Camera Shy

"I don't think I'll ever get that smile right." I giggled, stroking the brush across the canvas, while my model moved yet again. For the life of him he just couldn't sit still.

"Sorry..." he mused in his low voice. I could never get enough of the soothing tone. I could listen to him speak all day. Except for at this moment in time when I'm trying to get that damn boxy smile right.

"Shhhh..."

He smiled wider, his cheeks coming up to hide his eyes. The very eyes that draw you in. The ones that stared back at me from my painting. I don't even know if I got them right. But they were just as mesmerizing.

I tugged at my lip, taking in every little detail of his lips before I brought my brush back down. I stayed working on his lips for a few minutes not noticing that he was no longer sitting on the chaise lounge.

"Oh..." he murmured close to my ear making me jump. Thank goodness I had put the brush down.

"TAEHYUNG!" I squeaked, swatting at the half naked man. He laughed taking a seat on the stool next to me.

"You are so talented." Taehyung smiles, looking at the painting. I was slightly embarrassed. I don't like for people to see the work before it's done. Even if he hired me on commission to come to his house for this.

"Thanks..."

Carefully, I added a few final touches to his eyes and a light shadow near his lip and I was done. Or at least as done as I was gonna be with him sitting so close to me.

Taehyung stretched his arms out, yawning. He had been sitting for what seemed like hours in the same position. Art takes time. However, had he sat still when I said to... we would have been done sooner and I wouldn't have cancelled my dinner date mid session.

My stomach grumbled at the last thought, drawing the attention of the handsome man beside me.

"Hungry?"

I nodded, yet again embarrassed. Stupid stomach how could you betray me in front of this man. I rubbed the back of my head.

"Want to get dinner with me?" Taehyung asked casually. Like they were old friends going to dinner like it was nothing.

I barely knew the guy. However, I'm hungry and I will never turn down food. I didn't get this booty and thighs from starving myself. Ugh... let me stop.

"Sure..."

He smiled that boxy smile before pulling his shirt over his head. I was slightly disappointed, but could you imagine what would happen if he went outside like that?

I might have to beat someone up to protect his well sculpted self. We don't need that.

Grabbing my wallet and a jean jacket we left the studio apartment. Instead of taking a car we decided to walk. Simply because it was nice out. I guess you could say we were taking the scenic route.

"How long have you been painting?" He asked me, putting a pair of oversized Gucci sunglasses on then stuffing his hands in his brown coat. It almost seemed like he wanted to hide.

Literally could have just driven. I rolled my eyes internally.

"Since I was about 5.... I received an art set for my birthday and haven't stopped drawing or painting since." I smiled reminiscing. I actually still have the case the set came in.

"That's amazing."

I continued to smile walking alongside him. He was so tall and I looked like an infant next to him. Height wise not by looks. I am a blob in comparison to his exceptional beauty.

A little ways down the street we spotted a noodle bar. The atmosphere seemed friendly with beautiful earth tones to match. The person who owned the shop had so many pictures of trees. But somehow they all worked well to give you a sense of calm and serenity. Like they really wanted to focus your chi. I think that's right.

We took a seat next to a picture of a twisting oak tree. All it's knots and branches cascading down telling a story. I lost myself in the ethereal beauty of it until I heard the shutter of a camera lens.

When I looked over Taehyung was holding a Canon camera up to his face. His finger placed delicately on the button.

"What are you doing?" I asked. I could only hope he wasn't taking a picture of me.

"The scenery is mesmerizing in here. All it was missing was the centerpiece." His voice was low, the camera never moving from his eye as he snapped another picture.

"Centerpiece?"

He nodded, lowering the camera.

"You."

My face heated up. Was it hot in here or just me? He chuckled at me.

"You're so cute when you get flustered."

I shifted awkwardly in my chair. He wouldn't stop staring at me with that extreme look in his eye.

"What can I get for you?" A strained voice asked.

"Help..." I whispered. Taehyung raised an eyebrow, while a smile played across his lips.

"Excuse me?"

"Uh... spicy noodles..." I blurted out. Fuck! I don't even like spicy food. I think I'm just gonna die today.

"Okay..."

I guess Taehyung ordered, because the girl disappeared moments later. I was wallowing in self pity instead of trying to change my order before she left.

"You okay?" His deep sensual voice broke my internal panic. I looked up at him, the anxiety rising.

"I don't even like spicy noodles."

"I figured... I changed it when you looked like you were going to faint the instant you said it."

Wait, what?

He just smiled at me, bringing his camera to his eye. Adjusting his focus before snapping another picture. The subject wasn't participating this time. I threw my hands up over my face. He made 'tsk' noise and then stared at the screen with a pout.

"I now understand why you got frustrated when I moved."

Taehyung spoke softly without looking up.

"Oh..."

A smile replaced his pout when he looked up at me.

"You've painted me... would you be so kind as to let me photograph you someday?"

He is so strange.

"You hired me to..."

"And..."

"Well... I don't need pictures of myself."

"Who said they were for you?"

That's a bit creepy.

"If not for me, then who?" I asked not really expecting the answer.

"Me." His ears turned pink with his response. The way he whispered 'me' had my heart racing. All I wanted was to get paid for a painting. I wasn't expecting to like the person I painted. Let alone them like me. Does he like me?

"That way I always have a way to see you."

"Why would you want to see me?"

He leaned forward with a grin.

"Because you're the best piece of art in this world."
