Song: To Here Knows When-- My Bloody Valentine
Trent
He held out a white flower to her. She refused to take his peace offering. She looked a little sad as she laid on his bed, brown waves spread out across the white bedsheets. Maise looked excited to see her owner. The golden retriever hopped off the bed to greet Trent, who patted her on the head and walked past her.
Trent tossed "Loveless" onto the bedspread, and Juno was instantly interested in the vinyl as it smacked against the bedclothes. The girl daintily picked up the album, turning it over in her hands to get a full lover of the cover. Trent sat on the very edge of the bed and faced her.
"I saw it, and I thought you would like it," he said as he played with the zipper on his leather jacket. Juno nodded but did not say a word for a long time.
Trent exhaled and began to take off his jacket when he was finally thanked, her voice low and soft. Her eyes did not leave "Loveless".
"You're welcome," the man replied quietly. He watched as Juno suddenly rolled off of the bed and went over to the turntable that sat atop of the dresser. Sliding the plastic record out of its cover, the girl placed the vinyl on the platter, started the machine, and placed the needle in the grooves. With the rushing sound of static, the music began and the sound of a distorted guitar filled Trent's ears. It brought him back to his days in Cleveland, all those alcohol-fueled, crazy nights. Juno swayed slightly, leaning against the dresser.
Trent twiddled his thumbs as he waited for the right moment to say something. This awkward silence was a feeling he didn't wish to experience, especially not with Juno.
"I'm sorry," Juno whispered, barely audible. Trent, who was now twirling the white flower between his thumb and index finger, looked up to find a look of genuine embarrassment on the young woman's face. He bobbed his head.
"Tori's just a friend,"
"I know that," Juno sighed. "I just got..."
"Jealous?" Trent asked smugly. Juno's face was now beginning to resemble the color of My Bloody Valentine's album cover.
"Not jealous like that... It's just... When she was around, I felt like I was losing touch with you. It was like I was losing a good friend, and I wasn't able to do anything to stop it."
Trent beamed wryly at the small girl and got up from the bed. He stood in front of her, his chest inches away from her own. He liked watching hers rise and fall as she inhaled and exhaled. Usually, he would never get this close to a friend, but this was a completely different situation. It was like he was unable to control his actions, and his brain made him act in such a way that he was very unsure of the outcome.
Her eyes were wide, her hands gripping the dresser behind her. She seemed tense. Am I scaring her? he asked himself with much uncertainty. Trent felt himself lean in closer, reaching for a few strands of her wavy hair.
He held out the flower, stopping himself from doing something he'd regret. Juno plastered a soft smile on her lips and took the flower from his hands.

They had gotten through the record twice, this was now their third listen of the night. No skipping of tracks, just listening, soaking up the Shoegaze. There was something strange about that night. Juno never stopped staring at Trent and was at his side no matter what he did. It wasn't like her to be this way. When he got up to get something to drink, she'd have to follow. It was as if they were... married. The very thought made Trent sick.
Did she like him? Like that? Trent knew he was attracted to her; he knew he thought she was absolutely stunning. But what would things be like if she felt the same way?
"To Here Knows When" began to play, and Trent laid back on the bed while Juno sat with Maise in her lap. He stared at the ceiling with his hands behind his head, observing the cracks and crevices that made up the roof.
He felt Juno's hand brush his calf, and he shuddered. Contact with her made him create pictures in his head that he felt embarrassed having come up with them. He wasn't supposed to think about a friend that way. Juno had said it herself, they were friends.
Trent closed his eyes. It was nice to lay down and relax, not stress out like he usually did. He really needed a night like this. Having Juno around to spend it with him made it even more special.
"I'm sorry again, Trent," a sweet voice mumbled. Trent drew in a breath.
"Juno, it's fine. We're good."
"Can I make it up to you?"
Trent chuckled. "How on Earth are you going to do that? Buy me a pizza?"
"... No. Um, I was thinking like this..."
He felt her figure on top of him. Trent's eyes fluttered open to find Juno above him, eyes full of an emotion he could not read. Without thinking, he tucked a loose piece of her hair behind her ears, his index finger tracing her jaw.
Her mouth felt nice against his. Nothing was rushed. She was soft and warm. Her tongue barely slipped past his lips. His rough hands cupped her cheeks, and he thought his heart was about to explode.
She does like me.
Juno pulled her lips from his, dragging herself off of him. Her long hair was a mess, her lips were slightly swollen and pink. Trent leered a little at her appearance.
"I... am getting in the shower," Juno chortled, blushing uncontrollably. "I'll be back in a bit."
She grabbed some clothes and ran off to the bathroom. Trent leaned back against the pillows, incapable of wiping the grin off his face.
