ROBB
Robb was stunned as he sat there, gawking at the beautiful girl who stood in the doorway staring into his eyes. She had straight light brown hair that fell down to her midback, and her eyes were amber hued. He knew immediately that this was Valycia, due to the house Baratheon ring situated on her right ring finger. When Robb looked back up to her eyes, he grinned. He wasn't feeling quite so annoyed at the marriage anymore.
After a second, Robb stood and went to greet her at the door. As he made his way over he caught a glimpse of his father laughing loudly next to the King. Once he reached her, he smiled down to her.
"Lady Valycia," he bowed and she curtsied back. "It's nice to meet you." He smiled again as he took her arm and led her to her seat. After, he pulled it out and allowed her to sit, as he sat down next to her. Bran was eyeing him knowingly from across the table, and he shot him a playful glare.
"So, ah, Lord Robb." Robb turned his head to meet Valycia's eyes. "Does it ever stop snowing here?"
Robb laughed heartily at her comment. "You can just call me Robb." He grinned at her, "And no. It's always snowing, but the fire always stays stoked, so it'll never get too cold."
Valycia blushed and looked down at the table just as Arya flicked a piece of food at Sansa and Robb burst out laughing at the accuracy. His youngest sister was surely crazy. Sansa didn't seem as pleased. She stood up immediately with an infuriated look on her face. "Arya! You're such a little-" she cut herself off before she embarrassed herself and then stormed away from the table and out the door.
"Robb." He turned his head to the voice to see his mother gesturing to Arya, to which he stood and pulled her out of the room, sending Valycia a sympathetic look on the way out.
"Ugh, Robb. You know she deserved it." Arya complained as she shrugged off his hand.
"She may have deserved it, but your mischiefing has gotten me pulled away from my betrothed, and she is actually quite pretty." Robb groaned as they walked side by side to her bed chambers.
Arya chuckled at her eldest brother. "She's probably prissy, just like Sansa."
"Sansa isn't that bad." The two of them finally reached Arya's room and Robb sat down next to her on her bed. "And, since that whole Lannister-Baratheon lot are all insane, maybe she's different." He looked at Arya, and continued. "You shouldn't throw food, it isn't a proper lady thing to do." He grinned at her, patronizingly.
"I don't want to be a 'proper lady' I want to be strong." She complained to him with a frown.
"Proper ladies can be strong. Just look at mother, and Queen Cersei. She may be crazy but she's definitely strong." Arya jabbed him in the side as he stood up to leave.
"I don't want to be that kind of strong. I want to be strong like you and Jon." She fell back on her bed.
"I wish you could Arya, because you'd make one hell of a soldier with that fire in you." He smiled at her and started to close the door behind him. "Goodnight, Arya. You should apologize to Sansa tomorrow."
"Okay, Robb, goodnight." Arya was sighing as the door shut and he returned to the dining hall.
It was a lot quieter when he walked in, and he credited it to the absence of his father and the King. They must've called it a night. However, the rest of his family and the Baratheons remained. The queen was speaking to Sansa, and his fiancé was talking to Bran and Rickon with a smile lighting up her eyes.
Once he reached his seat again, their conversation paused. "Oh no, don't stop on my behalf." Robb took his seat and began listening as the resumed talking.
"So you found direwolf cubs in the forest and kept them as your pets? How is that in any way safe? What if they bite you." Valycia was talking to Bran with a glint of curiosity in her eyes.
"Summer would never hurt me. I trust him with my life." He replied, smiling at the thought of his pet wolf.
"I'd love to meet them one of these days, I'm sure they're an interesting sight to see." She grinned back at him and turned to smile at Robb beside her.
"If you want, we can go see Grey Wind right now?" Robb asked, arching his eyebrow challengingly.
"You think I won't?" Valycia scoffed. "Just because it's bitter cold outside, doesn't mean I can't survive."
Robb chuckled at her attitude. "Well, if you're done eating, we can go now."
"Thank the gods, this room is stuffy and I need to get away from these people I've been forced to live with since birth." Valycia groaned as they stood and began exiting out the door quickly.
"Are they really that bad?" Robb asked laughing as they walked through the snow. The moon was surprisingly full and bright tonight, not shrouded with clouds as usual, casting a light on the path ahead of the two.
"You think all the rumors about them being mad are false. Try living with them, it was not easy." Valycia let out a sigh and then shivered. "It is cold. How am I going to survive here?" Her question was rhetorical, but not to Robb.
"I'll keep you warm," his cheeky reply caught her off guard, but she collected herself almost instantly.
"Cocky, are we?" She raised her eyebrows at him as they reached the wolf shed. There were 6 stalls inside, but two were empty, as bran's direwolf was always with him, and Jon kept Ghost in his quarters.
"Right this way, Valycia." Robb opened the door and allowed her to step through in front of him before he hastily closed the door behind him. An oil lamp hung by the door and Robb lit it with little struggle. Inside the shed, it was warmer than outside. "This is my sister Sansa's wolf, Lady." He said as he gestured to the first stall, before moving on to the next. "And this is Grey Wind, my wolf."
Valycia stood next to Robb right outside Grey Wind's stall staring at the beautiful creature. He was enormous, much larger than a regular wolf, and he looked at Robb with adoration evident in his eyes. The direwolves had a connection with the people who raised them.
"He's breathtaking." She spoke with awe. "It's still hard for me to grasp, I apologize," her eyes were gleaming as she looked back up to Robb.
"Not many people understand, so it's quite alright." He grinned at Valycia. "It's getting awfully late, I'll walk you back to your bed chambers."
"Oh, I'd forgotten, thank you." Valycia too the arm Robb outstretched to her as he led her back outside, snuffing the lantern on the way. "And thank you for showing me Grey Wind, he's absolutely amazing." They were making their way across the icy snow covered floor to the stone building Valycia's room was in. Once they reached the door, Valycia opened it softly before turning around to look at her betrothed.
"Good night, Valycia." Robb smiled and waited for her to enter so he could leave. However, she did something he didn't expect, and kissed his cheek before walking through her door.
"Good night, Robb." She murmured as she closed the door between them. Robb lifted his hand to touch his cheek. Where she kissed him felt like it was bursting and on fire. He smiled to himself and walked back to his own quarters, but even as he laid in his bed staring at the wooden ceiling, his cheek never stopped flaming.
On the other side of the castle, Valycia was staring up at her ceiling as well, with her lips burning, a small smile on her face.
