Losing Hope and Rising Insecurities
Hello everyone, how are you all? I know a lot has happened since my last update and it has been a very long wait... All I can say is I am extremely sorry for keeping you at cliffhanger for too long but honestly my personal life is a mess... So, it got difficult to come in the right frame of mind... Without any further delay let's dwell into this short part.
If you don't remember what had happened till now then take a quick recap of previous parts.
Not proofread, ignore errors please.
FLASHBACK STARTS
"MOM…” Haseena roared at the top of her voice from the center of the lounge. With blazing eyes she shouted again louder than the last time. All the house staff gathered there except her mother and Hassan Shah. "You can't ignore me anymore!!" She roared and started breaking all the things around her.
By the time her mother reached the lounge, it was truly reflecting irreparable and ruined ties of the mother-daughter duo. She had rotated her eyes around the broken glass pieces which can never be glued again and then looked at her daughter who was glaring her with fiery eyes as if she would be burn everything right then and there. Somewhere deep down her heart, she realized that they are on the point of no return but her ego didn't let her accept it.
"I am asking you one last time, what have you done to crescent?"
"Crescent?"
"That special person with whom I am unable to detach even after forgetting everything."
"Look..."
"Beware, Mrs. Malik it's your last chance. Tell me the truth and you will be able to see me otherwise I will never show my face to you after this."
This warning hit hard at her ego, "Karishma, Karishma, Karishma!! She had snatched my daughter from me..." Mrs. Malik thought and added, "You can do whatever you want to but I will never tell you about her. She is a threat to your health and well being."
"You think you can stop me!! You are highly mistaken Mrs. Malik," she added with a sarcastic chuckle. She moved closer to her mother and added in slow dangerous voice, "I am taking over the business and you are going to New York that too on no return ticket. And you know what the moment your flight will take off, I will go to Lukhnow. I am sure I can find my answers there."
"You want to take over, then do it, I don't mind but you can't go to Lukhnow you promised me." Mrs. Malik said desperately trying to stop her.
"Hahah!!! You really think I care about your promise," Haseena laughed loudly.
"Fine then, I never want to do it but I guess I had to.."
"What..." Seeing suspicion in Haseena's eyes, Mrs. Malik added, "if you stepped in Lukhnow, my men will shoot your crescent."
"Y...you can't do this.." a mere whisper came out of stunned Haseena.
"Oh my baby, I can... I am your mother. Before you will find out who she is, I will kill her," the confidence and insanity in her mother's eyes scared Haseena to the core.
"Why? Why you are doing this to me?" She asked helplessly with tears rolling down her eyes.
Mrs. Malik thought for a moment and then responded, "Because she is not good for you. She wanted to get your money and power. You have always been blinded by her love that you never listened to me. With great difficulty, I made you see her true face, you had even slapped her publicly and broke your friendship with her too. I was relieved that you got freed from that witch but this happened and you forgot everything." Haseena was too shocked at her words.
She looked straight in her eyes and then added, "you are lying, she is not what you said. She can't be behind money and power."
Mrs. Malik shrugged her shoulders and added, "you don't want to believe me then don't but the fact is that you yourself had insulted her publicly and threw her out of your life. She won't ever come in front of you."
"No, I will find her." Haseena shouted loudly in anger and desperation.
"Give it a try and I will kill her."
"No...." Her anger turned into helplessness and she agreed to her mother, "no...please, I won't go to Lukhnow."
"Now I don't trust your words. Hassan give me that bracelet." Mrs. Malik forwarded her hand to her manager who put one on her palm hesitantly.
"As you had said, I will move to New York but this bracelet will be around your wrist locked in place tracking your movement. If I located you anywhere near Lukhnow or this bracelet switching off, your dear crescent will be dead. And ya one more thing, don't you dare doge it because it's customized in a way that it will only work if bound on your wrist. I have my eyes on you," she tied the bracelet on her wrist.
Haseena once looked at her mother than the bracelet on her wrist, "Are you my real mother?"
She rolled her eyes and added, "you can think whatever you want to," moving past her she added excitedly, "Book my tickets to New York, my daughter wants me to rule American Market."
FLASHBACK ENDS
"She left India, and I was left behind with my deserted, broken, lonely and guilty self. Not just with that bracelet, she had her spies watching my every activity. I needed one solution for both the problems. So, I decided to join force. I thought in that way I can dodge her and find my crescent more easily. Two years later, she died in a road accident in New York," Haseena finished with silent tears streaming down her eyes and fidgeting fingers.
"You know Karishma, I... Didn' t love her infact I had always thought that I hate her but the moment I heard the news about her demise, I found out that I love her... even after all she had done to me somewhere a corner of my heart wanted that motherly love....but...neither I got Crescent nor her motherly warmth," Karishma could not hold herself more and hugged Haseena tightly, "I am sorry... I am sorry," she was crying with hiccups and clinging to her.
Karishma was crying in guilt of leaving her, for not being able to fight for her, for the torturous and lonely ten years her Haseena had to live without her. On the other hand, Haseena thought her tears to be of grief. She was rubbing her back and saying, "It's okay, I am fine... Please stop crying..."
After good half an hour, Karishma managed to control her nerves. She wiped her tears and tended to Haseena for she knew what's in her mind, "Haseena look at me!!" She held her both hands and said looking straight in her eyes, "Your crescent is not angry on you. She is not upset with you. Nor she is greedy for your money and power."
"How can you say this?" A cracking sound came out of her quivering lips.
"I am not saying this but your heart," she placed her hand on her heart and added, "if her love for you wasn't pure then how it can captivate you after this long distance and years of separation. And if her love is pure then she cannot be angry at you as your mother had told you."
"But.. then... Why she never tried to reach me?" another innocent question came out in shaky voice.
"May be, she was bound to do that, just like you were by your mother. May be she was mislead. May be she got weak without you," this time her own voice turned out shaky and hoarse clearly depicting the intensity of guilt and loneliness she is carrying.
Karishma's words had changed her expressions suddenly, from pain to shock, "what if my mother had said something to her just as she bounded me?" She left Karishma's hand and sat back dejectedly, "How much pain she must have borne because of my mother? Just...just because she... She was my best friend... If she can do this to her daughter then what had she done to her who was the biggest thorn of her way after my memory loss... Why I hadn't thought this way... My... My crescent... She...must be victimized by my mother just...just because of me...My crescent...I... Need to find her...I need to...crescent..." Before Karishma could say anything to her or handle her, she went out of control; with pale face, shivering hands, red eyes, tear strickened face, she was slapping herself and cursing herself repeatedly, "how can I forget her... I couldn't trace her even after ten long years.....I failed to protect her!!" Cascade of helpless tears streamed out of Karishma's eyes seeing her condition. "Haseena... Haseena please..." She tried to get her attention but couldn't. Moving ahead she engulfed her in a tight hug, restraining her to slap herself, and patted her head softly to calm her down.
It has been ten minutes since Haseena slept in Karishma's arms with her head on her chest. Endless tears were streaming from her eyes and she was feeling her brain almost numb; she was unable to find a way to end the pain both of her and her Haseena.
Placing her head on the pillow, she had tucked her under the duvet, kissed her forehead and left the room.
Moving out, she dialled her doctor's number, "Hi Doctor! this is Karishma Singh, Haseena Malik's friend. Actually, Haseena is too much worried about her past. Is it any possible safe way through which we can tell her about her past?"
"I can understand your pain Mrs. Singh but, I am sorry I can't help you. If she remembers on her own then fine however if we told her anything she doesn't remember, it can even prove fatal to her," Doctor's words tarnished the last ray of hope too.
"I don't know Haseena what should I do? Neither I can see you in pain nor I can tell you the truth. And the worst part is that for you crescent and I are two different persons... I know I should understand.... but the truth is that it had emerged a sense of insecurity in my heart, I am afraid that if you haven't gotten your memories then I will always be at a secondary position for you, I... I would never be able to get that same love and pampering from you, which only and only I got for sixteen years and for which I am yearning so terribly. I... too... Want to erase my pain but i can't do it with this version of yourself... Please come back Haseena for I don't have sufficient energy and willpower to lift the burden of both of us... You were right Haseena.... You were right... when you said that I won't be able to fight for both of us.... It's not a simple tennis match Haseena... It's not... It is going beyond my capacity... I am sorry...I am sorry for letting you down... But you have to come back to hold me, to protect me...please.." at the door of her room, staring at Haseena's sleeping figure, Karishma thought to herself and sat down on her knees helplessly.
--------------
When Haseena woke up the next morning, she didn't found Karishma near her but a letter,
"I need to go to home urgently, don't worry about me, follow your routine and don't forget to take medicines. See you at the station."
"You are always worried about me Karishma, but now anymore, I will take care of myself and you too and together we will find crescent. Nothing is impossible when Haseena and Karishma are together," she thought to herself with shinny eyes and a hopeful smile.
---
She entered the station only to find Santosh and Cheetah.
"Greetings madam sir!" They saluted her. She rotated her eyes all around the station, "Greetings, where is Karishma? Even Pushpa ji is missing."
"Madam sir, Karishma madam is not feeling well and her husband is also not in town so, Pushpa ji is with her to take care of her. I thought you must have known it as Karishma madam have been spending most of her time with you these days," Santosh notified however it turned out as a taunt.
Cheetah at once nudged her with his elbow to stop her but she had already triggered all the necessary questions in Haseena's mind.
"Take care of the station and call me in case of emergency," she almost ran to her car.
She had rang the bell twice but none is opening the door, it increased her tension to many folds. In an instant her mind had started make dozens of terrifying assumptions.
What had happened to Karishma?
How Haseena will revive Karishma's hopes and eliminate her insecurities without her memories?
Will she be able to do it?
I had wrote it in haste, I hope you will like it.
Eagerly waiting for your responses.
