Rosie POV

We sat and waited in the room where we were getting our tests done. There were two doors. One to Wesley the other to Four.

"Rose." Wesley said and shut the door behind me as I looked around the room frowning.

"Sit down." He said.

I did and he said "I'm going to put you under this serum and watch on this monitor as you handle your fears."

"Wait your watching?" I asked.

"Yeah how else are we supposed to assess you, is there a problem with that?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

As I opened my eyes I saw a huge cobra. It was coiling it's way towards and I ran getting stuck in the mud.

I fell into a lake and as I got out I was tied up in a burning house the windows closed. I was looking around and saw a shadowy figure of a woman.

I looked around helplessly and saw water, I managed to swing myself into it and found myself in a box and in front I saw my mum and dad and Kat and Four and Tris and Christina stood with Jeanine.

I knew Erudite my old faction were planning to get rid of Divergents. Caleb then pressed a button causing the box to start to move away out beyond the wall as I fell, I looked at my mum. I never saw her. I lost her when I was 4.

"This is a simulation." I said looking at the glass and I continued to fall for some reason the world became more solid.

I woke up breathing heavily and stumbled out of the chair and curling up into a ball leaning on the wall.

"Are you ok?"Wesley asked with a frown.

"Yes." I said as my breathing came back to normal "Perfectly, fine."

"How did you get put of the fall you seemed to stop in mid air?" He said.

"I don't know. All I knew was that I had to get out of there." I said.

"I get what you mean." He said "What time do you think you got?"

"5 days." I said exageratedly

"4 mins." He said.

"No way." I said.

"Yep." He said "Now I have to test the next person."

I walked out and then he called Kat.

Katrina POV

"Rina, you'll be fine." Wes said.

"Ok." I said he injected me and the first thing was when I saw Molly push Rosie over the chasm, I tried to get her but couldn't.

Then it changed, I was in a room and I was tied to chair with tests being run on me. As I squirmed around I saw Phil coming over and he had some electric probes. I noticed they were around most of my body and screamed.

My aunt was there next Martha she always criticised me and said how I should stay put in Abnegation, she had a menacing grin and then I realised.

I'm in Dauntless.

Why am I wearing Abnegation clothes?

Hallucinations.

Fears.

"You're not real." I whispered closing my eyes. I felt someone pull at my hair and screamed again

Suddenly, I was pulled out back into reality.

"Katrina it's okay go out of the back door you'll be okay go on." Wesley said.

I got out of the shaking.

As I ran back to dorm I bumped into Peter who looked grim. I hadn't talked to him since the pool party after I found out what he did to Edward.

Flashback

"Why the heck did you do that!" I exclaimed.

"Because I wasn't first, he didn't deserve it. He stole it from me." Peter said "Why do you care? Do you have a crush on him or something? Probably do because you're so pathetic."

"Screw you. You're such a MONSTER Peter!" I shouted and left.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"To explain myself." He said "Are you okay?"

"Yeah." I said getting up slowly. Then I ran over and hugged him for comfort and mumbled "I don't like seeing my friends die Peter. I don't like it."

"Hey kitten. It wasn't real okay, it wasn't real." He said comfortingly, cradling me in his arms "Come let's go over to the arcade."

"Sure." I said.

When we got there Peter said "I'm sorry I was such an idiot yesterday. It's just my dad told me that if I don't get first then I'll get in trouble and I was irrational and just, I couldn't stop myself. He also told me to stay away from you but I can't and I am sorry I insulted you yesterday I was just so mad at myself, my father my idiotic passive mother and my life. I hate myself so much and you're right I am a monster."

When he finished, he looked away. His dad made him feel so broken.

"Peter. Let me help you. Control yourself. The point is we need to make it into Dauntless not coming first." I said "Please."

He looked at me for a long moment and hugged me again tightly. So tightly I couldnt breathe.

"Thank you so much kitten." He mumbled.

"You're about to kill your kitten." I rasped.

"Oops sorry." Didn't realise you were so fragile he said playfully punching my arm after loosening the girl I mewled.

He chuckled. I glared at him

Next day

We had to go through the fear simulations again and I dreaded it Peter sat close to me and put a comforting arm around me "It'll be fine kitten." He whispered gently.

After Rosie's simulation.

Rosie POV

I came out shaking from that vivid sim. It was so real where I was abandoned.

"Hey it's okay, it's over now take a deep breaths, calm down, your heart rate has spiked way too quickly, I had to pull you out."

It's good he pulled me out because otherwise he would've thought I was Divergent from what I was about to do to escape.

I walked put and gave Kat a weak smile as she walked past me.

Later on.

Peter was being a bit of an idiot. NO he had gone back to original annoying, fullheaded Peter.

"How many times do we have to tell you we don't have a trick!" I snapped.

"OK fine. Keep it to yourself." He said.

Kat POV

"You okay Molly?" I asked she was shaking. Rocking back and forth with her arms around her knees "It wasn't real you know, it's not like it's going to happen and if it does you won't be alone."

"I-it was h-horrible." She choked "Peter pushed me into the chasm and then I was married to Drew and then it all changed and then I was being dragged to this cage full of rats to be shoved in."

"Oh Molly it wasn't real, come here you silly sausage." I said comfortingly putting an arm around her. I caught eyecontact with Peter and then felt Molly moved away looking enraged "You're only doing this to get Peter's attention. Piss off you unsimpathetic little attention seeking dog."

I rolled my eyes. Back to herself again. I went over to Peter and then he repeatedly questioned me about my secret and finally I broke and said "I have no secret Peter! Okay. Nothing. There's no trick I just have more control over my fears."

"If you say so kitten." He muttered and left.

I wish I could tell him. But I'm scared he'd leave me. I sighed at the dilemma at hand and collapsed onto my mattress. It's going to be over in a few days.
