To win the war, a demigod had to die. Annabeth was rested on the ground, with blood pouring from one of her wounds from Gaea. Everyone in the seven had to hold back a raging Percy. Percy was fighting to sacrifice himself instead. Suddenly, a black cut replaced Annabeth with Nico. Nico had sacrificed himself for Percy's happiness.

A masterpiece was woven by the Apollo cabin for Nico. Several campers compared it to Athena's cabin. After a week or so, people started to notice the absence of somebody who didn't die in the war. Percy and Annabe walked up to the Apollo cabin, and Kayla answered "Oh.. Hi guys." Percy understood her lack of emotion in her voice, she was tired. "Is.. Will okay?" Annabeth asked. Kayla almost broke down in tears "N-N-No.." Kayla moved out of the way and lead them to Will's bunk. What Annabeth and Percy saw was horrible. Will still had the war wounds unhealed, his typically happy eyes were almost.. Empty. And what confused Percy was Will's light grey hair. "When Apollo kids lose the will to live anything yellow disappears. Yellow to us means life." Kayla explained. "He.. He could of dyed his hair.." Percy tried. Kayla then pointed to the roof. "See that big sun with Will on It? At night it doesn't glow. The sun burnt out." Annabeth hugged Kayla "I'm so sorry." Kayla hugged back. Percy turned to Will and softly asked him "Why?" Will looked directly into Percy's eyes. "I loved him." Will looked like he would of cried, but he didnt have the energy to. Percy looked down, by keeping Annabeth alive, Will had lost a loved one. "I'm sorry, Will." Percy had a tear run down his face. Will just hid his face in his arms.

After Percy and Annabeth left, Kayla went to get fresh air. When she came back Kayla let out a broken scream. Will had an arrow in his heart with a note that read
"Cupid had shot me in the heart. I didnt know love would hurt so much it killed me."
