05 || ...When we First Met
"So for the past year I've heard Two talk about how you're gonna come back and save this gang. How you're the missing piece and you're the glue. How even though you two ended on a bad note, he still loves you anyway," Soda smiles as we walk down the streets just like the moment when we fell in love with each other.
I nod my head as I look down at the street with a small smile playing on my lips, "this last year was pretty rough. My mom lost her job at one point and we were on the streets. I was cycling through guys as my mom was cycling through motels. I guess I was mad at Jilly for never calling me back, but after a week I'd leave the motel and dump my boyfriend. The next afternoon I'd be in a new motel with a new boyfriend. That was for a few months until I met Ryan. My life seemed to turn around. I was back in my house and I had a steady boyfriend. He broke up with me two days after I slept with him. It was a rough year."
He sighs, "rough world.....this year was pretty rough for the gang too. After you left we all started hanging at my house again, but there was something different in the air. The gang was split in half. I was fighting with everybody, everybody was fighting with each other. We still fight, our gang is falling apart. I mean it got better when Spencer got pregnant because, we all had a common goal help Spence, but when she lost the baby. It was terrible. Her and Dally they broke up and it was pretty nasty. He threw stuff at her, but she also threw stuff at him. They got very physical. They both landed in jail where they worked it out. As for the gang we were back in war zone."
"That sucks. My friend group back at Jersey left me too. They were all on Beth's side. None of them cared about me anymore. I was the bad guy. I was abandoned once again. I had nobody in my corner after a few months the gang left me too. All I had was the never ending stream of boyfriend I relied on," I say sadly looking away.
"It would be a different world if I hadn't been stupid and cheated," Soda talks softly looking away from me. "If I just would of told you my plan, it would of been a different world. We would of still been together and you'd be coming down for holidays. Everything would of been so so different. Although who knows, we still would of went on Spring break without you and there's a lot of factors that play into it."
I shrug, "maybe, but maybe not. You guys might of asked me before you booked it. Maybe we'd be engaged by now and happy. Maybe we'd be living a totally different life. Maybe I'd be pregnant and have a ring on my finger. Who knows?"
He looks up at the clouds squinting as the sun hit his eyes, "a lot of maybes."
"That comes with deep conversations," I look over into his sparkling blue-green eyes that makes my heart flutter. "I guess I trust you again for some reason, I can't explain it. I just do, kind of like the first time we met."
He nods his head locking eyes with me as he speaks softly and slowly making my heart beat faster than it was before, "well I guess if you trust me again, I can trust you again."
I nod my head not breaking eye contact, "you never stopped trusting me though."
The intensity of this moment is palpable. He stares down at me and it feels like there's a magnet pulling me into his lips. I lean in and he does the same slowly as we don't break eye contact. Before I know what even happening. He closed his eyes and presses his lips against mine. I close mine and melt into him. This moment is perfect until we hear an engine roaring. Sodapop jumps back looking at me then at a red corvet, "listen to me Lacey...okay?"
I nod my head as I stand there in fear, "this is like the first time we met."
He chuckles as we watch the corvet, but to our luck they drive right past us. He turns back to me and smiles, "wanna come over my house?"
"Hmmm," I pretend to think. "Should I rejoin the gang? That's a tough one."
He chuckles as he playfully hits me, "will you shut up?"
I shrug, "can I?"
He grabs my small waist spinning me around making me squeal with laughter. It doesn't take long before I find myself in a Sodapop bear hug, "I love you Lace."
I bite my lip as I smile widely, "I love you too Sodapop."
He pulls my lips to his pecking them softly, "I missed this."
"Me too," I blush.
"You're cute when you blush," he coos.

"Hey Two, I'm home," I smile at him as I walk through the door. "How's dad holding up?"
"He's stable," he mutters not even looking at me. "Although he hasn't tried to eat anything or drink anything other than water.
I sigh as I sit next to my brother, "is he gonna die?"
Two looks over to me sadly before he nods his head, "I'm afraid so kiddo. I know it's not fair and you didn't know. You're only a kid. I know you're gonna freak out and cry. Stomp your feet and scream. Ask over and over again why me."
I scoff in disbelief, "how did you know?"
"Because," he says slowly. "I had the same exact reaction."
"We are sibling," I chuckle. "We have the same reaction to some things."
He nods, "of course we do, as you said, we're siblings."
I snuggle up to him and smile, "I love ya Kieth!"
"I love ya too Lace, but don't call me Kieth," he gives me threatening eyes.
"Kieth!" I squeal as I stand up.
He stands up and starts chasing me around the house, "I'm gonna get you Lacey-Rose!"
I laugh loudly as I look back at Two-bit, "try me!"
It takes him a few minutes, but he grabs m waist pulling me back making me squeal. I grab some vanilla frosting that was have laying on the table for some reason and put it on his nose. "Oh it's on!"
He grabs a handful of frosting and throws it at me, it does't take long until we're in a full blown frosting war.
Once again just a very cute happy chapter. I hope ya'll are enjoying the happiness while it lasts. Stay gold. Do it for Johnny!
