Hoseok- VR

This was requested by someone on the discord I think. I don't remember who, but if you want credit, just comment here. Cool cool.

Run was always fun. It was a fun show to film. These types of variety shows allowed for the seven of them to experience so many amazing things they wouldn't have gotten to experience otherwise. Despite how amazing these experiences are, they would still get nervous. There's no denying they were all nervous for that one bungee jumping episode. Well... other than Jungkook. But at least they had plenty reason to be nervous. Hoseok was nervous for the next episode for no reason. There was nothing to be scared of. No heights, no water, just amazing vr technology. But Hoseok was nervous.

He had never experienced VR before, but what he had heard was it making people sick, people getting disoriented and getting motion sickness. And for some reason, that terrified him. Everyone else was excited, even yoongi, so hoseok just went along with it and pretended to be excited, even though he was terrified inside.

His stomach was turning already as they entered the room, so much vr everywhere. He felt sweat starting to line his forehead and his palms. Stop being so stupid hoseok, vr can't kill you. he told himself. Though it did nothing. His anxiety was not eased in the slightest.

They all got in line, about to start filming the introduction. Namjoon, who was stood next to hoseok, noticed hoseoks pale complexion and couldn't help but point it out.

"Are you ok hoseok-ah? You look a little pale..." Namjoon said, quietly so as to not draw too much attention to him.

"Yeah im fine." Hoseok says with a nod, trying desperately to not give himself away.

"if you say so." Namjoon says casually with a shrug, turning back to the cameras. Hoseok bit his tongue, wishing he could have just told the truth. He kept preparing himself to tell the truth, but the words wouldn't come out. When they finally did...

"actually-" the word finally came out, in a quiet and mousey voice, only for him to be interrupted by the crew calling for the cameras to start rolling.

"What was that hoseok?" Namjoon asked, having heard the little mousey voice.

"Oh... uh... nothing." Hoseok replied, cursing at himself inside. Just say the damn words hoseok.

"ok." namjoon said, simply, patting hoseok on the shoulder, at then they started, and hoseok had to plaster a smile on his face. He acted happy as they paired into teams and explained the episode.

Then came the first part, like a little warm up, using VR for the first time and getting to experince it, along with a moving platform that would simulate whatever was happening on screen to make the experience more realistic. Jimin and yoongi went first, and though yoongi's platform wasn't working, just watching jimin made hoseok feel motion sick. The way it jostled him around was enough to make bile start rising, and yet, hoseok still plastered a smile on his face for the cameras. The when yoongi and jimin finished, they both said it made them feel sick and dizzy, and then hoseok knew he wouldn't last. He gulped down the lump in his throat. At least the two still seemed to be laughing.

Then jungkook went, who clearly enjoyed it, with no care in the world. Hoseok continued to laugh and act as if nothing was happening, but in reality his heart was beating out of his chest as he knew his turn is next.

He put the headset on, and the 3D screen already made his eyes go all weird. He looked around, struggling to get his bearings. The video of a rollercoaster started as the platform moved around. Hoseok tried his best to joke around and make them laugh, but they could tell that something was up by the end. Hoseoks stomach turned at how dizzy he felt. He took the headset off and his eyes flickered around the room as he struggled to get his bearings once again. He dizzily stepped off the podium with a soft groan, and a hand came to rest itself on his stomach.
"Are you ok Hoseok? You look really pale." Namjoon said, noticing he was even paler than when they started filming. He was so pale he almost looked green. It wasn't good.
"I-" Hoseok battled with his brain, as he knew he should tell the truth but there was something in him that was telling him he should continue to lie and say he's ok.
"Yeah it's just... made me really dizzy." Hoseok says, settling for a compromise. He was half telling the truth.
"Why don't you just sit down for a moment?" Namjoon suggests, and Hoseok nods, finding a surface to sit on.

He stares at the funky carpet pattern (yknow like the ones they have at bowling alleys and stuff) as the world spins around him, willing his stomach to calm down. Of course, it didn't work, and his stomach continued to grumble and gurgle under his hand. He stayed that way until they finished filming that section, trying to carry on contributing to the action so fans wouldn't see him in this state. As soon as the cameras were cut off, he couldn't hold back any longer.

"Guys I really don't feel good." Hoseok says, bending over with one hand on his knee, the other still resting on his stomach.
"Are you gonna throw up?" Namjoon asked urgently. Hoseok nodded, and the next thing he knew he was being pulled into a toilet stall by Namjoon. He knelt down in front of the toilet, trying to hard to hold back from vomiting, but the nausea sitting in the back of his throat was too strong to ignore.
"I know you don't want to but you gotta let it out hobi, it might make you feel better." Hoseok just nodded, and continued to zone out from panic.
"Do you want me to leave or...?" Namjoon asked awkwardly, and Hoseok shook his head. Namjoon crouched down next to Hoseok and tentatively started rubbing circles on his back. Tae came looking for them, and stopped in his tracks when he saw hoseok bent over a toilet with namjoon rubbing his back.

"uuhhm... Director-nim wanted to know if hoseok is ok....." Tae says, though its clear he already has his answer.

"He's really nauseous, I don't know if he'll be able to continue filming." Namjoon says. At that point hoseok retches, releasing a stream of vomit.

"oh shit oh shit ok ok ok" namjoon babbled, panicking.

"um, I'll go tell the others." Tae said, before backing out of the room.

Hoseoks eyes scrunched shut as his stomach contracted his intensely painful cramps. He panicked as he didn't get a chance to breathe as streams of burning hot liquid flowed out of his throat. The world span around him and he gasped out at the first chance he got as the nausea started to subside.

"Are you ok?" Namjoon asked, now that hoseok had finished expelling his guts. Hoseok just shook his head, and licked his lips.

"d-do you think you can continue the shoot?" Hoseok just shakes his head. Namjoon sighs, looking around for help that clearly wasn't there.

"I don't think vr is for me..." hoseok says under his breath, with a little chuckle.

"Ok. Hopefully we can get you home. or at least you can still be a part of the shoot but just without using the vr." hoseok nods, and at that point their director walks in to assess the situation.

"ok you weren't lying when you said he was sick, thats for sure." The director says, being met with the bug-eyed stare of hoseok. The epitome of the 🥺 emoji. "What do you want to do hoseok? Do you think you might be able to join in after a rest? or do you want to go home?"

"I don't know..." Hoseok says with a mousey, shaky voice.

"ok, lets just let you rest to the side for a bit while the others continue, and if you still don't feel well after that you can go home." The director suggested, and hoseok just nodded along. He didn't really care what happened as long as he didn't have to use the VR headset again.

The others gathered around at the next vr station, introducing the game. It was the plank game, where there was a plank suspended high in the air and they each had to retrieve one dice of cake from the other end of the plank. Hoseok was so glad he didn't have to do this one considering his fear of heights. While introducing the game, Namjoon also mentioned that hobi was feeling a little nauseous from the vr technology and won't be in the rest of the episode, just so fans didn't go speculating why he suddenly wasn't there. He sat on a chair behind the cameras, watching the others have fun. Even if he couldn't find vr fun, he could at least find joy in watching the others enjoy it. When Jimin went out he brought back two slices of cake, one for him, and one for Hoseok. Hoseok smiles fondly, glad to see his band mates were still looking out for him. However they were all being loud and obnoxious for the camera, and while Hoseok would probably be doing the same, he didn't appreciate the noise right now. It was only working him up more to where he was holding back tears. He just wanted to be home in the peace and quiet.

After that segment was finished, the director checked in with Hoseok again, to see what he wanted to do.
"I'm sorry, I still really don't feel good. I want to go home." Hoseok said, feeling guilty.
"That's ok. Don't worry, we'll take you home. Your health is more important to us Hoseok." The director assured, with a hand on his shoulder. Hoseok just nodded while other staff members faffed around trying to organise a ride home for Hoseok.

The ride came quickly, and the other members said a quick goodbye to Hoseok, before he was sent home. He sat in the backseat, in silence, resting his head on the window. He didn't even have the courage to look at his phone, in fear of getting car sick. It was a boring ride home, that didn't make him feel any better.

"Hope you feel better soon." The driver said politely as he dropped Hoseok off back at the dorm. Hoseok just hummed and nodded before letting himself in. He pulled his shoes of with his toes, not bothering to untie them, and flopped on the couch. He switched on the tv to break the silence (ayyy) but the moment the screen turned on his body said no. Apparently any sort of screen was a no for Hoseok right now. Hoseok just sighed, doing his best to switch it to a radio channel so he could at leas have something to listen to. It was a calming classical music channel. He laid on the sofa, with nothing left to do other than let himself drift off into a deep sleep...

When the others got home, they entered quietly, knowing Hoseok was probably sleeping or at the very least resting. And they were right. Hoseok was still dead asleep on the couch. Jimin wondered over, and though he was glad to see the colour had returned to his cheeks, the small whimpers coming from Hoseok only made him worry again. The poor thing was probably having a nightmare.
"Hoseokie, Cmon sweetheart wake up." Jimin said, gently giving his shoulder a little shake. Hoseok just grumbled and continued to whimper. Jimin gave him another little shake, and Hoseok came out of his dreams with a yell, sitting straight up.
"Hoseok are you ok? You were having a nightmare." Jimin said with concern in his eyes. Hoseok nodded, trying to hold it together, but when images of his nightmare replayed in his head, he couldn't help but break down.

There he was. Standing on a single wooden plank 10000 feet in the air. He walked out onto the plank. His legs are wobbly as he looked down. He took one step at a time, only when he went to go take another step, he was already at the end of the plank. He stepped straight off the edge, falling and falling. Just as he was about to hit the ground....

He woke up. Tears where now spilling out of his eyes as his body was still feeling the panic that the dream made him feel. He was too panicked to notice Jimin had sat himself down next to him and wrapped his arms securely around him, slowly shushing him and he wiped away every tear that fell.
"It's ok sunshine, it's just a dream. You're ok." Jimin said at almost a whisper, as Hoseok finally started to calm down, and come back to reality.

"Are you ok hobi? Not feeling sick anymore?" Jimin asked once Hoseok had fully calmed down.
"No I think I'm fine." Hoseok said, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
"Good I'm glad." Jimin said, giving his back a small pat.

"I'm never using vr again."

YAAYYY ITS FINALLY OVER.
I had a real hard time with this chapter. I've just had no inspiration recently, but I think I'm getting it back. I'm thinking of maybe starting to change up my writing style a little bit maybe. Maybe start writing from members povs idk we'll see. Anyway, yeah, look forward to new stuff cause I'm excited to start writing some new things!
See ya in the next one!
안녕!!!!!!👋🏻
