Talks with: Namjoon

Topic: Guys

You were both outside enjoying the summery climate of Malta. The group was filming at this island location for the next few days. Each member paired up for the day for a 'Friend Outing' and you got Namjoon!

After an eventful day of museums, shopping, and learning about several historical sites, it was time for a nice meal. Sitting under the shaded restaurant table, the two of you impatiently waited for your food, fanning yourselves with museum pamphlets and checking over your shoulder every minute for the waiter.

"At least the view is nice," Namjoon says while looking toward the vast blue sea just below the hill.

"Yeah! It is nice," You agree while sipping your water. "It's just soo hotttt!!"

Namjoon chuckles at your statement and fixes the black cap on his head. "Seriously. I made sure to put extra sunscreen on today; but at least there's no humidity."

"I guess..." You slump over while drinking from your straw.

"I just hope they bring our food out soon. I want my steak!" He looks behind him with clenched fists.

You wipe the sweat from your forehead and sigh. Then, a Hispanic looking guy and his equally handsome friend enter the outdoor restaurant, walking past your table and towards an empty one behind Namjoon. As they entered, you glanced at them with no care about them seeing you stare. Their brown skin and his friend's long wavy hair made your insides tingle in the best way possible. The strangers also held your eye contact, smiling and chatting among themselves before taking a seat.

Still slurping your water, you took several shameless peeps at the duo a few tables away, admiring their physical fitness: the long-haired guy seemed like a swimmer somehow.

"What are you so interested in behind me?" Namjoon asks while grinning.

You look at him and sit up straight, running a hand through your short hair. "Nothing."

"You're so obvious when you find someone attractive."

"What are you talking about?"

Namjoon snickers. "Your eyes become predator-like and your mouth drops all like--" He tries mimicking your thirsty state, making weird huffing sounds while his hands form imaginary claws.

"I don't look like that." You cut your eyes at your older friend.

"Whatever you say!" He shrugs and checks behind him. Still no waiter. You also check behind him, getting a nice view of the Hispanic hottie.

"Ooh..." You croon in a low voice.

Namjoon's big head whips around and a huge smile appears on his face, letting his dimples show.

"I told you. Why don't you go ask for their number?" He rests his elbows on the table.

You scrunch your nose, disgusted at his suggestion. "No!"

"Why not? If you like them--"

"I don't know them. Plus, guys only want one thing these days. It's a waste of time."

"Isn't it a waste of time drooling over someone if you're not even gonna make a move?" He sips his lemonade then makes a sour face afterward.

The Hispanic heartthrob looks your way, smiling while holding his menu. You blush and look down at your drink.

"Ohmygohh.." You silently squeal.

"Aigoo, Milo-ssi. Make a move or cut it out. You're making me look bad."

Looking up at Namjoon you ask: "How am I making you look bad?"

"We're on a friend's trip, remember? How do you think I feel about you thirsting over other guys when... you have a handsome friend like me?" He makes a V with his thumb and pointer finger, placing it underneath his chin while grinning with closed eyes.

"Eww.." You groan out, unimpressed by your friend's corny line and attempt at acting cute. "Who are you?"

"I'm sorry." He covers his face, dimples showing in embarrassment.

--

You were halfway finished with your risotto dish when Namjoon asked: "So, you wouldn't ever consider me as someone to thirst over?"

You stuff your mouth with food. "You're not my type, sorry."

"Well, what is your type?" He asks before drinking his freshly poured glass of water, seeming genuinely interested.

"You know... hot, athletic, brown skin, maybe long hair."

"You're describing them aren't you?"

"How'd you know?" You smirk and glance at Hispanic Hercules, feeling shy when your eyes meet for the tenth time that night.

"Aish... so I don't have a chance?" Namjoon grins. "I have two of those things. I-I'm tan. I-I can grow out my hair," he states with confidence and offense in his voice.

"You have much of a chance as Trump having one intelligent cell in his body--"

"Ooohh, wow. Really?" Namjoon covers his mouth while laughing then looks at you with a raised eyebrow. You simply chew your food, grinning with no response.

"So mean. You are so mean to me," Namjoon remarks while glancing at the sea.

"You'll live."

"But for real, and don't take this weirdly, but what's the thing you look for in guys? I wanna know where your head is at?" Namjoon glances at you again, resting his elbow on the table and his chin in the palm of his hand.

You frown. "Why? You answer it."

"I'll answer for me."

"Okay."

"Okay. So, like, for girls..." He blushes while thinking out loud. "I used to only think about physical appearance -- I was young then. But now that I'm older, I'm interested in nice girls, smart girls, you know someone who's confident and not self-absorbed. Like someone who can hold deep conversations about anything."

"I feel like you're a lowkey romantic type," you reply while silently judging.

"Me? I'm not against it." He smiles.

"I can see you taking walks in the rain while discussing job equality. Or like dates in the park while discussing why crabs are going distinct..." You laugh to yourself. Namjoon also chuckles while widening his eyes.

"Ha! That doesn't sound too bad. And crabs should be protected! They're so cute." Namjoon watches you giggle before continuing. "So, it's your turn. What's your type, Milo-ssi?"

You groan dramatically while throwing your head back. "Ughhhhhhh... I guess. Smart guys... creative, not cocky; I really like dancers, too. I don't know."

"Dancers, hm? Why?" He asks with a knowing smile.

"Well, I like to dance, obviously, so it's cool if they like to too. Dancers are just..." You throw up the 'OK' sign with your fingers while winking, making Namjoon chuckle.

"Good? Ha. It all makes sense now..." He glances down at his empty plate.

You cock your head to the side, frowning. "What makes sense?"

"Do you also like guys with 'Min' in their name?" He asks, trying to be sly. His comment makes your heart race, but instead of feeling embarrassed you feel annoyed.

"Stop. What are you talking about?" Your eyebrows knit together.

"Ah, you know," he replies with a smirk while drinking water.

"I don't know, sorry." You shrug and drink water.

"Jimin-ssi and Taemin-ssi... awfully great dancers," he remarks with a lowered voice.

"Can you not?" You fail at hiding your blush, which makes Namjoon chuckle even more. You rest your chin on the palm of your hand, looking at your friend with no expression.

"You can't fool me. Everyone already knows you like them, especially Jimin-ssi."

You would deny his claim, but you don't really have any energy to. It's been out there for a while now, but you never really wanted to talk about it. Only J-Hope knows some of the feelings you have towards the aforementioned men, but you kept a lot to yourself. It was embarrassing.

"You don't need to feel embarrassed," Namjoon says, reading your mind. "Milo-ssi, I know I tease you about it every now and then, but seriously, it's not a big deal. It's cute."

"Whatever."

"I wouldn't be teasing you if I didn't think it would actually work."

Tired of this topic, you flip through the dessert menu. You sigh deeply.

"I'm just saying: both good guys."

"Not that I'd actually date them," you mumble.

After a few more minutes of random conversation - and plates of dessert - you both head back to your hotel.
