Chapter 3

I was home for about three days before the funeral took place for my parents.

"I hate suits." I heard Nate mutter under his breath as he tugged on his collar to loosen it. I smiled sadly. As I was at Nate's house, I remembered more things than I had when I was in the hospital. But I had a cast on my arm, since it was still healing.

We walked into the church foyer, where we were greeted by multiple people who had known our parents and us.

"Hey Nate." I heard one man say. I was walking beside him, since I didn't remember many of the people. "I'm sorry that you have to go through this."

"Thanks Hunter." Nate replied. "Come on, Rose. We gotta sign in." He and I walked over to the list, where we both signed our names. We then sat in the front.

*afterwards, since I have no idea what to put here cause funerals suck (I've been to three, two of which were a long time ago, and one recently for my aunt)*

I walked into Nate's house, more upset than when we had left. During the funeral, I remembered one day when our parents had played with the both of us. It made me upset, but I had to tell Nate.

"Nate." I whispered, my voice cracking,

"What is it, Rose?" Nate asked.

"I remembered a day when mom and dad played a game with us. A long time ago. Why did they have to leave?" I cried out. "Especially since I forgot everything before the crash! They aren't here to help me remember everything!"

"Rose, calm down. You're going to make me cry." Nate sighed, hugging me. "I miss them, too, you know. But I made a promise right before they died. And that was to take good care of you. So, can you handle living with me for a while?"

"Yeah." I managed to say. I was crying into Nate's stomach. He held me close as I cried, and even cried himself. "I just wish they were here."

"I wish a lot of things." Nate whispered. "I have to record a video letting my fans know why I haven't been updating."

"Ok." I muttered. He released me, and then walked upstairs.

I snuck after him.

"How's it going folks, my name is NateWantsToBattle, and this video is going to be a lot more serious than normal ones. If you haven't seen my posts on Twitter, then you need to know that my parents were in a serious car crash. They... didn't make it. And my sister, which is news to EVERYONE, lost her memory due to the crash. She remembers some things now, but she didn't when she first woke up. Other than her name, and the crash, that is."

"Nate, I actually remembered your face." I spoke up, walking into the recording room.  "That's about it, though."

"This is my sister. She's been struggling with some broken ribs and a broken arm. I'm just glad it wasn't worse than that. Anyway, we just went to our parent's funeral. Dookie was there, as was Shady and MatPat. But I won't be posting anything for a while, so please don't pester me." Nate sighed and shut off the camera. He then started crying once again.

I hugged him, and let him cry into my shoulder.

"Shh. We just have to live through this. I wanted to cry when I realized I couldn't remember anything." I whispered. Tears started to slip out of my eyes. "It'll just take time."

"I know." Nate muttered in between sobs. "But it hurts!"

At that moment, he got a skype call.

I picked up for him, since he was crying too much.

A man with black and red hair was on the other end.

"Hey Na- you're not Nate." he stated.

"No. Nate is crying his head off." I said quietly. "I would be, too, but life is cruel sometimes. Takes some people's lives, leaves others without memory."

"You're his sister, right?" the guy asked. I nodded.

"H- hey Mark." Nate said from behind me.

"I just called to say sorry for your loss, and that it gets better." the man replied. "Trust me. My dad dying hurt a lot, so I understand how you must feel, losing both of your parents because of a car crash, and your sister not remembering anything."

"I'm working on it." I whispered. Tears slid down my face as Nate sobbed harder. "Thanks for calling. I'm going to hang up now."

"Bye Nate. Bye Rose." Mark smiled sadly, and I hit the red button. I then hugged Nate again, and we spent the rest of the day either crying or making horrible jokes in an attempt to cheer up.
