"For me?" I asked

"Yeah, I don't think I was meant to tell you that" Ashton said

"Hey Meg!" Kayden called walking over

I smiled "Hello Kayden"

He glanced at Ashton "..And Ashton?"

Ashton grinned back "And Ashton. Yay!"

"Why're you here?"

"Because you drove me here as I said I would help you to ask Meg if-"

"Shh!" Kayden shushed him

"Should I go?" Ashton asked

'That would be lovely Ash thank you" Kayden gave Ashton a stern glare before Ash walked away

"Anyway Kayden you wanted something?" I asked

"Oh yeah, by the way congratulations on winning your race!"

"Thanks" I smiled "Luckily my brothers dragged me out of detention. I think I'll get yelled at tomorrow"

"Yeah probably" he nodded but a shrill voice interrupted our conversation

"Kady-baby!"

"Lauren" Kayden turned around and said in a monotone

"Oh am I interrupting something?" she smirked

"No"

"Yeah"

We both said at the same time

I coughed before saying "I mean no"

"Great!" She giggled "It's not as though you actually wanted to talk to her was it?"

Kayden looked at me apologetically before answering "Er no! Of course not!" he laughed nervously and I felt my heart sink

"Well we'll be leaving then?" She dumped her bag in Kayden's hands and strutted off with Kayden trailing behind

"He needs to grow a pair"

"Jesus Ashton!" I jumped "Don't sneak up like that!"

"You didn't hear me? I got new shoes and they squeak loads" he looked down at his feet "Anyway as I was saying, 'Kady-baby' needs to grow a pair"

I shrugged "It's his choice"

"Seriously? His choice?" He stared at me

"What?"

"Kayden is being blackmailed. Nacho?" he asked

"Thanks" I took a few "How is he being blackmailed?" I questioned

"Well Kayden being the idiot he is, thought he could trust Lauren with his secret. He was wrong. Lauren threatened to tell the everyone at school if he didn't do what she wanted" he explained

I pondered for a moment "Why are you telling me this? You hardly know me"

Ashton scrunched his nose up in thought "To be honest? I'm Kayden best mate. Just looking out for him that's all" he looked down sheepishly

"Awh that's adorable" I pinched his cheeks "But what's Kayden gonna do?"

He cleared his throat "Well his plan is to find out a secret of hers and use it against her I think"

"To be honest I'd love to find out a secret about her" I smiled

"I think everyone would Meg" he looked down at his empty bowl "Want more nachos?"

I stared into the distance "Yeah" I nodded and followed him "Where do you even find these?"

"My secret place Megan" he smirked

The next morning I woke up sick. My nose was stuffed, my throat was hoarse and my head hurt.

"Mum" I wailed

"What?" she huffed trudging up the stairs

"Don't make me go" I whined

She walked over and felt my forehead "Fine you can stay home. Beau is at work all day and so am I. The twins are at school as usual" she informed me

"Okay" I mumbled into my pillow.

I must've fallen back asleep because the next time I checked the clock it was midday. I just lay there with my hand absentmindedly stroking Lala. Forcing myself to get up and shrugging on an old hoody, I trudged to the bathroom and to my horror I realised that my monthly gift had decided to pay a visit.

After sorting myself out, I slipped downstairs to see if there was anything to eat. I quickly covered my mouth with my hoodie sleeve when I a wheezing cough.

I found a small carton of soup at the back of the cupboard and put it in the microwave for two minutes.

I swung my feet below me as I sat on the kitchen counter and thought to myself.

If Kayden were to actually succeed in finding out a secret about Lauren, then wouldn't they be just stuck in a circle? If Kayden threatens to tell everyone about Lauren's then she will threaten to spill his beans and so on. And didn't Kayden have a girlfriend a few months ago? Jessica was it? Think so. But how, if Lauren was blackmailing against him.

My thoughts were interrupted as the microwave went off.

I carefully sat on the sofa as to not spill my food and turned the TV on. Not much was on except Maury which always amuses me.

"Of course he's the father!" I croaked to myself "It has to be somebody"

After a while Lala began to bark continuously which really hurt my head.

"Lala! Lala stop! Lala please!" I begged

"Hey bub" Beau walked in and the barking ceased

"Oh hello. Why're you home?" I asked

"Work let me off early. Why are you home" he flopped on the sofa next to me

"I'm sick" I snuggled in the cusion

"Boo you whore" he said which made me laugh

"Come cuddle me" he pouted. I smiled and lay down on his chest and soon fell asleep.
