　　Lenore Margaret Gilbert is an angel with broken wings.

　　Born into a long line of Gilberts, everyone knew that she was capable of great things, as it was in her blood. Lenore was not only a member of a Founding Family of Mystic Falls, but head cheerleader for the Timberwolves, and had won more art contests in the county than anyone else had in the years before. She exceeded expectations, and would have surely been selected as valedictorian and gotten a full ride to some fancy art school, had she not met Noah Young.

　　The Pastor's son made her feel things that she had never felt with anyone else before. She felt like she could be herself around him, that she didn't have to change who she was to make him happy. He said that she was his Angel, and that he would go to Hell and back for her if it came down to it. And it wasn't very long before Lenore gave into such temptation; clipping those pearly white wings she had been born with and following the boy she loved down a very dark path.

　　Lenore Gilbert had become addicted to the dark habits that quickly took over her life. Most of all, she became addicted to him. Noah Young was her every sin, and she was undoubtedly his, and nothing else mattered to them. Not church, football, or school. Not cheerleading, art, or becoming valedictorian. All that mattered was each other, and that led to terrible things.

　　One night, when she got home late, Lenore got into a fight with her parents. What Grayson and Miranda had hoped would be a calm and understanding discussion had turned into a full blown screaming match that woke up her younger siblings. They told Lenore that she couldn't see Noah anymore, that he was a bad influence on her, and that she was better off without him. But she loved Noah Young more than life itself, so when everyone had gone back to sleep that night, Lenore snuck out her window and never looked back.

　　By morning, Grayson and Miranda found the note she had left behind, and they wouldn't see their daughter for almost two years. Never knowing whether she was alive or dead had torn them apart, and it broke Elena and Jeremy's young hearts. The older sister they had always looked up to was gone, and nobody knew if Lenore Gilbert or Noah Young were ever coming back. And while the teenagers plummeted even further into the darkness together, their families were left to endure every stare and every whisper.

　　But then almost two years had come and gone, and they received a phone call.

　　Noah Young had died in a car accident, but Lenore Gilbert and the child that she was unexpectedly carrying had survived. After that night, Lenore vowed that she would never touch another pill or let alcohol drown her sorrows ever again. Instead, she went to a rehabilitation center and turned her life around for the sake of her unborn child. Lenore even moved in with her aunt Jenna and her cousin Brie until she could get back on her feet, eventually getting her own apartment after giving birth to a beautiful and healthy baby girl. 　　For a while, it seemed that life was only looking up for Lenore. She sought forgiveness from the people that she had wronged, found a stable job so that she could provide for her daughter, and never went back to her addictive habits. She was a better person now, and was almost certain that she could make things right for her family again.

　　But then almost three years had come and gone since her daughter was born, and she received a phone call.

　　Her parents, Grayson and Miranda Gilbert, had died in a car accident. They had driven off of Wickery Bridge and drowned, her younger sister Elena being the sole survivor of the wreck. Although she said that she would never go back to Mystic Falls, Lenore found herself in the place that she had once called home. They buried their parents, and after discovering that her aunt Jenna had been appointed the legal guardian of her younger siblings, Lenore decided to stay. She wasn't going to abandon Elena and Jeremy for a second time, so she gave up her apartment and moved back into her childhood home with her daughter.

　　But Lenore Gilbert wasn't the only one that had returned to Mystic Falls.

　　Stefan Salvatore hadn't been back to his hometown in decades. He tried to stay away so that he wouldn't draw any suspicion to his living family, only staying for a few weeks at the most so that he could ensure all was well before leaving town again to explore the world with his best friend. But the moment he laid eyes on Lenore Gilbert, he knew that he had to get to know her. And as it turns out, her wings were as broken as his. Maybe, just maybe, they could mend them together.

first off, some characters and their ages have been bumped up, including stefan bc the fact he is physically seventeen-years-old yet over a hundred-years-old has always given me the ick. along with that, we've changed A LOT of events starting in season three plus tons of canon family lore. i won't go into too much detail to avoid spoiling things for you all, but what i can tell you is forget everything you knew about tvdu in season three and onwards bc there are MASSIVE changes coming your way. that being said, PLEASE DO NOT STEAL any of the changes we have made to the tvdu, as we have put a lot of effort into the canon divergence events and the canon family lore and won't be tolerating any plagiarism here!
