"Lauren why did you tell him I didn't have a race tonight?"

She looked up from her conversation amusedly "I didn't do such a thing"

"Yes. Yes you did!" I groaned

She stood up and slowly walked towards me creepily. "I did it for a reason Megan" she spat my name

"Jealousy maybe? Just because I joined the team? Is that what all this is about?"

"Maybe. Maybe I did. It was the only activity I enjoyed. The only one where I wasn't judged" she stomped her foot in frustration

"Bullshit. You make yourself judged. You bring it on yourself! Perhaps if you acted a bit different then it wouldn't happen!" I looked at the time on my phone "Thanks a lot Lauren" and walked off

As I walked through the hallways I thought to myself. Was I too harsh on her. What if it is the only place where she isn't judged. Stop it Megan. She's just trying to make your life a living hell. She's trying to get you off the team. Stupid bitch.

"Name please"

"Megan Brooks"

"Take a seat" the teacher told me

I slumped down in my chair in the middle of the classroom and stared up at the clock ticking away on the wall. Ticking away the minutes that I should be getting prepared for my race. It starts in half an hour. I probably wouldn't make it if I left now.

Other classmates started to fill the room each looking as equally bored as I was. The teacher at the front had his scuffed up brown boots propped up against the desk while he read an old yellow paged book. A shrill alarm bell filled the air causing everyone to look around.

The teacher got up from his desk and eyed all of us. "Stay here" and walked out.

A few seconds later my twin brothers burst in, grabbing me under the arms and running out again.

"What the fuck guys" I said "Where are you taking me?"

"To your race" Luke replied.

I dropped down from their grasp. "Guys what's the point? I won't make it!"

"Well we'll try anyway" Jai grabbed my hand and we ran out of the school building

As we pulled up to the racing centre I jumped out the car while it was still moving and sprinted inside.

"Meg they're about to start!" Kayden told me

"I know! Lauren got me detention!" I punched in the code and skidded into the changing rooms. Slipping the suit on, I grabbed my helmet and jumped through the door to the rink.

"Thank god Meg you made it!" Jacob called from his kart

I clicked on my helmet and slid into my kart pulling up to the starting line. I may have accidentally or on purposely bumped into the back of Lauren's car causing her to swivel round in her seat and stare at me frowning.

"It's a good thing I made it isn't it Lauren?" I grinned "That would've been unlucky!"

The lights of the race counted down till they turned bright green and the squeals of tyres echoed throughout the room.

"Woo hoo! We won!" I yelled to no one in particular

"Whatever it's just a little race Megan" Lauren scoffed

"If its just a little race then why did you try and prevent me from coming?" I asked

She just rolled her eyes and walked off.

"What crawled up her ass?" Lou asked

"Satan's dick I'm guessing" I'm guessing I shrugged.

I walked back to the changing rooms and put all my stuff away before looking to go and find my brothers until I collided into someone.

"Ouch watch where your goin-Oh hey Ash!" I held my hand up to pull me up

"Hi Meg" he helped me up "Have you seen Kayden?" he adjusted his red bandana

"Erm no not today why?" I asked

"Well he said he was coming here" Ash looked like he was trying to intend something

"He does work here so..." I frowned

He grinned "You seriously don't understand do you?"

"Understand what?" What was this kid on?

"He shift isn't today" 

I stared blankly at him.

He groaned "He came to see you!"

"Wait what?"
