Siren of the Lost Cove
"Used to sail the seas... the best Captain you ever did see."
The guard rolled his eyes at Jimin who held the bars in front of him.
"I don't care."
"Well you should." Pouted Jimin, as he took a seat on the dusty cot. The guard went back to reading his paper not even giving him the time of day.
"Disrespectful Swine!" He spat, throwing himself back, arms folded across his chest. Jimin's little outburst got the guards attention. He walked over to the cell and banged his baton against the rusty bars.
"Shut it! Or I will feed you to the crocodile!"
"I'm not Captain Hook... Crocodiles don't scare me."
"Why you little-"
Jimin smirked, rolling onto his side. He rested his head on his hand.
"Little?"
"You-"
"Captain?"
"Scallywag!" Screeched the guard.
"More like The Amazing Captain Park Jimin." Jimin winked at him. Which flustered the guard.
"Cat got your tongue?"
The guard looked like he was about to blow. His rounded face as red as the rubies Jimin had stolen from a chest meant for the new Queen.
How was he to know that's who they were for when he pillaged the ship.
His crew were hanging in the gallows now and as for his ship... well, he was pretty sure they sunk the Jams so it could sleep with the clams.
"Stop!" Cried the guard. His fists were balled at his sides and he was stomping his spit shined boots.
"Only if you listen." Jimin smiled sweetly, still perched on his fist. The guard sunk down to the dirty cobblestone floor. His once pristine uniform riddled with dirt.
"Fine..." he sighed in defeat. He couldn't take another wink from the handsome prisoner who called himself a Captain.
Jimin smiled, his eyes disappearing when he did so. The fact that finally out of 4 night guards one caved. Made him so happy. He just needed to convince him that he was better for the sea than anything. Certainly not swinging in the gallows from his neck.
"Have you heard of the Lost Treasure of Kim?"
The guard shook his head, rubbing his temples.
"Well it is said that the Kim brothers placed an awful curse upon their lost treasure. That who ever found it would be forever blind."
"Blind?"
Jimin nodded before continuing.
"Yes...blind. Well there was this horrific storm one evening on the once tranquil seas. Sending my ship crashing into some jetties on a mysterious island."
The guard dropped his hands to his lap, now listening intently to Jimin's story.
"This sounds like any other shipwreck treasure island..." mumbled the guard.
"Don't interrupt..."
Frowning immensely the guard kept quiet.
"Well, we all made it out alive. Aside from the ship... we'll call her Nari..."
Jimin smiled.
"Well upon shore there were many peculiar things. Tiny stones lead down a pathway covered in colorful trees that held the most stunning fragrant flowers. This is where we lost Namjoon."
Sighing deeply, Jimin sat up and leaned against the cool wall of his cell.
"He sure did love trees. Well... Nature really. The rest continued on. Looking around at all the different colors. Some that we had never seen before. We didn't even notice when Namjoon had disappeared."
The guard scratched his head. Jimin continued, while gazing up at the full moon through the tiny cell window.
"Ah... yes Jin was the next to go. Much like Namjoon he was rather fond of flowers. Come to realize that the island was playing on our love of things. Showing up stunning representations of them. Only for us to be swallowed whole by the creature that lurks nearby. "
"Creature?!" The guard asked incredulously, he wasn't sure if he believed a word the handsome man was saying. A tear fell down Jimin's soft cheek.
"Yes... a terrifying beast. One you never see coming. We traveled deeper into the rainbow-like forest. One by one being picked off.... only when it was myself and Yoongi left that we realized the others were missing."
Jimin sat quietly for a time, staring at his hands. The guard waited patiently.
"What's your name?" Jimin asked, curious. He was tired of the Author referring to the man as 'The Guard.'
"Yoshi..."
"Oh nice... Yoshi could I have a cup of water? I'm parched."
Yoshi got up from the floor, moving slowly toward a pitcher sitting on a broken down desk riddled with old papers. Dusting a cup off with his shirt sleeve he poured some water in it.
Jimin smiled a mischievous grin behind Yoshi's back. When the man turned around, he quickly changed his expression to that of gratitude.
"I wouldn't give him that if I were you." A lazy voice droned. Yoshi turned his head to see a man leaning against the wall by the door. His hair was black and his attire matched. His skin however was ghostly pale in the moonlight.
"Wh-who are you?"
"AW come on Yoongi!"
The dark haired man shook his head in defiance.
"You will not escape this place so easily."
Jimin glared at Yoongi, while Yoshi looked from one man to the other.
"Who are you!" Yoshi asked a bit more sternly.
"Keeper of the Sirens of Lost Cove." He muttered tiredly. He licked his lips before approaching the cell that held one of his most delinquent Sirens.
"You've been a bad little pet." He whispered. Jimin pouted at Yoongi.
"Why can't he have the water?"
Jimin smirked, Yoongi turned to look at Yoshi.
"The creature he speaks of in his little made up story in some parts. Well that would be Jimin."
"How? He looks so adorable and innocent... isn't he a Captain?"
Yoongi narrowed his eyes at the numbskull guard.
"Keeper of Sirens... Sirens lure you in with visions of things you desire most."
Yoshi stared at Jimin confused. He was a handsome young man... how could that be what he desired most?
"That's impossible... why would a man be what I desire most?"
"I cannot tell you the secrets of your heart." Yoongi stated coldly.
His demeanor a bit more hostile now. The stupidity of the guard was enough to kill anyone in this little city. Jimin was the worst. He could shift into damn near anything and when Yoongi looked at him. It took everything to see him for the monster he was and not his lost Love Hoseok. For that is what his heart desired most.
"Why are you here?"
"You need to release him to me."
Yoshi shook his head. "I can't do that. I have orders to hold him for judgement at the gallows."
"There will be no such judgement." Hissed Yoongi taking several swift steps in the heavy set guards direction. Yoshi gulped, fear washing over him. The man before him was dangerous; he could sense that.
He'd only heard the tales of the Sirens of the Lost Cove. His brother Yashi told him about it. Said no one ever got out alive.
"I can pay you in blue sapphire for your silence. You'll never work again. You could be a king if you will."
Yoshi contemplated the deal in his head. Becoming hyper aware of the Siren Jimin's eyes on him. When he looked through the bars at him, he wished more than anything that he could touch him. Save him from the dark clothed man standing beside himself.
Save me...
Jimin's singsong voice rang in Yoshi's mind. He stared dumbfounded at the beautifully handsome man. His eyes now shone a ruby red color. Much like the Ruby's they said he had stolen.
"Do not..."
Jimin's head snapped towards Yoongi with a death glare on his once serene face.
"He is weak of mind"
"Obey..." Yoongi warned. Jimin's face flickered to that of Hoseok's for a split second.
"I swear I will lock you in Davy Jones' locker for eternity if you don't stop!"
Jimin looked back at the guard. Then bowed his head in defeat.
"Fine."
Yoongi turned back to Yoshi. Hoping to make a deal with him. But right as he turned, the man hit him hard on the head with his baton multiple times. Yoongi fell to the floor, knocked out cold.
"I'll save you..." Yoshi smiled, reaching for the keys on his belt. With shaky hands he unlocked the door.
The last thing he heard was the sweetest laugh, before his blood sprayed across every surface within the room.
