Jimin smiled excitedly and waved at the front desk man who seemed to be already tired of being there. He looked up at the smiling boy with a frown plastered on his face.

"Can I help you?"

"Hi! I'm here for the kids." Jimin said, sliding his screening paper towards him. It proved that he wasn't sick and wasn't a danger to the immunosuppressed children.

"The kids? What kids? Sir, do you know how many kids we have here at the hospital? Are you a kidnapper?" He asked ready to press the security extension .

"No! No! I'm here to cheer them up. I come every so often to read them books and to distract them? Park Jimin. That's my name. I should've introduced myself to begin with."

The man looked down at his stack of papers, "Ahh yes. I remember my supervisor telling me about you. Next time don't come in with a bag and that creepy smile on your face asking about 'the kids'."

Jimin felt a slight blush on his face, "I should've been more specific uhh...Vernon?" He asked as he read the name tag.

"Yes?"

"Oh, I was reading your name."

"It sounded like a question."

"Yeah I was a little unsure if that was actually your name."

Vernon grabbed his name tag and looked at it. "It's spelled correctly. That's my name. Tell me Park Jimin, do you wear glasses? Maybe you should put them on before seeing 'the kids'. You don't want to confuse them now do you?" He asked as he picked up the phone to dial a number.

Jimin cringed as he scratched the back of his neck. "Please stop saying 'the kids'. It sounds weird."

For the first Vernon smiled. He seemed to be enjoying this a little too much. "That's what you said you were here for right?" He teased.

"Well yes but—"

"Exactly so you can't take it back now because you said—Mr. Nakamoto, hello. It's Vernon. I'm letting you know that Park Jimin is here." Vernon's voice changed quickly as soon as Yuta answered the phone.

Jimin waited patiently as Vernon got off the phone until he finally did. "Mr. Nakamoto will be here shortly."

"Thank you."

"No problem. Unfortunately, that's  literally part of my job."

Jimin knew he should've dropped the subject but he simply couldn't. "Listen Vernon when I got here I should've said—"

"You're still with that huh?"

"Yes, because I don't want to seem like a weirdo. I've been here before plenty of times actually! You can ask Yuta about me. We know each other personally. I'm even friends with Taehyung who works here. Do you know Taehyung?"

"Who doesn't know Taehyung? He's eye candy around here. I would kill to have him even look at me once. Too bad he's on the top floor and I have no business going there."

"Ahh so you do know him? See, I'm trustworthy. I'm a truly nice person and—"

"Are you trying to work here?"

"Not really, no. I just like to volunteer. I'm in school right now to become a pediatrician."

"Oh okay. I was honestly going to offer you our janitor position. We need one urgently. We're very short staffed."

"Umm thank you but no."

"See I'm trying to be nice and you're just shutting me down."

"I'm sorry! I—"

"I'm kidding."

"Oh. Right." He murmured, humiliated.

"Jimin! How nice to see you." Yuta said as he gave him a hug.

"Good afternoon Vernon." He said once he pulled away. Vernon stood from his desk and slightly bowed.

"Thank you for having me again." Jimin said.

"Of course. Our children need to have fun and they adore you! I'll take you up there to see them."

"Thanks Vernon." Yuta said as he started heading towards the elevator.

"Don't forget to wear your glasses." Vernon whispered as Jimin walked by.

He felt la little embarrassed with the previous interaction. Once the elevator door closed Yuta looked towards his direction.

"Are you hot?"

Jimin immediately touched his face, "Oh! A little!"

"Don't worry, the top floor is cooler."

Once the door opened they headed to the room where he'd do his puppet show for the sick children. On his time off from school and work he liked to volunteer here especially considering his career interest.

He'd read them books, sing them songs, do puppet shows and even give art lessons. Whatever he could think of to distract them from their current health insides.

He started pulling a medium size table and getting his stuff out from his bag. Yuta then spoke up, interrupting his thoughts.

"I will go get them okay?"

"Okay that works! I'm almost done!"

Yoongi yawned as he walked down the hallway. He'd usually sneak to the floor beneath him in an attempt to play around. He happened to sneak past Taehyung because he would always watch him like a hawk.

The children there seemed to like him. Considering his only friend at the hospital was a guy he couldn't even stand six feet apart he needed other interactions.

It's not like his regular friends and parents outside of the hospital could visit him everyday. He also didn't want to be needy and constantly ask them to come.

They all had a life outside of here and it wasn't fair to enslave them to his reality.

The hallway seemed to be too awfully quiet. It wasn't until he went past a room that he saw a group of kids sitting down watching a puppet show.

Yoongi smirked and he opened the door. Tzuyu, one of the nurses on this floor was standing in the corner and she simply rolled her eyes once she saw him sneak in.

They were tired of telling him he couldn't be on the pediatric floor but at this point they were used to it. Yoongi was harmless either way.

Some of the children giggled and waved as he pressed his finger against his lips so they wouldn't make noise.

He sat in the very back and watched the lame show in front of him. Jimin was hunched underneath the table which was covered with a tablecloth so he couldn't see who just walked in.

Finally, five excruciating minutes the show was over. Good thing because at this point Yoongi wanted to carve his eyes out.

He started clapping obnoxiously loud and the children soon joined him making it very loud. Jimin was in the process of trying to get up feeling very satisfied that they were cheering him on.

"Guys! I think the person underneath the table should dress up as a clown next time they come!"

"Yes!"  They chanted in unison.

Jimin abruptly looked up, hitting his head on the table. "Ow." He murmured rubbing his head as he put the puppets down.

That's when he straightened up and met eyes with the pale figure in the corner. He wore all black. A baggy long sleeve shirt and sweats.

His hair was quite long and the ends were a bit wavy. His hair looked ridiculously tangled but he surprisingly pulled it off quite well.

"Excuse me?" He asked, confused.

The pale man proceeded, "Won't you guys like to see this gentleman dress up like a clown?"

Jimin curled his toes mortified. He was a little scared of clowns if he admitted it plus he'd never dressed up as one. The thought made him cringe.

"Yes! He can bring us animal balloons!" One screamed.

"Wonderful idea. What else?" The man asked with a grin as he looked at Jimin.

"He can sing us a song!"

"Ooh! Yes! If You're Happy and You Know It would be a good song."

"And he can sing us the shark song!" Another said.

"Love it. Yes. What else?"

"Sir, can I speak to you?" Jimin interrupted. His face was slightly pink from all the commotion.

Yoongi smiled, "Gladly."

Jimin walked to the opposite corner of the room and soon Yoongi followed. Once he had him in front of him he cleared his throat.

The anger he had felt was slowly replaced with fear. Jimin wasn't the confrontational type especially when he was face to face with people.

"Sir, with all your respect I don't like the fact that you came in to rattle all my well behaved children. I don't know who you are or what your plan is but I'd appreciate it if you left."

While saying this he avoided as much eye contact as possible. It wasn't until the man put his hand over his face and started sniffling that Jimin finally looked up.

"I'm sorry!" He wailed. "I'm sorry it's just that my little boy's dream is to see a clown bring him balloon animals and sing If You're Happy and You Know It. I guess I could do it myself but you're just such a natural! You are meant for this!"

Jimin suddenly felt so bad, "Sir please calm down. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. You—you have a child?"

"Yes. That one in the corner." He said, wiping away his tears. "And those two."

"Three? You're a father of three?" Jimin asked, perplexed. The man looked in his early twenties and definitely not like a father.

"Yes. I know it's hard to believe. I might look like I'm twenty-three but I'm actually forty one. I've got really good genes. So will you do this for me? I mean for the kids but for me as a father? It would really mean so much to me." He said putting his hand on Jimin's shoulder.

His eyes were teary and his voice cried desperation. It seemed so sincere that Jimin couldn't help but give in. He empathized with the man.

"Okay, okay, I'll do it." He said with his chest tight. He was a sucker for things like these. Way too gentle and kind.

"Do you hear that everyone? He will do it! We have a clown!" He screamed, wiping his tears. His mood truly changed from sad to happy in a matter of seconds.

All the kids started cheering and Jimin wondered how the hell he switched emotions so quickly.

"I'll do it." He repeated with a forced smile. It's not like he could say no after he got them all excited.

"Ahh. You're too kind." The man said, turning to face him once again.

"If you don't mind me asking where's the mom?"

"Oh I don't know." He shrugged uninterested.

"Don't know?"

"No. I have like three different baby mommas. It just didn't work out. It's not me I swear. It's not my fault I have good genes and everyone wants me. Their mothers only wanted me to sex and left me with the three to go party. I'm just too irresistible, funny and super kind. I'm the perfect package. I'm a fucking—"

"Yoongi. Are you kidding me?"

Both Jimin and the man turned towards the door where an annoyed Taehyung stood. The pale man sighed as his nurse approached him.

"How many times have I told you, you cannot leave your floor? It's too risky!"

Jimin wanted to ask so many questions, especially because his best friend knew this strange man, but he was too baffled to speak.

"I know but everyone here cannot harm me and I can't harm them. The visitors who enter here have to be tested and screened for any bugs. I'm okay."

"Yeah, yeah, let's go back to your room. You're supposed to be doing your four o'clock treatment."

"I don't like that shit. It vibrates too much around my chest."

"Now."

Yoongi groaned, finally turning to Jimin. "Looks like the fun is ruined. Don't forget you have to be a clown next time. Bye everyone!"

"Bye!" The children screamed.

Jimin raised his eyebrows at Taehyung who shook his head. "We will talk later." He murmured.

When they finally left the room, Jimin tried to process everything that had happened. It almost felt like a fever dream. In the end he was left a confused mess either way.
