Jungkook ~ Alone Pt. 2

This is a part two !! If you need to go back and re-read, I don't blame you, I had to too :')

-------------------------------------

Y/n's Pov

I blink awake the next morning, squinting at the sun coming in through the blinds. I carefully stand up, trying not to wake Jungkook up, and walk to the kitchen. I grab my phone and call my best friend, Jimin.

"Y/n? Why're you calling this early? You know I don't do mornings." I roll my eyes, trying to keep my patience up and deal with his morning crankiness. I know he can't help it, but he's so stubborn

"Jimin, listen I need your help." I guess he could tell I was being serious because any whining he was doing before was completely gone now. "Alright, I'm up. What going on?" I sigh into the phone and look at the raven-haired boy I helped yesterday. How the hell am I supposed to explain this? "I think it'd be easier if you just came over and saw for yourself."

-

"Y/n, what do you mean you just found him? And you slept next to him? You can be really stupid sometimes. What if he killed you or something?" He tsks as he looks down at the sleeping boy. He's trying so hard not to wake him, but also trying to scold me at the same time. It'd be quite comical if I wasn't freaking out. "I know, I know! But what now? He didn't kill me. I think he genuinely has nowhere else to go."

Jimin's about to say something when Jungkook starts to stir. He blinks slowly and then sits up. "Y/n, who's this?" He looks at Jimin with a sort of hesitance that I can only place as distrust. You can tell he's been through some shit. "It's okay, Jungkook. This is my best friend, Jimin. He came to help with breakfast." Jimin gives me a look of irritation, but sighs anyways, complying to my request. "It's nice to meet you, Jungkook. I guess we'll get started with breakfast." He glares at me before walking into the kitchen.

I sit down next to Jungkook and look at the floor. It's silent for a moment, so I ask, "Did you sleep well?" He nods and gives me a small smile. "Jimin brought some clothes for you to borrow until I can get you new clothes. I hope they fit okay. You're a little taller than him, but he brought things that were a little bit baggy on him, so they would be more fitting to you." He nods and thanks me. I point him to the bathroom so he can go freshen up and then I join Jimin in the kitchen.

"You really think this is a good idea? You don't know anything about him, Y/n. What if he's lying about his family?" I shrug and pull out the batter to make pancakes. "I can tell he's not. The way he looked at you before he knew who you were proved that to me. He's very wary about new people. He was wary of me until he saw that I wasn't going to do anything to hurt him."

Jimin rolls his eyes and gets the pan out while I mix the batter with vanilla, sugar, and cinnamon. I dump a pool of batter onto the pan and Jimin starts waiting to flip it around. I watch him as he shakes his head, looking down at the forming pancake. "Y/n, I just feel like there's so much more to this story. There are too many holes, too many things that are left unknown. I'm contemplating staying here until we figure out what this guy's deal is."

Before I can answer, Jungkook walks in, looking completely clueless of the previous conversation. "Thank you, Jimin for the clothes, they fit pretty well." Jimin's cold expression softens and he sighs, "It's no problem, sit down," he points to the table. "Breakfast will be ready soon." Jungkook nods and sits, watching us cook. Jimin turns back to the pancakes, but asks, "So Jungkook, how old are you?" Jungkook frowns and hesitates, but answers anyway. "Twenty-one." Jimin nods and studies him. "Why aren't you living on your own?"

Jungkook glares at Jimin. "Not all of us can live on their own at twenty-one, but thanks for your concern." Jimin goes red and puts another pancake on a plate. "Breakfast is ready," he mutters, bringing the plates to the table and sitting down beside me. I feel the need to make up for what Jimin said so I say, "He didn't mean it like that, Jungkook, he's just protective over me. We just want to figure out what exactly happened so we know how to help and get you back on your feet."

Jungkook sighs and puts his head in his hands. I look and Jimin, scared that we've made him cry. He gives me a reassuring shrug. Such help you are. Jungkook looks up and sighs again. "Alright," he says, "I'll tell you, but you can't just go around talking about this, you guys could be in danger if you're carelessly talking about this." I frown and look and Jimin. He looks just as confused as me.

"My dad got caught up in gambling. Nothing harmless until he started asking for favors from people. Rigging the games, asking for money to play, the whole works. We lived comfortably, but didn't have much money for extra uses so when it came down to repaying them, he couldn't." He pauses, taking in a sharp breath. I put my hand on his shoulder, hoping it's enough to keep him from breaking. I think he leans into it, but I can't tell if I'm imagining it.

"I was at work when they came, but on my way home I knew something was wrong. It was like this horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. When I reached my house the front door was wide open, I didn't even bother going inside. I knew what would be there and I didn't want to see it. I called the police and went back to work. I told my boss that I had to quit immediately. He was confused, but I couldn't give him anymore details, for obvious reasons. After that I ran. I didn't know where to go, but I knew I needed out of there." It's quiet for a moment, everything's gone still, but Jimin surprises us all by being the first to talk. "Where did you live before this?"

"On the other side of Busan. I took a train all the way here." I nod, it all starting to make sense. "So that's how you ended up in this area. The train isn't far from here. He nods and looks down. I give Jimin a look that says "I told you so" and he rolls his eyes, but nods. He knows he's not lying. "Alright, Jungkook. Thank you for telling us. You'll stay with Y/n until we can get you a job and a place to stay."

Jungkook doesn't speak for a second, turning his face away from us. His shoulders shake very slightly and I can tell he's crying. I get up, hugging him. He hesitates, but hugs me back, hiding his face in my stomach. "Thank you, both of you." Jimin sighs and puts his hand on Jungkook's shoulder. "Alright, come on. We've got to get you clothes so we can get you a job and so you don't have to keep wearing mine." He laughs. We all get up and get ready, knowing we've got a lot ahead of us.

Hey! I hope you enjoyed the part two!

I'm thinking about making a part three and then stopping it there. Also this is a bit long overdue, but I hope you can forgive me for that 😅💜
