The two managed to get out of the vault and now they were on top of a truck trying to get back to the hotel on time.

" Have you tried calling Ned?" Bella asked Peter.

He nodded. " He didn't answer. You think you can super speed us there?"

Bella glances at the road then back at Peter.  " I can try. Okay, grab onto me." she said and Peter looked over at her so fast he thought he might've snapped his neck.

Bella rolled her eyes. " We can go the fast way or you can run on the cars to get there."

Minutes later the two get to the hotel the group was staying at. Bella looks over at Peter seeing that he was still clinging onto her and even though she didn't want him to let go she knew they were on a time limit. " Peter. we stopped."

Peter quickly pulled his arms away and stepped back. " S-sorry. Okay, we gotta get over there before anything bad happens."

Bella nods. " I'll change into my clothes and head over to where they are. I'll make up some excuse as to why we weren't there. I'll cover for you."

He nods. " Okay, thank you."

Bella super speeds back to the hotel and making sure that no one saw her as she super speeds inside she super speeds up the stairs to her hotel room she shared with Michelle.

She didn't bother to change out of her suit, wanting to be prepared if she would need it and just takes her mask off, putting it in her pocket of her jacket that she would be wearing and puts clothes that would hide it over the suit. She then super speeds over to where she saw the team at who were walking over to the Washington Monument.

" Hey, guys! Wait, up!" she called out to them. She had stopped using her super speed once she was around a lot of people and she jogs over to the team who stopped and turned around to see her.

Ned smiles. " You made it!"

Flash narrows his eyes at her.
" Where have you been? You missed the whole thing! We won without your help by the way." he brags and crosses his arms over his chest with a smirk on his face.

Flash looks around her noticing that Peter was missing. " And where's Peter? Was he so embarrassed that he missed it that he couldn't even show show up here?"

Bella rolls her eyes. " No, that's not why he's not here."

She then sheepishly smiles at them.
" Look, I'm really, really, really, really, sorry about missing it. I got really sick all of a sudden this morning and I didn't wanna be having a coughing fit while we were up on stage."

She ran a hand through her blonde hair as she looked at each of them.

" Peter accidentally slept in this morning since he stayed up very late last night studying and he offered to stay back and take care of me since he didn't want me to be alone when I was sick." she lies and it seemed like the team bought the lie.

Mr. Harrington nods. " That's very kind of Peter to stay back and take care of you. I hope you're feeling better."

Bella smiles nervously. " Yeah, yeah. I'm feeling a lot better. Peter should be on his way sometime soon, he just got lost."

Flash scoffed and turned back towards the Washington Monument.
" Of course Parker got lost. Come on let's go to the Monument."

The group walks over to the Monument, forgetting that Bella and Peter missed it and Bella couldn't be more relieved about that. Bella and Ned walk besides each other a few ways from the group so the group wouldn't hear them talk about Spider-Man stuff.

Ned looks over at her with excitement. " So, tell me the real reason why you and Peter missed it and why Peter's late."

Bella sighs and glances around them making sure no one was listening in before she told him how they got locked in a vault that was very hard to get out of and Ned eyes widened.
" Wow. Well, at least you're here now. Where's Peter? Did you leave him somewhere to die?"

Bella shakes her head. " No, I would never do that. He's on his way here. And when we were in the vault, Peter was going to tell me something...but he didn't. It seemed to be really important. Do you know what he was going to tell me?" she asks him and Ned suddenly became nervous.

" W-why would I know what he was going to tell you?" Ned asked while rubbing the back of his nexk nervously.

Bella shrugs her shoulders. " Because you're Peter's best frirend and best friends tell each other everything."

Ned shakes his head. " N-nope. No, I
..I don't have a clue." Bella didn't believe him one bit but decided not to pressure him into telling her.

" Oh and also, the glowy thing. Do you still have it?" Bella asks.

Ned nods and looks at her weirdly. 
" Yeah, why?"

Bella bites her lower lip nervously.
" Well, Ned, the glowy thing is dangerous-"

" All right everybody, it's time to go inside." Mr. Harrington spoke up, interrupting her from telling Ned and she frowned. Now she won't be able to tell Ned that the glowy thing is a bomb.

Bella looks over noticing Michelle was reading a book and she looks back at the team that was starting to walk inside.

Mr. Harrington looks at her. " Are you joining us inside, Bella?"

Bella shakes her head. " I think I'm gonna stay out here with Michelle."

Mr. Harringtin nods. " Okay, then. We will be back out soon." he says and follows everyone inside. Bella walks over to where Michelle was sitting.

" Hey, Michelle." Bella greets.

Michelle doesn't even glance up from her book as she says, " Hey."

Bella sighs and sits down on the bench that was nearby them. She hoped that Peter was okay wherever he was. And she hoped that the bomb didn't go off.

Bella looks up at the top of the Washington Monument seeing some concrete falling off and her eyes widened.

" Please don't blow up, please don't blow up." she mumbled to herself. She looked over to her right seeing Peter in his Spider-Man suit looking up at the Monument as he asks Karen what was happening.

Bella looks over at Michelle. " Did you see that or am I going crazy?"

" If you're going crazy then I am to because I saw the same thing you did." Michelle said as she stood up, moving her arm in front of her eyes to block the sun as she looked up at the top of the Monument and Bella stands up as well. 

" Our friends are up there!" Michelle says to Spider-Man who looks over at her.

" What?!" Peter asks worriedly and he looks over at Bella before starting to run backwards to the Monument.  He speaks in a lower voice this time to so that his voice would be disguised.

" Uh, don't worry ma'am. Everything's going to be okay." he told her before running off to the Monument.

" Mr. Harrington did not prepare us for this happening. " Michelle said and Bella nodded in agreement. " I totally agree with you." they watch as Peter jumps onto the Monument and starts climbing to the top.

" I'm gonna be right back." Bella tells Michelle and before Michelle could say anything she started jogging over to somewhere there wasn't anyone.

She managed to gets out of her clothes, putting them in her bag she had with her and gets her mask out of the pocket of her jacket. She puts her mask on as she puts her jacket back in her bag. Throwing her backpack over her shoulders, she super speeds to the Monument.

" Hey, Peter! Need any help?" Bella asks as she stands besides Peter since she could stick to walls as well.

" Yeah, help would be nice! 10 minutes before catastrophic failure! That's not good!" Peter yells as he jumps upward, hoping that he would get him to the top quicker and sticks to the wall again as he continues to climb.

" Okay! I'm on it!" Bella says and super speeds up to the top way before Peter gets there. She notices a window at the top and she opens it as carefully as she could and climbs inside.

Meanwhile Peter climbs over to the window that Bella just climbed in.

" Now I wished I had super speed." he said, out of breath as he carefully turns around to where he was leaning against the Monument. 

" What's wrong? You have reached the Southwest Window. Why are you hesitating?" Karen asked.

Peter lets out a shaky breath. " I just, never been this high before."

" You have also not reinstalled your parachute so if you fall from this height will mostly be lethal." Karen tells him and Peter nods and moves to stand on top of the window.

" Yeah, right. Okay." he looks down at the window seeing that it was closed.

He sighed on frusturation. " I thought this was how Bella went in."

" Bella went in the other window to your right." Karen told him and he looked over to the window seeing it was broken. " Would you like to go in that one instead of this one?"

Peter sighed. " No, I'll just go with this one since I'm here already."

Inside of the Monument Bella was helping the others get out. It was harder than she thought because any kind of movement that was made would make the elevator fall. Just because she was fast didn't mean she didn't make a movement. 

She noticed as she looked out the window there was a helicopter with armed forces, probably there since they didn't know who Peter was and what he was doing. Peter climbs to the very top of the Monument and the helicopter follows.

" Take my trophy!" Flash yells at the Police Officer and Bella scoffs.

" Guys, you gotta stop moving okay? And stop worrying about the trophy when you should worry about yourself and everyone else in this situation!" Bella tells them as Flash moves to hands the trophy to the Police Officer and the elevator shakes.

Outside Peter holds on to the top of the Monument after glancing down below him and sighs. " I'm gonna die."

He then jumps, activating his web like wings and flies over the helicopter. He shoots two webs at the bottom of the helicopter as he flies below them and towards the Monument. 

Bella quickly super speeds Flash out of the elevator as the elevator moves again and it looked like it was gonna fall any minute.

" Please don't fall, please don't fall." she mumbles to herself.

Peter flying into the window with his feet first, breaking the window.

But that movement he made, made the elevator drop some more.

Bella super speeds down the wall so she can try to catch the cable before it was too late, but then a web attached to the top of it and she looked up to see Peter holding onto the web. Her eyes widened as he suddenly falls, the glass around him breaking and as she looks back at the elevator it falls as well.

The elevator seemed to stop and she lets out a breath of relief but she noticed that Peter fell inside of the broken elevator making it fall again. She groans and super speeds towards it.

Peter quickly shoots a web upwards and it hits the ceiling, stopping the elevator from falling but now Peter was on the roof of the elevator upside down as his classmates and Mr. Harrington look at him with shock.

" Hey, how you doing? Don't worry, I got you." he says in a low voice to keep his voice in disguised.

" Yes! Yes!" Ned cheers as he jumps up and down.

" Hey, hey, hey. Big guy, stop moving around!" Peter yells and Ned immediately stops. " Sorry, sorry."

Bella super speeds back to the opening as Peter starts pulling on the web, pulling the elevator closer to the door at the top but Bella noticed the web that connected to the ceiling was starting to break.

" Alright, everybody out. Move it people." Peter says as the two Police Officers open the door.

" Okay, come on. Let's go." Bella says as she super speeds them out of the elevator. As she looks back at the elevator she notices that Liz was the only one left.

Bella goes to super speed to get Liz, but just as she got to the door of the roof almost falling out if Ned didn't have grab onto her arm to pull her back.

She sent him a thankful smile and he smiled back, letting go of her arm as she looks to where Peter was hanging from a web in the elevator, her eyes widen a the elevator broke and fell. Liz would've fallen too but Peter was quick to shoot a web at her hand just in time.

" You're okay. You're okay." Peter said as he pulled on the web, pulling the frighten Liz closer to him.

Liz grabs onto Peter's hand tightly and Bella hates that she was feeling jealous at this moment but she just couldn't help herself. Peter pulls Liz up to where Bella and the others were anxiously waiting. Bella grabs ahold of Liz's hand once she was close enough, pulling her over onto the floor.

She forced a smile as Liz hugged her arm saying thank you a million times. " Hey, no problem. Just glad that all of you are safe. It's our job." Bella tells her, referring to her and Peter and Liz smiled at her.

" So, uh, is everyone okay?" Peter asked in a lower voice. Bella had to cover her mouth with her blue color gloved hand to stop herself from laughing at the voice.

Bella's eyes widened as the web Peter was hanging from suddenly broke and he fell.

" Spidey!" Bella yelled and without another thought she super speeds past everyone and down the wall of the elevator to Peter, rolling her eyes as she heard Flash yell, " Are you really friends with Peter Parker?"
