. Hikaru means "shining brilliance"

. They sometimes call him 'Phantom' because he can create phantoms. Not only can he cause one person to hallucinate, but he can make the images of his mind come to life, visible to everyone.

. He uses sign language efficiently even though he's blind.

. The first time he ever heard Darth Vader breathe, he freaked out and almost had a panic attack because, for a moment, he thought his father was there.

. He hates getting the bottom of his feet wet, or hates a wet spot on his shirt or pants. For example, if he's walking in his sock feet through the kitchen and steps in even a drop of water, he changes his socks. But if a drop gets on the top of his foot, he's fine. If he's lightly sprinkled with water from the sink on his pants or shirt, he's fine with it. But if it's a large drop of water in a single place on his pants or shirt, he can't stand it so changes.

. He sometimes gets hiccups when he's startled— only sometimes.

. He hates sand, and whenever he mentions that he doesn't like it, he quotes Anakin Skywalker.

. He is absolutely terrified of heights. He can't see how far up he is, but he feels like he's high up even when only a couple feet up, and it freaks him out because he's afraid of tripping and falling from said height.

. Hikaru is a pretty impatient person, and somehow the fact that he can't see only makes it worse. He'll just stand impatiently and tap either his foot or his cane.

. Even if Hikaru is in a super good mood, he can get pretty ticked off or annoyed if something unexpected happens.

. Hikaru takes antidepressants and antipsychotics.

. One of the meds he takes for his bipolar disorder is Prozac. Prozac is an SSRI medication. He hated it because it caused nausea and fatigue at first, as well as shaking and even anxiety. It also caused headache, dizziness, insomnia, strange dreams, sweating, and hot flashes. It still causes sweating for him, as a lot of antidepressants do cause sweating. Thankfully the side effects don't bother him too much; just the sweating and bed wetting— which he isn't aware that bed wetting is a side effect of Prozac because it isn't listed under the side effects and was never brought up by the doctors. He takes Prozac for both his bipolar disorder and his PTSD.

. Another medication he takes is Saphris, or Asenapine. It helps him think more clearly, as well as prevents severe mood swings and hallucinations. He has to place it under his tongue and allow it to dissolve into his saliva, and he can't eat or drink anything for ten minutes after taking it. It causes his mouth to go numb or tingle sometimes, and it goes away within an hour. It also makes him drowsy and occasionally dizzy or lightheaded. He takes this drug two times a day. Because of some unwanted side effects, he's eventually taken off of this medication.

. He is also on lithium, which is a mood stabilizer and can treat depression in those with bipolar. He gets dry mouth, increased thirst, and sometimes hand tremors on this drug. He later ends up overdosing on lithium on purpose, so later had to switch his medication.
