Visiting day.

The gates of Brynnica Academy were filled with multi-millionaires cars parked to visit their children.

It was a sight to behold. Giving a Met gala.

The students were all dressed in their uniforms and standing in their dorms as they welcomed their parents.

Michael groaned in frustration as he stood in front of his dorm, panting heavily. Treasure hadn't woken up and he was trying to compose an excuse to tell his mother.

"I have to go, my parents are here," Samuel said solemnly, patting Michael on the back before leaving.

Favour still stood with him, she was also going to try and delay her aunt before she found out about Treasure.

"Kayden!" Michael stiffened as his mother's voice rang through the hallways. Students began taking pictures of the billionaire as she walked to her son.

"Wow it's really her!"

"I never thought I'd see her!"

Dressed in Yves Saint Laurent coupled with Jimmy Choo heels, Ashley Overland looked so sophisticated. She could be mistaken for a teenager herself if you didn't know her.

Her natural long hair wrapped in a neat bun. And her assistant, Aunty Ines stood beside her with a tablet and purse in her hand.

"Mom!" I said hesitantly as I hugged her, the feeling of nostalgia wafting me as I sighed. I missed her so much.

"How have you b-Kaia! How've you been?" She turns to my cousin Favour hugging her tightly.

My hands were sweaty as I closed my eyes. Please don't ask . Please don't ask.

"So where is your sister? Or is she too busy to greet me?" My mom asked, annoyance laced in her tone as she stepped into my dorm.

"No mummy, it's not like that. Treasure- treasure has something she's doing." Favour chirped in but my mom stared at us suspiciously.

I was a bad liar.

But my sister, she didn't even have to lie. Mom always believed her.

I missed my sister.

"Where is my daughter?" She glared at me this time, her hand flew to her mouth.

My mom hated sending us to a boarding school, because her twin sister, Favour's mom died in school.

"Michael Kayden Overland! I am talking to you!" She slammed her Chanel purse on the bed angrily as Favour and I flinched in response.

"The bay!"

Immediately she walked out and we ran after her. "Mom please calm down!"

Disappointment and anger laced in her eyes as she walked into the clinic. She pushed the doors open and my eyes widened at the sight.

Treasure was dressing the bed while Zayaad sat on the chair watching her as they conversed. She turned to face us and her tired eyes widened and she smiled.

"My baby!" Mom rushed to Treasure hugging her tight. I could see the wince on her face but she masked it with happiness.

"Mom! You should have called me the minute you got here! Why stress yourself walking all the way?"

Mom glared at me and Favour, "Well, your siblings were acting all weird when I asked of you and..." she turned to Zayaad who was already standing, " Zayaad."

"Greetings, Mrs Overland."

"How do you know him, mom?" I asked and she waved me away. "I'm not talking to you now, Michael. Ignore me."

I sighed, staring at my sister who tried to put on the best front for my mom. It was my fault I couldn't protect her.

"How do you know him, mom?" Treasure repeated my question and my mom sighed, rubbing her hand on her forehead.

"I thought I'd have more time to explain it to her." Mom said to Zayaad.

Explain what? What is she talking about?

"My father wanted me to get to know and be close to my betrothed as early as possible so he stopped homeschooling me and enrolled me here." Zayaad explained and mom nodded.

"What's going on mom?" Treasure asked again, frustration laced in her voice.

"Treasure Keisha Overland, meet Zayaad Amir Bello. Your betrothed."

"WHAT!?"

As the news sank in, Treasure's heart pounded with disbelief and anger. She stared at her mother, searching for any sign that this was a joke, but the seriousness in her mother's eyes shattered any hope of that.

"Betrothed?" Treasure repeated, her voice barely a whisper, her hands trembling.

Her mother nodded solemnly.

"But I don't even know him!" Treasure protested, her frustration bubbling to the surface. "How can you just decide something like this without even consulting me?"

I sighed, hoping Treasure would not exert so much energy and faint again.

Zayaad stood silently, his gaze fixed on Treasure with no emotions on his face.

Treasure took a deep breath, trying to steady her racing heart as she looked at her mother with pleading eyes. "Mom, please... Why? Why didn't you tell me about this before?"

Her mother's gaze softened, mirroring the pain and regret reflected in Treasure's eyes. "I wanted to, sweetheart. I truly did. But there were... complications."

Treasure furrowed her brows, confusion mingling with frustration. "Complications? What kind of complications?"

Before her mother could respond, a staff member interrupted them, calling her mother's name urgently. "Mrs. Overland, we need you in the main hall immediately."

Treasure's heart sank as her mother sighed, shooting her a helpless glance. "I'm sorry, T. We'll talk about this later, I promise, I'll call you."

My sister scoffed, falling to her knees as Favour ran towards her. "Don't touch me!"

Zayaad walked out after mom and I just stood staring at the angry mess of my sister. I couldn't say anything because I knew this day was coming.

I didn't have a roommate and that made me live freely. Tears flowed into my pillow as I yelled angrily.

The dial tone continued and the call finally rang. "Princess?"

My eyes widened and I sat up placing my phone to my ear as my dad's voice rang out. The background was loud and noisy.

"Princess, can you hear me?"

"Daddyyy!"

"Let me call you back, princess." He hung up and I groaned in anger.

My phone rang again and I picked it immediately. " Princess, can you hear me now? Are you crying?"

"Daddyyy!! Tell me mummy is joking! And she's joking about this whole marriage thing!"

There was a long pause on the other end of the line before her father finally spoke, his voice heavy with regret. "I'm afraid she's not, sweetheart. Your mother and I have discussed this at length, and we believe it's what's best for you and our family."

I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces at my father's words.

"But... I don't want this, Daddy," I choked out, my voice trembling with emotion. "I don't want to marry someone I don't love, someone I don't even know. Please, Daddy, you have to help me."

Her father let out a weary sigh, his voice filled with sadness. "I wish I could, sweetheart. But it's the best for you.."

"Why him daddy? Of all people! I hate him so much daddy!"

Tears streamed down Treasure's cheeks as she buried her face in her hands, feeling utterly helpless and alone. "What am I supposed to do, Daddy? How am I supposed to go through with this?"

Her father's voice softened with compassion. "Please princess, please... Trust me, we wouldn't make any choices that would never benefit you."

I sighed, "Okay daddy."

"Thank you princess, I love you and I'll make it up to you." Then he ended the call.

I obviously wasn't okay with it.

In the rich world, it was inevitable your parents would find some potential family to marry you off to. There was no true love in the world of the rich. You had to learn to love.

But nowadays, I think their guilt caught up to them as they now find a match for you when you're young and make the both of you learn to live and love each other before you finnaly get married.

There's no excuse of not knowing the person anymore.

My mind flashed to the ocean blue eyed boy my parents had paired me with.

Why him?
