Chapter Nineteen: "Elemental"
Allison's POV
After Stiles dropped me off, I searched the entire house for my father...or any hunters in general for that matter. Scott was right...something was up with me. I hadn't been feeling myself since my attack in the woods. My eyes kept flashing purple...I didn't understand what it meant. I sat in my room shaking thinking of what happened to my mom after she was bit. When my father finds out about this, will it be my fate too?
"Come on snap out of it..." I told myself as I got into the shower. I just needed to sleep it off, as if that was even possible. I turned the shower gauge all the way until I saw steam coming out of it. The second I stepped in I had this uneasy feeling. All of sudden flashes of images flew through my head. I remember collapsing against the wall but I don't remember what happened after. When I came to I wasn't in the shower anymore. I was in the Hale House covered in blood. I didn't know if it was mine or someone else's. I didn't have my phone or a clue of how I had made it here by foot. I remember when Lydia was being controlled by Peter she trailed off into the woods from the hospital. She was missing for days before she came out of her fuse state.
I scared myself imagining how long I'd been out for. I sat up and got hit with what seemed to be a vision only Lydia would understand. It was Stiles...he was in the woods somewhere with hunters, dogs and the police. I could see Lydia to....she could feel me. I walked around trying to figure of what or who would've wanted me to come here.
"You're magic now my darling." Kate said as she came down the steps. I jumped back staring at myself in the shattered remains of the mirror on the wall. My eyes were glowing purple again.
"Explain...what is happening Kate." I said back to her.
"You survived the venom, soaked up the power and now while you may not shape shift..you are gifted. You've got Lydia's visions and can read people's minds. But your most dangerous gift you have yet to learn Ali." Kate said as she came closer to me.
"Stay back!" I said putting my hands out in front of me. Lighting seemed to course through my body and into my hands.
"Elemental control. As I expected. You're welcome Ali, remember...every gift comes with a price." Kate said as she vanished into thin air. I remember looking at my hands and passing out. I woke up to the door being kicked in.
"Allison...oh my god...Allison thank god." Stiles said as he picked me up in his arms. "You've been missing over a week." He cried. To me it felt like I'd been gone less than 24 hours...but in real time it had been a week. Now I know there's a problem. What had Kate done to me and why did she call this a gift. Stiles is never going to look at me the same once he finds out. I don't think I'll be able to look at myself the same.
"Stiles, we have to talk." I said as he helped me into his jeep. He wrapped my shivering body in a blanket.
"Ali, I've been scared to death this whole week. What is going on with you." I grabbed his hand and closed my eyes. I thought if Lydia and I now had the same abilities I could share thoughts and memories like she did with people. "Ali..." Stiles said about to interrupt my concentration.
"Please Stiles, let me try this I'm terrified right now." I said as he nodded and closed his eyes too. I concentrated on what I wanted to show him and apparently it worked. He let go and stared at me.
"She wants you for something...I don't know what it is yet. But I'm not going to let anyone get the time to figure that out. I will do whatever it takes to protect you Allison. Whatever...I have to go to Derek for the..." I stopped him.
"Stiles..." I said as tears fell down my face.
"Allison I will do what I have to." Stiles said as we drove through the woods. The rest of the ride was silent. Stiles was squeezing my hand the whole time. Comfortable silence in the most horrifying of situations had become a theme for Stiles and I. When our words failed us, our touch always got the true message across.
