beomgyu. a quiet, reserved guy. he went to the same school as soobin, they became friends. they were close...they only had each other in this dark, cruel life. soobin was beomgyu's only truth in his world of lies.
everytime, soobin came into beomgyu's view, beomgyu's eyes would light up.

soobin would always cheer him up, especially when beomgyu was feeling sad or... empty. even though soobin meant so much to beomgyu, it didn't change the fact beomgyu just wanted to die.

die. die peacefully. nothing in his life had ever gone right. beomgyu always thought less of himself. he always looked on the negative side. his past taught him nothing good remained forever. his family were unsupportive, and toxic, and his friends had left him over the years. alone. all alone. he was harassed, bullied...

that's when he met soobin. choi soobin, the one who lit up his fading life and gave him a reason to smile everyday. soobin loved beomgyu dearly. he never wanted to lose him...

beomgyu hurt himself regularly. soobin came running upto beomgyu one day, tears streaming down his face as he stared beomgyu in the eye.
"you've been hurting yourself right? tell me the truth gyu. you haven't been responding to my calls or messages.."
beomgyu went silent, holding the knife tightly in his hands.
soobin looked beomgyu in the eye as he tilted his chin up gently, looking into beomgyu's deep brown eyes which reflected back nothing but sadness.

soobin knew about beomgyu's traumatic past. he knew everything... and he couldn't bear seeing beomgyu in pain. it hurt so much. each morning seeing beomgyu crying in their classroom... alone...

beomgyu stared back at soobin, as soobin held his hand out.
"gyu, i can't lose you. it would kill me too. please live. i know it hurts. everything hurts right? don't do it though. let's live to see another tomorrow, hm?"
beomgyu remained silent.
"gyu, i need you to promise me. you'll stay with me. promise me that you'll live. promise me."
beomgyu softly looked up, the dim lights illuminating his features.
"bin..."
soobin nodded slowly.
"i promise."

a promise. all it could take was just one action, or word to break it. simple as that...

beomgyu tried his hardest living. he tried his hardest looking at the positive, smiling everyday even when he didn't feel like it..

he tried. but he couldn't anymore. he couldn't take it anymore.

he ran out, as the clock striked three am. the flickering streetlights shone down on the lonely road, light rain falling down. no cars were in sight, apart from the occasional few. beomgyu breathed in deeply, his eyes trailing a car which was coming up near him.
beomgyu ran. onto the road. his light body crashed helplessly with the car. the blood spreading.

soobin rushed to the hospital, his eyes and nose a sunken red. he fell down on his knees at the hospital bed. no, no, beomgyu couldn't die now, soobin hadn't even told beomgyu that he loved him.. they had so much they wanted to do together, beomgyu even promised...

soobin's eyes had small hope. the heart rate monitor moved slightly, beomgyu breathing weakly before it stopped. it all stopped.

he left soobin.

a broken promise.
