Chapter Two
Barging through the door I got looks of worry and confusion, I began to grab what things I could which caused the others to get the message.
"PACK YOUR THINGS AND QUICK BECAUSE WE ONLY HAVE A FEW MINUTES BEFORE THE LAW GET HERE!" I shouted above the sound of gunfire, the few who remained in the house when we had left for the ferry quickly began to load the wagons. We only had three wagons which meant we didn't have all the time to pack everything, Abigail grabbed Jack and rushed onto one of them when Davey collapsed with a bullet to the gut. I grabbed his lard ass and threw him onto the back of a wagon as quickly as possible, hopping onto the wagon I grabbed the reigns when I noticed Jenny missing. Her gurgled screams made me flinch but I had to save the others, it didn't take long for the boys to catch up and take action. With everyone on the wagons I flicked the reigns and urged the horses forwards with much needed speed, I had no clue where Dutch was taking us but I knew it would be at least better than here.

The sun had long set and dark clouds had rolled in as we headed up the mountains, snow had begun to fall heavily hindering our speed. Dutch had sent Arthur and Micah up ahead on horseback to try and find shelter, I shivered as my thick winter coat failed to protect me from the freezing snow. My grip on the reigns had long since consisted of frozen fingers, the faint outline of the wagon ahead always kept me going. I noticed a faint light coming from Dutch's wagon which told me at least one of the boys was back, knowing them it was Arthur as Micah liked to "explore". After a few more minutes of travelling we arrived at an abandoned mining town, jumping off the wagon I grabbed a box from the back and hauled it into one of the buildings. I rushed back out as Dutch began his speech as I hurried to get supplies in before they got ruined by the snow, heaving a cough I shook it off as the final supplies were placed inside and the horses taken to shelter. With little energy remaining I sat down on a chair as a coughing fit overcame me, Dutch walked in with concern across his face and I gave him a smile before heaving another cough.
"Are you alright Grace?" He soothed as he walked over patting my back, I chuckled and nodded.
"Yeah, this cold weather isn't any good for us Dutch, the sooner we leave the better," I rasped before heaving another cough, Dutch gave a sigh and pulled me into a surprising hug. With little thought I embraced his warm figure as we sat there in silence as our body heat kept each other warm, I shuddered as we pulled apart as the door slammed open from the wind to reveal Micah. I stood up shivering as I left the cabin, I never liked being around Micah from the looks he gave me. Dutch knew my reasons for leaving after Micah almost got me killed twice before, with a sigh I headed into the main cabin where the rest of the girls were huddled around a nice warm fire. Heaving out a cough I sat down beside them, I didn't need to be told that Davey was dead since I had noticed his limp corpse on a nearby bed.
"You alright Grace?" Came the soft whisper of Tilly, I nodded as I tried to hold in a cough.
"Yeah I'm fine," I coughed out as I rubbed my hands together, a few of the girls gave me worried looks but I shook them off. Abigail was worried but not so much for us but more so for John, with a sigh I stood up as Dutch entered with Arthur and Micah by his side. I instantly knew exactly who they wanted as I walked towards them, Micah gave me his usual smirk which caused me to shudder.
"Micah found a lovely little house up the way, we need your good eyesight to help us figure out what we are dealing with," Dutch explained as we headed for the horses, out of the gang I proved to be the best sharpshooter which usually meant I was taken on many robberies and used as the lookout scout for emergencies. Mounting up onto my coal black stallion I pulled my hat over my eyes so I wouldn't be blinded by snow, as much as I hated snow I liked how well it hid our tracks. I completely zoned out of the conversation between Dutch, Arthur and Micah since they never really spoke of nothin interesting, hearing my name I drifted back to the conversation.
"Grace I want you to head up the hill a little ways to get a good vantage point, you boys follow me," Dutch called over the snow, I nodded and turned my horse towards a small ledge on the side of the mountain we were on. Tethering Quicksilver to a nearby tree I got into position with my sniper rifle and looked through the scope to see what was going on, sniping in such harsh weather was risky but in my case a breeze. Fixing my scope and making sure everything was ready I pressed my eye against the freezing metal to see what was going on with the boys, Dutch was standing at the door talking when I noticed Micah and Arthur getting their guns ready. I pressed my finger against the trigger lightly awaiting my chance to shoot, the moment gunfire sounded I let off a round hitting one of the guys straight through the side of his skull. I pulled the hinge back as I loaded another bullet but froze when I felt a soft pressure press against the back of my head, I chuckled softly knowing exactly who would be able to sneak up on me while the others were distracted.
"Hello Colm," I chuckled as I stood up dropping my gun making me curse mentally, I turned to face the ageing man who had a smirk across his face. This was sure to get interesting once Dutch found me missing, my only problem was the fact that the one who now had me hostage was the one man that had a lustful desire ever since I watched Dutch kill his brother.
