Day Two ~ Feeling Home At Home

If I tell myself enough times that the titles are witty enough, then it will be true haha.

Enjoy! :)

-----------------------------------------

Thor is proving to be much more livelier when taken out shopping than Bruce is.

"It's all just so new and exciting," he explains.

Right now, Thor, Bruce, and Bobby are out shopping for furniture.

"I didn't see that much in your house," Bobby comments. "Is it a matter of time? Have you just not have had time to work on that?"

Bruce shrugs. "It was never really something we got around to."

"Alright, this is going to take some time, because you're having a housewarming party soon, and there needs to be comfortable places for people to sit," Bobby tells them. "And whatever you choose is going to definitely have an impact on the comfort level and just make it feel more like a home."

Bruce and Thor nod thoughtfully to that, observing all the different chairs in the current area that they are looking through.

"I know that not all people think about this," Bobby adds, "but really, decorating your own space will definitely improve the overall atmosphere."

Bruce never really has thought about things like this. He's just used to Tony having everything all set out and ready, as well as taking care of any sort of shopping--or taking care of finding someone to take care of any sort of shopping. And it's not like Bruce has ever thought about customizing his own space. So this is new. In the past two days, he's had a lot of new experiences.

Thor holds his hand, reminding him that he isn't alone in this.

Bobby leads them around the store; obviously in his element, knowing what he is looking for. With his help, they successfully pick out several things.

"Now that's all sorted, we can finally work on that room full of boxes of yours!" Bobby says in a cheerful tone.

"I knew that we'd touch up on that sooner or later," Bruce grumbles good naturedly. He knows that he's going to get teased this week--but it's all fun and games--so he'll just go with it.

Still, what he says gets Bobby and Thor to laugh.

I love Bruce, Thor thinks happily, beaming. He gazes fondly upon his lovely fiancé, who is wearing a rare smile (well, rare for being out and about in the world).

Thor hopes that he can keep Bruce smiling forever.

I can't wait to marry him.

Without taking up much more time, the trio heads back to the van and starts the journey home.

"Four, five, six..."

"Oh come on..." Bruce chuckles, face flushing.

"Seven, eight..."

"KEEP GOING BOBBY!" Tan yells from just outside the room.

Bobby keeps counting, until he sets down the last box that he took out of the closet. "TEN boxes. What's your reasoning for keeping TEN BOXES FULL OF STUFF in the CLOSET?"

"You really aren't above making a closet joke, are you?" Tan laughs.

"...Some of it is Thor's?" Bruce tries. It's a weak argument. He sounds indignified as he tries to defend himself. He sighs. It's no use.

And even if some of it was actually Thor's, Thor is back with the other Avengers right now, away from here.

"Alright, so there's a really simple way to do this," Bobby assures Bruce. "One box at a time. Do you remember what is in what box? And if there's any category?"

Bruce shrugs a little. "I think so."

"That's going to have to work for now." Bobby sits up. "Hey Tanny! Wanna help unpack boxes?"

"I have nothing better to do than listen to Antoni talk about cuisine, so sure." Tan joins them.

"So which one do you think we should work through first, Bruce?" Bobby asks.

Bruce examines the boxes. True, he doesn't remember most of what he put in there. He has some vague idea, though. He picks out a box closer to him in the pile. "This one. We'll start with this one."

"OMG are we unpacking things?" Jonathan comes to the doorway. "Can I help?"

"Sure," Tan and Bobby wave him in.

"Funnn!"

"Now that we have more people, we can work on more boxes at once," Bobby tells Bruce.

Bruce grins in return. "Sounds good."

It takes time, plus Karamo and Antoni popping in, plus motivational music provided by Jonathan, but they get through all the boxes. Finally, Bruce is seeing things that he hasn't seen in ages visually spread across his bedroom, living room, and other places throughout the house.

"That wasn't so bad, now was it?" Bobby prompts Bruce.

"I probably could have done that awhile ago," Bruce admits.

That gets them all to laugh. Bruce smiles.

He likes being with them. He feels like he's a part of something.

Just like being with the Avengers.

"If you don't mind, I think it's my turn with Bruce," Antoni informs them.

"Fine by me," Bobby says.

"Uh, yeah," Bruce agrees.

Without anything else to say, Antoni leads Bruce out of the bedroom and into Bruce's own kitchen.

Right off the bat, Antoni begins, "Okay, I've been putting this off, but I have to ask, why are there so many pop tarts?"

Bruce rubs the back of his neck subconsiously. "They're one of Thor's favorite foods. It was one of the few things that he liked when he first came to Midga-Earth."

"Alright, I can understand that." Then Antoni opens the cupboard. "But really, this much?"

"Yeah, it kinda went a little over board," Bruce admits.

"It's okay to have junk foods that you like, but how about for now, we let these boxes run out before you go get more, okay?" Antoni advises. "There could be plenty of healthy foods in here instead."

Bruce nods. That's more than reasonable.

"So how much cooking do you do?" Antoni asks.

"I mean...I can cook."

"That doesn't sound to reassuring."

Bruce shrugs.

Antoni thinks for a moment. Then he has a different direction. "Alright, wanna know what I think?"

"Sure."

"I think that you have a great place here," Antoni says. "and from what I've seen outside, you have a great place to set up a mini garden."

"Huh." Bruce doens't have much else to say.

"Fresh, organic foods, without any kind of corn syrup or high fructose sugar, growing at home, and really healthy. And I think you and Thor would have fun."

Bruce takes it all in.

"We don't have to go big," Antoni tells him. "It could be just one food or two, and we can set up mini planters instead of trying to tend to the land."

"I like that idea," Bruce tells him.

"Great," Antoni smiles. "Alright, I'm going to ask Bobby how fast he can build a planter box, and I'm taking you to buy the fertilizer and the vegetables were going to plant."

Bruce smiles back. "Sounds good."

Today, Bobby has been busy. Not only did he restyle the house, he was a big factor working with the unboxing of many boxes, and actually getting the unboxed stuff organized, and now he's building planters.

Antoni and Bruce come back to the house carrying lots of stuff. Bobby is waiting for them.

"Ready?" Antoni asks.

Right before Bruce can respond, he hears someone behind him call his name.

He whirls around, to find Thor with Tan coming up to them.

Bruce smiles. "Thor!"

They close the distance between them and hug.

"AWWWWWWWWW" everyone watching exclaims.

Karamo and Jonathan opens the door after hearing the commotion and goes "AWWW" with them.

"What are you doing here?" Bruce asks Thor.

"I was told that it would be good if I help in the process of beginning to plant our garden," Thor explains, grinning ear to ear. "It sounds like it would be a most wonderful experience!"

"Yeah, it will be," Antoni adds to the conversation. "Ready to start?"

"Yes!" Bruce and Thor tell him.

That's everyone else's clue to leave; they have other work to do.

Antoni smiles. "Then let's begin."

"It was really fun," Antoni says. "It was messy, and a little chaotic in places, but it all worked out just fine. I showed them how to grow tomatoes, squash, and radishes, and I explained how healthy eating really does contribute to healthy living. And, they listened! So...yeah." He smiles. "I think today went well."

-----------------------------

If you think that I brush over some things, like very obviously brush over what it is they actually DO, it's because I'm not an expert at like any of these things but I'm trying okay haha.

I am doing research. Like what's in pop tarts and best foods to grow in planters.

My writing is never consistent. Get over it.

Day Three coming up next! I promise it'll actually be written well! ;)

Please, no homophobia, profanities, hate etc in the comment section.

Best,

~Your Beloved Author (who just wants a long break from school)
