It was a hot day in pop village, close to the lagoon the trolls were getting ready for their annual splash n' splish day, the name was not so great but it worked so who cares right? Branch, who was sitting on a towel so his butt wouldn't be sore from the burning hot sand, was waiting for his girlfriend. However he had been waiting for over 15 minutes and he started to get a little frustrated.

"Where is she?" Branch thought.

He started to get worried as time passed and was looking around for any sign of where she could be. All he could see were trolls playing in the lagoon having fun, no sign of the legendary party planner. He then saw his second oldest brother, his giant purple hair looking like waves in the distance. Spruce was holding a notebook as he walked through the party but wasn't that supposed to be Poppy's job? So he went up to see what was happening.

"Spruce? What are you doing here?" Branch asked.

"Oh hey Branch! I was just helping around here, Poppy asked me to help out with the planning today" Spruce replied.

"What?! Where is she?" Branch got even more worried.

"She's just in her pod right now, she told me she wasn't feeling well or something?" Spruce explained.

He instantly panicked and rushed quickly to his girlfriend's pod.

Spruce watched him flee the party and blinked before going back to what he was doing.

In less than two minutes Branch burst through the door in a panic, trying to catch his breath.

"Poppy?! Are you here?! Where are you?!" Branch called out.

He didn't see her in the living room so he made his way to her bedroom and he saw his girlfriend laying down in bed.

"Poppy! I'm here! Are you ok?! Do we need to go to the hospital?!" Branch gently pushed her hair behind her ear.

She heard her boyfriend's voice and opened her eyes.

"Hm? Oh hey Branchifer, are you ok?" Poppy asked.

"Why are you asking me?! Oh no the confusion is setting in! We need to get you to the hospital!" He scooped her up.

As he lifted her from the bed, the sudden movement put pressure on her lower belly, she held onto it wincing in pain.

"Branch put me back down!" She exclaimed.

Branch immediately put her back down gently onto the bed, worried that he hurt her.

"What's wrong?" He asked, looking stressed out.

"I'm not sick Branch, I'm ok" she tried to calmly explain.

"Then why did you wince in pain like that?" He grabbed her hand, still concerned.

Poppy sighed, she felt a little embarrassed, she didn't think she would have this conversation with him one day but it seemed he had no idea on what was happening so she decided to tell him.

"I'm on my period Branch" She looked away.

"Period? Like the end?" He panicked.

"No don't worry, I'm just bleeding" Poppy accidently chose the wrong words.

"YOU'RE BLEEDING?!!!!!!!!!" Branch yelled, horrified.

"Only every month, it's not that bad" She squeezed his hand gently.

"EVERY MONTH?!!!!!!!!" He felt like he was about to pass out.

"No no no! Branch! Look at me ok?" She grabbed his face, patting his cheeks.

Branch looked at her and saw how relaxed she looked that seemed to  calm him down a little so he could listen properly.

"This is normal, every female troll gets this, has nobody told you before about it? Just don't worry, I'm completely safe" Poppy reassured him.

It was true that nobody had explained what a "period" was to him before but he would make sure to get the information he needed to guarantee her safety.

"I'll be right back, don't move ok?" He quickly left the pod.

"But I'm hungry..." Poppy said but she noticed he was already gone.

She pouted as she felt the mood swings kicking in.

"Best boyfriend ever, of course he leaves when I need him the most" Poppy layed back down.

Meanwhile Branch gathered all his brothers together, thinking they might be able to help with his girlfriend's problem. They were older so they would probably know more than he did right?

"Poppy has what?! What do you mean she's bleeding?!" Clay was shocked by the news.

"I'm not sure, she didn't seem like she was bleeding" He thought about Poppy laying in her bed.

"So who's gonna tell him?" John Dory was trying to hold back a chuckle.

"Tell me what?" Branch was confused.

"It's not important for now, we can explain it to you later, all you need to know right now is that she needs you" Floyd explained.

"But what am I supposed to do?" Branch asked.

"You know, hugs and kisses, heat pads for the cramps, it's not too complicated" Floyd shrugged.

"Says the one who's gay" Clay teased.

"Also she'll need a ton of these" John Dory gave him a giant bag of pads.

"What are those?" Branch asked innocently.

"They're pads! For her panties so the blood doesn't bleed through them" John Dory said casually.

"Wait what?" Branch then realized where the blood was coming from.

"WHAT THE F-"

Floyd quickly covered his younger brothers mouth before he could curse.

"Ok ok just calm down! You're ok don't worry, the main thing she needs right now is her boyfriend to get her through the week".

"A week?!" Suddenly Clay felt dizzy as he fainted.

"Ok one soldier down" John Dory moved Clay into a better position.

Branch was trying to process all of this new information that he received, it was a lot to think about and it worried him that maybe he wouldn't be able to take care of her.

"Just be yourself and do your best to take care of her, she'll feel much better by you just being by her side" Floyd reassured.

"Maybe you can find a book about it at the library" John Dory suggested.

"I guess I could try to look for one" Branch concluded as he made his way to the library putting the bag of pads in his hair.

Poppy was still laying on her bed just feeling miserable as the cramps kept her from moving, she was wondering when her boyfriend friend would return, that was if he would return, why wasn't he back yet? Did she accidentally scare him away and now he hates her? A million thoughts flooded her mind before she heard a knock at her door but she was in so much pain it was impossible to get up.

"Poppy? I'm back and this time I'm crazy prepared to handle the situation" Branch entered the room carrying all the pads, heat pads, painkillers and snacks, lots of snacks as well as her favorite trollberry banana smoothie.

He stopped when he heard the sound of sniffles and sobs, he grabbed the painkillers and immediately dropped everything else rushing to her side.

"Poppy? Are you ok? I have some painkillers for you to help with the pain" Branch dropped the pills on the ground by accident.

"I-I thought y-you left me b-b-because you h-h-hate me!" She sobbed.

"No no no shh don't cry, I could never hate you, I was just getting some supplies for you" Branch gestured to all the items on the ground.

"You got me all of this? For me?" Poppy sniffled.

"Yeah, I got everything you need from painkillers to snacks and pads, I even got your favorite smoothie" Branch gave her the smoothie.

Poppy started to cry again now holding her smoothie.

"Y-you're the b-best boyfriend e-ever!" Poppy cried.

Poppy attempted to hug her boyfriend before she was hit by a wave of pain again.

"Here take some painkillers, they'll help with the pain" Branch gave her the two pills, hoping they would help.

Poppy shoved the two pills in her mouth and swallowed them down with her smoothie.

"Is there anything else you need?" Branch gently asked.

"Well... Do you have your super ultra comfy pajamas?" She smirked.

"With the boxers?" Branch sighed.

"Yes" Poppy giggled.

A few minutes later Poppy was wearing Branch's super comfy pj's wearing her panties underneath the boxers since they were a little big and looked like shorts on her.

"Much better" She smiled putting her hands behind her head.

"You're lucky I love you" Branch sat next to her on the bed.

Poppy took his hand and placed it all of a sudden onto her lower belly, Branch started to blush as Poppy adjusted his hand on her skin.

"And this is way better than a heat pad" She layed her head on his shoulder and finally relaxed.

Branch's brain went into error mode for a moment before he started to smile, glad that he was able to provide comfort for Poppy.

Poppy yawned, starting to feel tired as she slowly fell asleep, Branch noticed and gently rested his head on her's and was also ready to fall asleep. Poppy turned slightly towards him, moving closer to snuggle but she accidentally kicked him right into his no-no square.

"DOH-" Branch quickly covered his mouth with his free hand.

Well at least now they were both in pain. :)
