Chapter Five: Aunt?

Months had passed, almost a year. The twins were smart on how they killed. They made sure to not leave evidence nor to go on a streak.

They were smart enough to kill a few people and bury them deep somewhere other than their backyard.

For that time, 'Zeke' had become more timid and docile. He did things without any question to it, he became more fearful of others that weren't the twins.

The twins had been sweeter to him, loving him and giving him treats when he was behaved. Savannah had talked with Ace about moments the uncle was good and happier with them. In fact she had a stuffed doll that was old..The one good thing from the past when she was about 5.

However, during this time, the house would often get calls from an odd number out of state. Ace was always the one to answer it.

On the other side was always a woman. She sounded forgien, with a slight accent. She was very polite and always asked for a Cassius Farewell.

The young nephew didn't know who that was so he told the woman so and hung up. After a while, the phone calls stopped and everything seemed to go back to normal. That was till a knock was heard on their front door.

The twins held a confused look, but went to the door anyhow. Savannah though brought a small hunting knife with them just in case.

Standing outside was a woman with shoulder length hair that was pulled back into a small ponytail. At the tips of her hair, it was dyed a soft cotton candy pink and blue. It oddly went well with her caramel colored hair.

The woman wasn't very tall, maybe a couple inches taller than five foot. She also wasn't very intimidating. She was more on the cute, healthy, plump side.

Gently, she leaned down with a rather small, caring smile. Her eyes were relaxed along with her body language.

"Hey, sweethearts," She whispered softly. "Is Cass sleeping?" She questioned softly.

Savannah looked to her brother, tilting her head up some as he had grown a bit taller. Ace just stared at the woman, confusion in his eyes.

The woman quickly saw this and made an O with her mouth. She then gave a soft giggle.

"I'm sorry, I'm talking about your Uncle? Is he home?" She was still sweet.

The little tween was the one who answered. Her tone showed she was still confused on who the woman was.

"He is, he's in his room."

The woman nodded, standing up to her small height. "Alright, can I come in? I have to speak with him about a few things."

The twins looked to each other, staring for a second before focusing back on her. She was very pretty with a soft face and plump lips. Her eyes were also a pretty almond like shape.

Ace nodded to the woman, backing him and his sister into the living room. The woman gave them a concerned look, but said nothing as she stepped in.

Ace leaned back some, looking down the hall that led to Zeke's room. He then called out to their pet.

Quickly, Zeke came out of his room, to them. Yet, he froze as he saw her. His face twisted in a scared wince, his body suddenly tensing.

Savannah called to her uncle again, smiling at him sweetly. Quickly, went to them, still rather tense.

The woman looked more confused.

"Cass?" She questioned the odd looking man.

The man she was looking for had a large beer gut and was an unhealthy pale color. He looked as if he could be dead within weeks! Yet, the man that cowered before her could've been confused either as a body trainer or a construction worker!

However, she knew this was the man she was looking for as his eyes cleared from fear to confusion.

"Nadia?" His voice grumbled in a rough, smoker like fashion. However, she had heard his drunken garble that just sounded like nails on a chalkboard.

Quietly, the woman nodded her head with a confusion grin.

"You've gotten into shape!" She chirped in a complimentary tone.

'Cass' nodded, standing up a bit taller. He was getting comfortable around her.

"Yes, I've been... Doing a bit more with the kids." He gave a rough grin.

A cherry laugh left the woman, her lips pulling into a happy smile.

"Good, so you've taken my advice?" She asked, tilting her head off to the side some.

Confusion filled the uncle's eyes as he tried to remember. She did give him advice, but what was it?

Attempting to help him remember, he tilted his head up some. This, however, exposed his deep blue, pleather collar that had a small charm on it.

"Since when did you wear dog collars?" Nadia asked, her lips tight together in confusion.

Zeke gently touched his collar, smiling softly. He then looked up to her and told her. "Since the day they made me their pet."

Nadia paused for a moment, letting the information settle before she cleared her throat and nodded. Maybe it was a good idea for her to come visit.

Ace grumbled a bit, looking annoyed. His annoyed look made their pet wince softly, something that didn't get by the woman.

"Who are you?" The young boy snapped, glaring at her.

The woman gave a soft laugh, as though she remembered something.

"Right, it's been years since you've seen me. I'm Auntie Day, your mother's cousin, but we always considered ourselves more like sisters." The woman chirped happily.

The twins looked at her, shocked. She was part of their family? No... She couldn't be.

Where was she when we needed her? The voice whispered into their ears.

Suddenly her phone rang making her yelp quietly. Quickly, she pulled it out and started talking to someone.

"Danny, I told you I was taking a few days off." She paused. "Okay, maybe a bit-" She stopped talking for a long minute, her hold on the phone growing tighter. "Well, I'm sorry, but I have to be here for my family once in a while!" She finally snapped. "I'm going everywhere for you, I deserve some vacation time." The woman went quiet for a few minutes, her expression turning laxed. "Thank you, Danny." She then ended her call.

Quietly, she turned back to the three that were staring at her with curious eyes.

"I'm sorry, that was Danny from work." She gently bit her lip before continuing. "I hope I can come back tomorrow? I'll bring some sweet cakes." She offered.

Savannah perked up from the word 'sweet' since they didn't have many sweet things in the kitchen. They didn't even have sugar. Ace wasn't quite sure about this woman though. He didn't trust her yet.

Before Ace could deny the woman's request, Savannah happily beat him to it. "Yes! Of course! Please?" The sweet 'angel' gave her best, most innocent eyes to the woman.

Nadia giggled, her body and eyes relaxing. "Of course, Sweetheart!" She turned to Ace. "I take it, you're still a sour type of man."

The boy said nothing, still rather tense. He didn't like her.

The woman gave a quiet sigh before leaving, giving them all a loving smile. Savannah kind of hoped she came back.
