5 Years

5 years later.

It was a cold dreary October Day when the cheerful cries of the villagers echoed amongst the rain filled village. Through the streets ran a thirteen year old blonde boy, his eyes wide in fright as he tried to make his way to his friend's apartment. Sakura was now living alone, now that she took up the role of the weakest in the class she had moved away from Sasuke.

She waited by her door as she watched for any flash of golden blonde hair. When she finally spotted the bright flash of gold being chased by mobs of villagers she readied her hand signs and chanted her jutsu.

"Kaze no kaze no kaze no shōheki!" She muttered forcing chakra to push the elements of the wind to make a wall around her home just as Naruto ran into her foyer.

She smiled as long pink hair fluttered, turning around and locking the door she shut the blinds, all around her was clean walls and floors, the kitchen was making a small hissing sound as the pot bubbled filling the air with the aroma of ramen.

"S-sorry Sakura-chan! It's that.... day again..." Naruto panted slightly as he leaned on her wall, his hand on his dirty jacket.
She raised a perfect eyebrow before she waltzed to the kitchen, even if the act of a horrible fangirl was her mask, she couldn't push out her best friend.

"Well Naru the Ramen is ready if you want your usual 15 bowls?" She smiled sweetly as she stirred the brothy soup.

"H-Hai!" Naruto smiled happily as drool slightly dripped down his mouth, making Sakura slightly grimace as a drop tainted her clean floor.

"Naruto.... please refrain from drooling on my floor.." Sakura stated emotionlessly as she tilted her head to look at a photo.
'Oh right.... it's been.... nine years... hasn't it? Okaa-San? Ojisan?' She sighed as she poured herself a bowl and Naruto a bowl.

"That's right Sakura! Graduation is tomorrow!! Do you think I'll pass Dattebayo?" Naruto gave her a foxy grin making her nod.

"Of course you will pass! Remember that I am the one who helped train you!" She poked her chopsticks near his cheek making him chuckle. He nodded slowly as he slurped up his noodles.

Sakura stayed near the edge of the room until she silently walked to the the roof, wrapping a soft blanket around her, she could see Sasuke's Apartment in the distance. It seemed to have only shined brighter as the sun set, casting a lovely orange hue mixed with pink over the building, illuminating her pale face for a moment.

She sighed as she closed her eyes relishing the warm rays in her face before she felt it vanish in an instance, opening her eyes she could see the sea of sparkling mercury stars, each glimmering brightly.
Except one.
One lonely star to the west was dull with a faint gleam, no other stars seemed to surround it and she felt herself pulled towards it, reaching out her hands she felt she could truly touch it.

Sasuke sat on the roof of his apartment that he stayed in, as he watched the stars, each reflecting off his onyx eyes. Looking around he saw a small figure on a different roof, he tilted his head. But dismissed it, for it wasn't his problem, he was more anxious for the graduation test.

He sighed as he opened his palm to reveal a small amulet made of wood. He clutched it to his heart and lowered his head.
"She changed so much I can't recognize her anymore." Sasuke bared his teeth as he buried his face in his hands.
"But Why? Why would she change so much?" He was frustrated as he stood up and went back into his room.

It had only been 5 years since Sakura had stepped in his apartment, the room was slightly clean as clothes littered the floor, the dishes were disorganized and he ignored it pulling off his training shirt and placing a plain black shirt on as he went into his bed.

Closing his eyes he dream't of a world where his family was happy, alive and dare he say, a pale girl with bright emerald eyes and pink fluttering locks.

Naruto knew that Sakura suffers and yet he never asked what happened, respecting her too much to pry into her life. He also noticed how she was at the academy and the side of her which nobody else had seen, but she allowed him. Him the monster of the village to see her true side. He was extremely grateful, happy, and nonetheless calm. Picking up his empty dish he quickly washed his dishes, her sink was sparkling clean, no clothing on the floor, the walls seemed so dull. The room itself was a modern Grey and black making Sakura's hair the most colourful thing in the whole house.

Sakura yawned slightly as she came down from the roof at 12:00pm only to notice that her best friend was asleep, his head buried in his arms, smiling slightly she carried him all the way to her guest room, tucking him in and laying a large fluffy blanket over him.

"Sweet dreams Naru-kun..I hope you have a peaceful sleep." Sakura smiled as she ruffled his hair. Standing up she quietly exited the room to grab herself a cup of hot oolong tea with a side pinch of sugar. As she waited for the tea to warm up she looked outside her window where beautiful roses crawled up and around the glass separating her and the pure life that lay await outside.

Pushing herself off the wall she reached over to the window and rested her hand on it, watching as the wildlife seemed to sparkle brightly under the full moon, making everything illuminated in the azure blue. Turning around she quickly poured herself tea and sat at the table by herself, letting the cold wash of the moon linger on her body.

"If only I could reach you again, over and over I will regret That I lost you, till the day I close my eyes eternally." she sighed as she felt great comfort in drinking her tea. Lazily watching the moon in the sky she counted the time as it slowly ticked away.

from 12:00am to 3:00am

Time slowly wasting away, her head on the table, hair sprawled out as she watched the clock. her head fuzzy, eyes drooping.

From 4:00am to 7:00am

as her eyes were fixated on the clock she slowly closed her eyes imagining the life of a innocent youth, one that she had given up on ever accepting. Standing up and opening her viridian eyes she went up to her room to change, long swept back pink hair that reached her hips swayed, gathering up her hair and pulling it into a tight bun she casually covered her ninja clothing with her regular dark coloured sweater. Adjusting her tight's she put on her weapon holster and quickly went to Naruto's room.

"Ah Naru..Wake up it's graduation day!" Sakura plastered a fake smile on her face as she watched him bounce up and rush to the door, shouting out a thank you and a good day, he rushed out the door most likely to his own house. Lowering her smile she picked her bag up and covered her head under her hood sending out a clone to Yamanaka-san to participate in their daily, "Fangirl" race to school.

Watching her clone she kept the the shadows, walking to the school quietly, humming herself a small tune

"This is how a legend is born

its nothing more than a bouquet of lies, ink burning darker than black

But it's a curse you will live with

Forever reaching the things that don't exist

Nonetheless this godforsaken path that you walk

It is a curse in itself, an inescapable crime

But it's a beauty I'll guard until the end of time

Rain melts down from the stars, falling from Azure skies~" She closed her eyes as she quieted down as she entered the classroom to see the familiar head of black hair, Sasuke was there brooding like a bird making her place an emotionless mask on as she slid into her seat beside the Hyuuga Heiress. Waiting as she focused on her clone's eyes, she counted under her breath.

"Ichi..."

"Nii"

"San..." she opened her eyes to the sound of the slam of the wooden door and hearing the girl arguing with her clone. sighing she pulled on her ninja mask as Naruto entered the room, Naruto spotted her and waved walking over to her making her smile under her black mask.

"Oi Sakura Dattebayo!" he smiled as he plopped down beside her making her relax slightly. Giving him a slight nod he only smiled more as a bubbly smile stretched onto his cheek's.

She smiled as the clone dispersed making the kids in the class shocked as they tried to figure out where the real one was, not seeing the head of pink they shrugged and went back to fooling around. She scoffed slightly as she waited for her turn.

2 hours hater her name was called. "Sakura Haruno!" making her stand up as she quickly vanish into the testing room. Looking around she saw Iruka Umino and Mizuki the creepy perverted teacher she could never trust in a lifetime.

"Ms. Haru-" Iruka started but she held her hand up.

"Mr. Umino-san please do not call me by my last name anymore...I do not wish to ever hear it again." Sakura stated as she placed her hands into her pocket's again.

"A-ah alright...Then Sakura please perform 3 clones of your choice. You will have to pass this to become a genin." Iruka smiled at the small girl making her nod slightly as she held up one hand.

"Kage bunshin no jutsu." she stated quietly making 3 clones appear, solid, with shadows. Iruka widened her eyes as he gave her a Red headband, gladly accepting it as she walked away not saying another word, nor sparing them a single backwards glance.
