Truthful

Name; (L/n) (Y/n)

Age; Sixteen

Personality; Still distant, still depressed, always hiding it. But not as stoic.

Status; ANBU

It has been a few months since they kissed on that mission, and although they talked more, Shisui and (Y/n) had yet to address the subject.

They were now both sixteen.

Shisui was beginning to worry about all of this business with his clan, and he knew he needed to talk to (Y/n), in case anything were to happen. To either of them, really, though he hated picturing her injured, or worse.

So that was what he was doing today. He needed to tell her how he felt and ask her how she feels, from there he can decide what to do.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

(Y/n) opened the door, finding a flustered Uchiha outside of it. "Shisui? Is something wrong?"

"Oh, no. I just- uh, we need to talk...can I come in? This may not be a short conversation..."

"Of course." She stepped aside, opening the door wider so Shisui could walk in.

"You...got a cat?" He asked, seeing the lazy creature sprawled out across the back of the couch.

"Oh, no. It's the lady next doors'. I'm keeping him here while she's in the hospital. She's an older lady, she has hip problems. Sorry, I know you're allergic."

"That's okay, he's a really beautiful cat." He smiled, sitting down on the armchair instead.

(Y/n) sat on the couch, facing Shisui, "So, what did we need to talk about?"

"Well...the...the kiss...on the mission...I want to know..."

"If there was a meaning behind it?"

"Yeah, that." He nodded.

"Was there meaning for you?"

"...Yes..."

She smiled, a blush dusting her cheeks, "There was for me too..." She stated meekly.

He grinned in return, the same pink tint on his cheeks. "I-I'm glad. I...I want to be..."

"More than friends?" She asked, finding his shy side cute. He wasn't normally like this.

"Yes..."

She stood up and sat down on the armrest of the chair he sat on, facing him, getting his attention. "Of course I want to be your girlfriend, dummy."

He blushed hard, but still pulled her down into his lap to hold her against him. "You're so cute, Hime, I could hold you here forever. I might not even miss anyone." He was grinning. He couldn't seem to break it as he placed his chin on her head, her cheek against his chest.

He decided it was probably still a little too soon to tell her what was going on with his clan, so he opted to wait. He didn't want to overwhelm her and scare her away. This was already a step up for them, he thought going into detail like that would be too much for one day.

*****

(Y/n) and Shisui had been together a few months now, and she was happy about that, but the nightmares hadn't stopped. She barely slept, and she hadn't told Shisui any of this.

She hid the scars on her wrist with long gloves that she found herself wearing constantly.

(Y/n) stood at her sink, washing her dishes, with the window in front of her open. She was thinking about everything that has happened over the last few months. Her and Shisui were together, her remaining teammate had left, saying he wanted to travel, leaving her here alone after the death of her other teammate at fourteen- two years ago.

She flinched, feeling arms wrap around her from behind. Her head turned to see Shisuis' onyx orbs staring back at her. "I knocked, and when you didn't answer, I got worried."

"Oh, uh, I was washing dishes, so I couldn't hear-" He grabbed her wrist, making her cut her sentence short.

"(Y/n)." He said sternly, moving her around to face him. "How long have you been doing this? Some of these scars are old, and some are new, so don't tell me that you stopped, or that you haven't been doing it for long."

She didn't answer, averting her gaze to, well, anything but him.

"Is this why you always wear those long gloves?" No response. "Fine. If that's how you want to play..." He took her other wrist, clasping them together as he shoved her against the counter.

"Ow! Shisui!" She felt something warm on her wrists and looked down to see that they were Chakra Chained. "Really!?"

"Really." He made the sign for Shadow Clone Jutsu, and the clone took off, running out of the door. Shisui was still firmly pressed against (Y/n), his hands moving to either side of her, resting on the countertop behind her, while her hands were balled into fists against his chest.

"Where's the Shadow Clone going?" She asked, her facial expression conveying that she was pretty clearly pissed.

"That's for me to know and you to find out. If you nicely answer all of my questions now, truthfully, I'll call him off."

"Fuck you." She muttered.

"I figured as much." Shisui shrugged, unfazed by the response. He lifted her over his shoulder, his hand on her ass as he carried her to the couch, to which she protested the entire way.

He laid her down on the couch, and she tried to get up, but he straddled her waist before she could, holding her wrists above her head, against the arm of the couch. "Get off, Shit-sui!"

He burst out into laughter, only serving to irk her more. "New nickname, huh? But you shouldn't push your luck, Hime."

"Oh? I'm curious about what you'll do. I don't think you have it in you to hurt me."

His expression was blank as he pondered that statement. "You're right. I can't hurt you, but I won't sit back and watch you hurt yourself either, so that's why that shadow clone left. I needed him to get something."

"And that would be?"

"Well, here he is now." He said just seconds before the clone walked through the door. When the clone got to Shisui, a hand was placed over her eyes, preventing her from seeing what they were doing.

"Let me go, Shit-suis!" She said, thrashing against him, but he held her cuffed wrists, and the clones' hand was still over her eyes as Shisui straddled her waist, his shins hooked over her legs, preventing escape.

She didn't stop thrashing when Shisuis lips were placed on hers, but she did when she gasped from the feeling of a hand squeezing her breast. Shisui had never touched her body in that sense, and it caught her off guard.

He slid his tongue into her mouth, but that wasn't the only thing. His mouth was off of hers and his hand slid down to cover her mouth in a split second.  "Swallow it." He said, his hard gaze unwavering. He also sounded pissed.

It was a pill, she could tell, but she didn't know what it was, and she did not want to swallow it. She closed her eyes tightly, trying to get away from him still.

"It's nothing that will hurt you. Just swallow it." His voice was softer, almost pleading, it seemed.

She still didn't want to give him the satisfaction of knowing he had won, but her mouth was watering, itching to swallow. She swallowed it, her glare not faltering for a minute.

"Good. Thank you." He said, removing his hand from her mouth.

"What was it, Shisui!?" She demanded.

"As I said, nothing that will hurt you."

"That didn't answer my question."

"Well, it shouldn't take long to kick in, so you'll see. Now, I'm gonna ask you some questions, and I expect the truth."

"No."

"Wasn't up for debate." He said, patting her cheek as he did.

"I hate you."

He shook his head. "On your birthday, your seventh birthday, did you miss me?"

She scoffed, "Should I have?"

"Ooh. Harsh. Okay, next one, do you see anyone other than me in a romantic sense?"

"I don't know if I see anyone in a romantic sense. How do you know you aren't just here to kill time?"

"Damn. I'm hurt. The third one," He leaned down next to her ear, his free hand beside her head as he did, "Did you like it when...I touched you?"

Her face went bright crimson. "Wh-What! No! Leave me alone, Shit-sui!"

"Alone is the last thing you need." He said, pulling his face back so he could stare down at her. "Do you want me to kiss you?"

"No."

He smirked. She must be pretty tough to have withstood the effects of that pill for fifteen minutes. "Okay, fine. I'll wait ten more minutes before I ask anything else." He said, crawling off of her, but as soon as she stood to run, he picked her up again. "You're not going anywhere until I get my answers. I wouldn't do this to you, but I know you won't give me anything for years if I don't, so you've left me no choice. I can't use the Sharingan on you, either, that doesn't feel right."

He sat her down against the wall. "And this does?"

"No. But this will likely cause less damage."

"Less damage to what? Us? You should know I'm pretty pissed right now, Shisui." He flinched at her tone.

"Be honest with me. Would you tell me what was going on if I didn't do this? Or would you just continue to cry alone, not letting anyone in?"

She averted her gaze, not responding.

"A life of hurt isn't fair. You have to talk to someone, and I know that you won't willingly talk to anyone else, either, and no one but me has the balls to force you. Well, I could get TIF, but I figured you would probably hate me more. That's what you said, right? That you hate me?"

"I don't hate you." Her eyes snapped open. She didn't mean to say that. Even if it was the truth. She wanted him to hurt right now, so what just happened?

"Hmmm. Do you love me?"

"Yes." Her eyes widened to the size of dinner plates, "What the fuck!?"

Shisui chuckled, "Before the real questions, there's one more thing I want to know, Hime..." He leaned close to her ear again, "Yes or no. Did you like it when I touched you?"

"Yes." Her face went red, the heat even spreading to her ears. Shisui found this as cute.

"It looks like it's working, Hime."

"Worki-?" She cut herself off when she realized what the pill was, "You gave me some kind of truth serum!" She blushed harder realizing he must've already known ahead of time what the answers to her questions were, and that was why he chose them, so he could detect when the pill had kicked in.

"I did. On to the real questions-"

"Asshole! You're completely unfazed by all of this! Heartless!"

He narrowed his eyes, "Unfazed? You think that I'm heartless? If I were, I would've ignored your cuts, and let you kill yourself off eventually. If I were heartless, I couldn't have fallen in love with you, because love requires a heart!" Both of their eyes widened at his last sentence. He sighed, "It's not like it was a secret. Besides, you told me the same thing...Don't seem so surprised. I've loved you since we were twelve, maybe younger." He said softly, brushing the hair out of her face.

He pulled her from the wall, and sat down on the couch, pulling her to straddle his lap. Her hands, still cuffed, laid against Shisuis' chest, and his hands rested on her hips. "Don't hate me, okay?" He whispered, pecking her lips. "I have a lot of questions, so this may take a while."

"Can we just not?" She asked, fighting back the tears that she knew were coming.

"Sorry, Hime. You have to remember that you can't rescue other people if you need rescuing."

"You sound like an old man."

He smiled, "Oh, quit stalling. When was the third time you almost died?"

Her eyes shot open. She had forgotten about that slip-up. "I was fourteen. I almost died on a mission." It wasn't a lie, per se, but it wasn't the truth, either.

"I want more details, (Y/n)."

'Damn him. It's like he can see right through me.' She frowned, "I tried to kill myself. Sensei found me, Akio healed me."

His gaze was stern, unfaltering as he took hold of her wrists, "When did you start cutting yourself?"

"Off and on since I was fourteen."

"Why did you do it?"

"After I watched Hiroki die, I got depressed. He was always so bright and happy, and he didn't deserve to die. He jumped in front of a blade that was meant for me..." She was in tears now, "It should've been me, Shisui. He had a family. He had a little sister, and his mom was pregnant. He didn't deserve-"

"He didn't deserve it, you're right. But you didn't either. You dying would've caused other people pain as well. You can't weigh the value of your own life against his. He's already gone. Let him go, and cherish his memory, and what he left you with. Your life."

Her tears didn't stop, but she couldn' help but say, "You really are such an old man at heart."

"Yeah, that's okay. Is there anything else you're hiding from me?"

"You smell good." She blushed at the smirk that covered his face. "I hate this truth serum."

"I love you." Her blush spread down her neck.

"I love you too," She smirked, "Shit-sui."

From there, their love would only grow, along with the lengths they went to keep each other safe.

If she was down, he'd cheer her up by talking to her or taking her out to get her away from herself and her toxic thoughts.
