One 

From since before time has ever begun 

Sustaining, upholding, revealing his might 

And calling through darkness the first-ever light 

 One 

Almighty Father, Spirit, and Son 

Communing, creating, and calling the world 

Letting his banner of love be unfurled 

One 

Though he knew they would despise and shun 

And turn their devotion to things not above 

Still he poured out his sanctity, all for love 

One 

Till the dark deed was finally done 

And hidden Face turned, and heard not the plea 

As holy life slowly expired on that tree 

One 

When Trinity conquered and won 

That Death may not be the last thing we will see 

But pass through the waters to live eternally 

 One 

Though we kiss the darkness and hide from the sun 

He holds out pierced hands and the side that once bled 

And calls us to come and eat life-giving Bread
