Foxpaw POV

"Mousewhisper... Where did he come from?" Foxpaw asked as she lay in her own misery.

"Crowstar? Oh, he's one of my friends... Like Owletstar." Mousewhisper purred.

"But... But she was in the Place of no Stars." Foxpaw shook her head,"You... Y-you speak to-"

"Of course I do." Mousewhisper purred, sitting close by Foxpaw,"Would you like to hear a secret?"

Foxpaw remained quiet. She didn't want to know but assumed that Mousewhisper would tell her anyway.

Mousewhisper smirked and leaned in close,"She's back~"

Foxpaw froze... Owletstar was... Back? No! She didn't believe her! Foxpaw unsheathed her claws and slashed as Mousewhisper but missed and she just ended up in more pain as the thorns dugs into her skin.

"So angry today." Mousewhisper chuckled, sitting just out of reach,"Well, I'll keep you company. Don't worry."

Foxpaw let out a low growl but it was clear she wasn't scaring anybody... A whole moon, just here? No. She should be training and hunting and practising!

"Maybe... If you're good, Crowstar will let you go for a bit and we could do some training of our own." Mousewhisper flicked her tail,"Would you like that?"

Foxpaw looked up at her and nodded.

"Well, I'll see what I can do." Mousewhisper stretched.

Owlpaw POV

"Owlpaw!"

He shot up from where he was sat, only to be thrown to the side. He landed with a thud by one of the border rocks and looked up. Redchest.

"W-what did I do?" Owlpaw questioned, he was scared.

"Beepaw is missing, thanks to you!" Redchest hissed,"You just didn't like how she was better than you and your curse made her vanish!"

Owlpaw's eyes widened... Beepaw? No, no, he hadn't done anything! Beepaw hated him but he wouldn't make her disappear... He couldn't! Yeah... Because he wasn't cursed!

"Redchest, stop." Spidertail sighed as he padded over,"I know what Beepaw is like, I'm her mentor, and she's done something similar before."

"What? Run off?" Redchest scoffed.

"Yes, however she does if for attention. She'll be back." Spidertail yawned.

"Huh... If you say so-"

All three of them turned around to the sound of panicked screaming... Fire! The camp was on fire! No! No! This can't be happening!

"Everyone! Out!" Boulderstar ordered.

Cats were rushing to escape from the camp as flames licked the ground around them, trying to trap them inside.

In the chaos, Owlpaw had been left behind, coughing from the smoke... He was going to die. He was going to die alone.

"Owlpaw!"

Without warning, he was picked up by his scruff and thrown over the fire to outside the camp with everyone else...

"That was his last life, Owlpaw! How could you?" Honeyfur shouted at him.

After looking around, still trying to breath properly he realised what she meant... Boulderstar wasn't there, neither were Beetail, Stonewhisker, Robinspring or Hickorypelt.

Well, at least Lilypaw would be a Medicine Cat now. She just needed to get her name at the Moonstone! Despite the glares of others around him, he was very happy for Lilypaw.

But that's when it really set in for Owlpaw. His Leader had sacrificed his last life... To save Owlpaw? Maybe... Maybe he was cursed! He'd just killed his Leader!

He looked around and... Not even Pebblepaw seemed to look at him the same... Where were they going to stay? Surely they couldn't stay here.

"Everyone." Shadowflower spoke up,"As MountainClan's Deputy, I shall lead us to WaterfallClan. There, we should be safe, I promise you."

Owlpaw looked up at his mother's proud face... She'd always wanted this and now that she was probably going to be Leader... Well, he wouldn't admit it to her but he. Was. Scared...
