Chapter 2
Word Count: 607
Tsukki's POV (3rd person)
Tsukki couldn't bear to look at Hinata anymore, feeling a stabbing ache whenever he attempted to do so. He had tried to talk to him, get him to explain, but the shorter male always ran from him (literally). The lanky man couldn't possibly understand his ex-boyfriend's reasoning; to him, everything had been going fine. Of course, people talked, but he brushed their words off like small nuisances. He sighed, forcing his signature smirk onto his features as his friends made their way to the hallway Tsukki was loitering in. Kankei smirked back, slapping his shoulder with force. Why his friends felt the need to do things like that, the blond didn't understand. People were just exhausting, making him wish for the energizing, easy conversations that always followed Hinata's entrance into a room. Kankei gave him a look, letting him know that he was being a downer again. His new group threatened to kick him out if he killed the "high," as they called it.
"What are you on about?" Kankei huffed out, tone not friendly in the least, per usual. "Not that stupid shorty again, I trust," he nearly growled after a moment's pause. Tsukki scoffed, making a "tch" sound.
"Why would I think about that?" he asked saltily, not having the heart to insult Hinata any further. As much as the aforementioned male had wounded Tsukishima, he still loved his little ball of sunshine. Tsukki felt as if he were made of glass, moments from shattering. These brutes of "friends" were like hail stones, barely scratching the surface of his mind to leave deep scars.
"Quit zoning out, we've got stuff to do," came a gravelly voice, snapping Tsukki from his circling thoughts. He glanced over, seeing a man he didn't recognize, but Kankei's followers came and went daily. He didn't bother to learn their names anymore, as he'd likely only see them for a single day before they disappeared again. He sighed, nodding his head with a blank look on his face. These days, he simply went along with whatever they wanted, never mentally present as a certain male took over his thoughts more often than not.
Kankei and his minions were off doing something or other, but Tsukki had elected to stay behind, watching the crowd pass by in the popular mall. He had been tiring of the monotony until a short, very short, figure appeared at the edge of his vision. This mysterious person wore an extremely baggy sweatshirt, both hands and knees completely covered by the thick ebony fabric. The male's fiery hair that usually stuck up in all directions seemed oddly flat, as if it had lost its usual liveliness.
"H-Hina?" Tsukki called out nervously, afraid to speak to his ex but wanting to do so more than anything else in the world. Hinata jumped, startled by the very familiar yet unfamiliar voice. He stared wide-eyed at Tsukki, vision beginning to be blurred by his unshed tears. The taller of the two saw his ex attempting to hide himself in his baggy clothing before darting away into the clumped crowd. His vanishing act hurt more than Tsukki had expected it to, feeling the urge to press his hand against chest to fight the rising sting.
"Let's get going before we get caught!" Kankei gripped Tsukki's collar, dragging him along with his fleeing crew. Must have been something illegal, the captured male concluded blandly. Tsukki's eyes darted around once more, desperate for another glimpse of the light of his life. He was, however, denied. His sun had vanished from the sky, leaving a lonely moon to rule the skies alone.
Second Chapter! Sorry that it's pretty short. The story is going to get darker from here and I only expect it to have 2 or 3 more chapters. Don't be afraid to comment and vote! Feel free to give me suggestions!
