he is but I've already told you I'm trying to focus on my career."
"I'm focusing on mine and I'm still trying to shoot my shot."
"Shoot your shot from a distance?"
Jimin frowned and then threw a piece of popcorn at him. Taehyung laughed, "I'm kidding! You know I pick on you because as your best friend it's my duty to bully you. At least once a day."
"Yeah, yeah." Jimin smiled.
"So are we going to watch this movie now?"
"Yes, let's go ahead before you start bullying me." Jimin said with a chuckle.

Yoongi looked at himself in the mirror. He was wearing the usual. An oversized t-shirt with sweats. The only difference was that this t-shirt had his favorite band's logo.
That's how he showed he was trying to be 'fancy'. He quickly reapplied deodorant for the fifth time and sprayed more cologne.
He had even showered for this special occasion so he hoped it was worth it. As he walked towards the door he quickly grabbed a mask and opened the door slowly.
He stepped out of his room and luckily it was Taehyung's day off. The nurse covering him didn't hover over him like Taehyung did.
From the corner of his eye he spotted Hoseok sitting outside his room door drawing. He looked up and shook his head at him as the mischievous Yoongi pressed his finger against his lips with a wink.
He put on the mask and took small steps towards the elevator. Once he was far enough he walked faster before the nurse on call caught him. He had to grip his portal oxygen closer to his body because the strap was sliding down his shoulder.
It was relieving to be in the elevator. He was serious about finding a partner before his birthday dinner. Plus, it's not like he could find one stuck in his room.
When the door opened he stepped out and started walking down the hallway. He always loved to come to the pediatric floor.
The walls were so vibrant and full of life. Nothing compared to his bland hallways. A few nurses walked by and he was thankful they didn't say anything.
They were used to him sneaking up there to begin with. Yoongi often played with the children there to distract himself. Since they didn't have the same condition he did there was no risk for either of them.
He caught a glimpse of his reflection on a glass window on a door. He decided to ruffle his hair a bit in an attempt to look attractive.
Apparently looking homeless was a thing nowadays. It was meant to be sexy and as far as he was concerned he looked pretty homeless.
His hair was now long enough he could tie it into a small bun. Jin kept offering to cut his hair but Yoongi knew it wouldn't end up being good.
To bring a barber to the hospital and have him go through a health screening just to cut his hair seemed too over the top.
So he managed it as best as he could. Finally after ruffling for a good two minutes he seemed content with his results.
It was definitely giving Edward scissorhands vibes. That was the look he was going for so he was pretty content.
Once he finished he saw the person he wanted to see. He removed his mask as he bent over and pressed his mouth against her ear.
"Boo!"
Nayeon squealed, turning around paranoid. She soon relaxed once she saw it was just Yoongi. "Fuck. Don't scare me like that."
"Sorry." He smirked.
"Why do you look like you got electrified?"
Yoongi groaned, taming his hair down, "Dammit. I was trying to look sexy. Way to ruin the mood Nayeon."
She laughed, "And here I thought you were coming to scare me."
"Mean ass." He said, shaking his head.
"What are you doing here? Taehyung must not be working today." She said with a chuckle.
"He's not and that's not fair. I've snuck out before when he's here."
"Yeah but he always comes looking for you."
"Fair enough. I'm actually here for you." He said leaning against the wall.
She playfully rolled her eyes, turning around and walking, "Sorry to disappoint but I actually ate my slice of cake today so I don't have any sweets."
Yoongi was quickly sidetracked from his objective, "Wait really? You can't go get another one? Just show them your badge."
"I can't leave the floor unattended. I've got three rooms to take care of. I'll save you one tomorrow."
"Fine...wait! That's not even why I'm here."
"Well it seemed like you were pretty intrigued."
"Listen, do you know that you're my favorite pediatric nurse?" He said, fluttering his eyelashes.
She leaned closer to him, "Is there something in your eyes?"
"Nayeon! I'm being serious."
"Okay, okay, I'm your favorite nurse and what's the catch? What do you want from me?"
Yoongi started fidgeting with his hands. "Will you be my girlfriend?"
Nayeon remained quiet for a few seconds until she broke into laughter. Then she noticed how serious Yoongi was and she went silent again.
"No, you're kidding."
"I'm not. Just look at me. I'm cute right? Sort of? I look even cuter without my oxygen. I just have to wear it ninety percent of the time. The other ten percent I'm hot as fuck see." He said pulling his nasal cannula down.
She chuckled, "Yoongi, yes you're very cute but I can't date you."
"But why not?" He pouted disappointed. Nayeon was his only option.
"Because we're friends and I know we won't function as a couple. I know you feel the same way. Plus, you've never approached me in a romantic way."
Yoongi groaned, "Ahh."
"Based on what I know about you, you've gotten yourself in a problem and now need to find a solution."
Yoongi grabbed her by the shoulders, "Gosh you know me so well. I'm in despair. This shit is urgent. It's even more urgent than my lung transplant okay?"
"I doubt it's more important than your transplant. Just try to relax. I'm sure you'll find a solution. The guy that comes in to entertain the children is coming in tomorrow. You should stop by. I know you enjoy it and it might help you take your mind off your issue."
Yoongi looked behind her on the bulletin board. Park Jimin's name was written on the schedule to come in at four pm.
"I do enjoy those. Especially making the people miserable. The kids seem to like it."
"Good. I'll be in the room tomorrow and I'll let you stay as long as you want. Until Taehyung finds you of course."
Yoongi pulled her in for an abrupt hug, "Thank you. I'm sure you and I are soulmates in some other world."
She smiled, "Sure, now I have to get going. I'll see you tomorrow."
Yoongi stepped closer towards the board. He smiled as he put his oxygen back on. Maybe he had found his partner after all.
