Jungkook: 13 June Year 22
Finding My Own Place And Keeping A Place For Each Other
Part 3
When I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was Hoseok and Jimin. Their faces came in and out of focus as I blinked.
"Are you okay? Are you in pain?" Jimin asked.
"You should have called us...Do we mean that little to you? Do you think we don't care enough about you to come and see you?" Hoseok asked, upset.
I first woke up two weeks ago in the hospital. When I woke up they told me I'd been unconscious for 10 days. When I came to I was in pain. After they gave me sedatives, it became harder to remember things. I found myself in a stupor for days at a time. I couldn't tell my dreams apart from reality either.
And I had so many dreams. One stood out in particular:
I'd been suspended in the air looking down at my sleeping form on the hospital bed. When my other self woke up I'd snapped back into their body. It was similar to a lucid dream, but within a dream.
And then I dreamt about the accident. The headlights. They formed into the moon. Then I was awake again in the dream, looking down at my other self again.
In the dream, both of my consciousnesses had been awake. And I switched between the two so quickly I felt sick.
And every time I had those dreams, I'd wake up out of breath and sweating.
And I always remembered a voice in my dream that said, "It will be more painful to live than to die."
My mother called the doctors regularly to see if I was alright. I was recovering well and there wasn't much to worry about. I had fractures and contusions but I had no excessive bleeding whatsoever. I was lucky for someone who'd been in a car accident.
"Who hit me?"
I asked that and a week later a police officer came in to see me. He showed me the surveillance camera footage. The car hit me enough to send me into the air and back onto the ground. The car then drove away. A red light shone dimly on the scene. The car probably pulled out of view of the camera and stayed a while. Then it left.
"The car hit the guardrail after hitting you," the officer explained.
"Do you remember anything?" He asked.
Before saying anything, I remembered it will be more painful to live than to die.
The accident ran through my mind as I tried to answer him properly.
"Are you alright?" the officer asked.
I remembered then that it was seokjin's car that hit me. It had to be Seokjin.
"Did you remember anything? Even if it's a small thing..."
I shook my head.
"No. I just have a headache."
