Chapter 15
"I DON'T WANT to do this." I whined planting my feet down on the bottom of the stairs, unmoving.
"Don't make me do this, Anna." Finn says glaring at me.
"Let me sleep. I actually got a pass from Tyler and this might be the only day, come on."
"Exactly, this might be the only day." Then in the blink of eye, he lifts me up over his shoulder.
"Finn!"
"Bye, Mrs Richards!" Finn shouts walking out of the house.
I vaguely hear my mum reply because I'm too busy staring at Finn's not existing butt, the blood rushing to my head. "Why is your butt so flat?"
"I don't know, genes?" He jumps down the porch, making my head bounce and causing me to be dizzy.
"Maybe because you don't get enough exercise. Like you should be doing today - alone."
"Oh so are you saying yours is flat too?" Finn asks and uses his free hand that not holding me in place to brush over my butt. Practically feeling me up.
"Finn!" He burst out laughing as I kick and slap.
"Okay, definitely not flat."
"I'll murder you. Put me down!" I slap his back, butt, any part my hands could land on.
"On one condition – you'll willingly go to the gym with me." He says not feeling any of the pain I was inflicting on him.
"Fine, I'm already outside anyway." He drops me down and I'm so dizzy, I almost fall down to my butt. "You're a trashy friend you know that right?"
"Whatever you say. Ready?"
Although the weather was still cold from all the rain that has been falling, Finn has on a black vest and sweatpants. I have on shorts and a crop vest and over it all I have a flannel dress shirt covering me, then trainers on my feet. I'm going to rid the flannel when we arrive the gym. My hair's up in a messy bun because my so called friend couldn't give me enough time to rest. Waking me up early on a Saturday with no chores is a crime!
Finn and I jog around and around and when we finally reach the gym, we're sweaty and thirsty as hell.
I let him do everything he needs to and soon we're lifting weights, doing bench press and a bunch of other calories consuming nonsense.
"You're gonna make me have abs." I tell Finn, looking down at my tummy that felt as if I haven't eaten in a year.
"And that's a bad thing, why?" Finn grunts releasing the arm pulling thing and flexing his biceps at me.
I huff at him, "straight guys don't dig abs on girls."
"I do." I narrow my eyes at him and he laughs, "but then do gay guys dig abs on girls?"
I pursed my lips in thought but I don't get to reply because I then see Ian coming down the stairs from whatever is on the second floor. He's wearing shorts and Nick long sleeve. His hair is tied up in a tiny bun and for once he doesn't have a frown on him. He's covered in a sheen of sweat and he doesn't see me.
I almost start salivating at the sight of him until Finn throws his shoes at me.
"Stop staring." He grunts and returns back to his arm pulling thing.
I stone the shoe back at him. "What's your problem?"
He sighs, and turns back to Ian, who is now talking to a muscled girl that I think is the receptionist. "I don't know how to feel about that guy."
"Huh?"
"When we talked, he came off as a cool guy but then he shunned me right after and then he goes around to get Matt suspended and out of team."
"Matt did that to himself."
Finn rolls his eyes, "Fine, but he beat up Aiden and don't even start defending him, I know Aiden started it all but," he shrugs, "Aiden's my guy and he almost lost a tooth. Then there's the tattoos and this mysterious fishy air around him."
I pout, "he's a good guy, Finn."
"Maybe, but you can't trust someone like him just like that. Be careful, that's all."
I turn back to Ian and now he's laughing, he's actual laughing with the receptionist and its one of the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. So he's mysterious, so what? He's life is clearly different from ours and only God knows what he has been through. He's a good person and that I'm certainly sure of.
"I like him." I blurt out and Finn smirks.
"I can see that." He shakes his head in amusement. "Run off, I won't be lonely and you won't be ditching me or anything. Don't worry."
I grinned, "I'll be back." After throwing my half empty water bottle at Finn, I make my way towards Ian. Ian sees me before I reach him and he raises his brows in surprise and then his eyes lower down. From my sweaty face, to my crop top, to my stomach, shorts and down my legs. My face heats up as he openly stares.
"Are you done staring?" I ask smirking at him.
"No, not really." He admits and I laugh. Ian smiles, "is it weird that I'm not surprised you're here?"
"And why is that?"
"Well," he looks up, stroking his chin. "You do have a habit of showing up in places I am at."
I gaped at him and slapped his arm, "Coincidences!"
Ian throws his head and laughs, I can't help but smile. "Kidding. The real answer is, you're different from other girls so of course you'll be at the gym."
I smile, "you're kinda right but Finn also dragged me out here and yeah, maybe you're right, I do have a lot of coincidence with cute hot mysterious guys."
Ian smiles, then lifts his head up, "Who's Finn?"
"That potato over there." I point and he nods, "but don't tell him I called him a potato, he likes to believe he's macho."
"Don't we all."
"So what were you doing upstairs?" I ask relaxing on the wall.
"Kick boxing sessions."
"Wow, that's so cool. I know nothing about that."
Ian nods, "I could teach you, I'm free now."
"Raincheck?" Finn says barging into the conversation like a gorilla. I glare at him and he smiles cheekily, then glance down at his phone. "Let's go have lunch and hang out."
I purse my lips in thoughts. I am hungry. I look over at Ian and looks ready to leave. "I'll go if Ian does."
Ian frowns, "Where to?"
I turn to Finn with a raised brow and he smiles, the kind of smile that says I'm not gonna like whatever he's about to say.
"Mine."
Okay, so it wasn't something bad.
But on second thought, I ask. "Just us three?"
Finn slowly shakes his head, "No, but in case you're wondering, Yes. Aiden would be there."
**
"I can't believe you're making me do this." Ian grumbled as we got out of Finn's Bentley.
"Me too." I said and Ian glares at me and I laugh.
"Oh come on, its not a funeral. Get rid of the glum face." Finn says, locking up his car and walking ahead of us. "My place is the bomb and we aren't so bad. You just have to get to know us."
"I already know you guys, by the fist." Ian retorts.
Finn rolls his eyes and walks ahead, entering his grand house. Ian glares at him until he's out of sight and its not until I put my hand in his that he finally looks at me.
"What's up fry fingers?" He links our fingers, raising a brow.
I smile, "Finn wasn't lying when he said his house is the bomb and you don't need to worry about his friends. You have me."
"Fine but I'll hit whoever hits me."
I nod, "touche."
We enter into the grand mansion and I keep my eyes on Ian to study his expression. Finn's house is like one of those houses in movies that can be called a palace. The white marble floors and walls sparkled, matching the white cushions, glass table and huge shining chandelier. There's spiral stairs and even a ball room. A grand dining and most fabulous of all, Finn's personal basement lounge.
Ian's expression didn't change at all as we walked, his eyes didn't even roam around in awe or anything. Its like he's used to things and places like this one, either that or he's just too cool to betray any expression. Its not until we get into Finn's basement that I finally see a quirked brow.
There's noise coming from there and I can clearly detect Aiden's.
"Look who we have here," Aiden says smiling and opening his arms wide as we come into view. His smile and hand drops as he sees Ian, then he frowns as he sees our hands together.
"What have you done, Anna." Lionel says getting up the long sofa chair with a glare directed at me.
I glared back, "what do you mean?"
He shifts his glare to Ian, "Who invited the trash?"
Ian remains cool and I'm the one about to explode. "Watch it Chase."
"Or what?"
"Or someone's gonna get kicked out." Finn says coming down the stairs with a pack of drinks and snacks.
"Yeah, the trash." Lionel continues.
"That's assuming everyone here is trash but since I smell nothing foul, everyone can get kicked out." Lionel glares and Finn nods. "Let's welcome Ian and Aiden please get that frown off your face, it's ugly. You wanted to hang out with Anna, Anna is a duo package now. Right?"
I roll my eyes, "Right. If Ian leaves, I do too."
"Whatever," Aiden says then smiles, grabbing my arm and practically yanking me out of Ian's, putting his hand around me. "It's good to see you, Anna."
"Same." I free myself and return back to Ian, who surprises me by putting his hand around my shoulder. I look at him and his eyes is locked with Aiden's, who is now wearing an almost matching glare. I gulp, "so, what are we doing?"
Finn turns up the speakers and music comes blasting out. "Party, what else?"
Ian and I move to the sofa and I kick my shoes off, relaxing in.
"Alcohol or Coke?" I ask holding two cans out to Ian.
"Coke." Ian replies instantly, snatching the Coke can out of my hand, his eyes on the screen of the flat screen TV showing a paused game.
I'm actually surprised by that. He looked like the alcohol kind of guy. I shrugged opening up the can of alcohol for myself. Thankfully, I'm a heavy drinker, I'll have to drink at least four of these before I actually get drunk. It runs in the family and sometimes, without the knowledge of my mum, my dad and even my grandpa engaged in drinking battles. Ian passes me a game pad and with a smirk we started a gaming duel.
I'm winning and I don't remember when last I've laughed this hard. Ian's face was priceless as I kept on winning and winning him.
"Hey, Ian, right?" Aiden asked leaning down the sofa, his face an inch away from mine.
Ian shoots him a passive look and I just remain silent and when no one replies, Aiden speaks again. "Are you scared of joining us guys or what?"
Ian looks at me, then Aiden, "joining you guys in what?"
"A game of pool." Aiden says smirking, "or are you a little bitch that doesn't know pool? No offence."
"Offense taken, Aiden. Knock it off." I snap and Aiden stands up, raising his hands up in surrender.
Ian tosses me his game pad, standing up. "Since, I clearly ain't winning this. I'll try pool."
All the guys look up in surprise and even Aiden is surprised that Ian took up the challenge.
"But how about we make it Interesting." Ian says walking to the pool table and lifting a stick. "Loser gets to give the winner... A hundred bucks."
Aiden narrows his eyes and I stand up, ready to stop Ian. Aiden's a pro at pool.
"I mean, you can afford that right?" Ian continues ignoring my eye and hand signals.
Aiden glares, "Deal, I'll even make mine two hundred."
"Wohoo, what are waiting for then?" Finn asks throwing the second stick to Aiden.
Oh crap.
"Let the games begin!"
